  1. The Confessor Class
  2.
  3. Main Stat: Constitution
  4. Armour: Cloth Armour
  5. Shield: Kite/SoA
  6. Weapon: Athame (self-crafted)
  7. Bal/EQ: Balance primarily, EQ for some abilities.
  8.
  9. Concept: Confessor is predominantly a supportive class, as well as a more-than-capable basher. Its offensive capability is purposefully limited; it is -able- to defend itself if attacked alone, but with a lack of meaningful hinder, or holding power, it is easy to escape from when you know how the class works. Their primary purpose is to empower allies, and give them staying power to finish people, not to duel and fight with yourself. Nor do they give much in the way of afflictions to people, or even help keep a target in place.
  10.
  11. Backstory: To be decided. Something to do with Tsol'dasi and their Temple of Life. Outcasts who turned to the Soulrealm for answers, some sort of edgelord thing.
  12.
  13. Forsaken by the Temple of Life, a band of Tsol'dasi took upon the same mantle that the Qui'anar once held, embracing death and using their mysticism to directly affect one's soul through Sciomancy.
  14.
  15. Keeping a piece of their lineage within their ranks' teachings, Confessors are capable of harming just as much as they are helping through Sarcomancy; experiments of the flesh.
  16.
  17. Masters of rituals, Confessors learned much from Sapience's necromancers, studying in secret behind the veil of the Soulrealm. Bonecasting comprises the collection of bones from various creatures, and using the life energy that still yet resides in them to enact a number of powerful effects.
  18.
  19.
  20. ---Skills below are not necessarily in the order you obtain them, just the order I came up with them really.
  21. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22. ---[ Sciomancy ]---
  23. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24. Athame.
  25. * A Confessor's ritualistic weapon of choice.
  26. * SOUL IMBUE <dagger>
  27. -- Similarly to a Runewarden runicweapon, a Confessor imbues a dagger with a portion of their own soul to convert it into a ritual dagger (Athame).
  28. -- All Sciomancy and Sarcomancy abilities requires that an athame be wielded.
  29. -- Daggers lose the ability to be envenomed, once converted to an athame.
  30.
  31. Inscribe.
  32. - INSCRIBE ARMOUR WITH <death/life/spirit>
  33. * Scrawl arcane symbols into your arms, affording protection based on the chosen path.
  34. -- Death: cutting/blunt
  35. -- Life: psychic/asphyxiation/poison
  36. -- Spirit: elemental (magic/electric/fire/cold)
  37. -- Approximately ~25%; functions like Alchemist robes/empowerment, wherein it lasts until changed.
  38.
  39. Soulrend.
  40. - SOULREND <target>
  41. * Rend the soul of a foe, causing them extreme agony.
  42. -- Basic bashing attack.
  43. -- Damage scales with your constitution (and a collar artifact)
  44. -- At 19 con/L3 collar, works out to roughly ~415-430 dps on denizens.
  45. -- 30% chance to afflict one of clumsy/weakness/sensitivity on a denizen (at half the effect).
  46. -- Increased (+ ~10%) chance to critically hit, if no effect is given.
  47.
  48. Deathsight.
  49. Lifevision.
  50. -- Because not everything has to be new, and it makes sense given the class theme.
  51.
  52. Suffuse.
  53. - SUFFUSE <target>
  54. * Suffuse the spirit of an ally, bolstering their will.
  55. -- Resets all curing balances of your target, allowing their usage once more.
  56. -- Moderate (15-20s) cooldown. Resets herb, salve, smoke, moss, elixir, tree and actives.
  57. -- Can't be used on yourself.
  58.
  59. Soulwarp. (Uses ~2.3 seconds of balance post-nimble)
  60. - SOULWARP <target>
  61. * Gradually unravel the spiritual energies of a foe, to devastating effect.
  62. -- Works in levels, similar to fractures/tempers/etc.
  63. -- Levels: Minor (1), Low (2), Moderate (3), High (4), Unstable (5), Severe (6), Critical (7).
  64. -- Cured with FOCUS (see note 1)
  65. -- Tree/passives/actives do not cure warpedsoul.
  66.
  67. Soulwrack. (Uses ~2 seconds of balance post-nimble)
  68. - SOULWRACK <target> <physical|mental>
  69. * Wrack your target's very soul, causing their physical body to suffer in return.
  70. -- Requires at least moderate warpedsoul to use.
  71. -- Physical enacts a hamstring-like effect on the target. (lasting ~15 seconds)
  72. -- Mental causes FOCUS recovery to be approximately half a second longer. (lasting for 3 successful FOCUS uses)
  73. -- Both will fade early if the target drops below moderate warpedsoul.
  74.
  75. Extinguish.
  76. - EXTINGUISH SOUL OF <target>
  77. * The pinnacle of soul manipulation, this will bring your foe to a ghastly end.
  78. -- Instakill requiring Critical levels of Warpedsoul.
  79. -- Extinguish the target's very soul, causing them to drop lifelessly to the ground.
  80. -- See note 3
  81.
  82. Tether. (see note 4)
  83. - SOUL TETHER <mutual ally> [health|mana|aff]
  84. * Reduce your own power, and enhance an ally's in return.
  85. -- Reduces your max hp/mp by 7%.
  86. -- While tethered, the Confessor has a bonus (non-diminishing) 5% all resist.
  87. -- Ally attacks have a small (10-15%) chance to place a stack of warpedsoul on their target.
  88. -- Tether takes balance to put up, but can be freely type-changed once in place.
  89. -- ICD does not reset when changed.
  90. -- Must be in-room or adjacent for it to work.
  91. -- Whenever it triggers, heal based on the following:
  92. -- If not specified when tethered, heal 5-6% hp/mp.
  93. -- If health/mana is specified, heal 8-10% of the chosen type.
  94. -- If aff is chosen, siphon a random aff to the Confessor.
  95. -- 5s ICD, 8s if set to afflictions.

  106. - DISCERN <target> <physical/mental/aura>
  107. -- Physical shows the target's health/bleeding/physical afflictions.
  108. -- Mental shows the target's mana/mental afflictions.
  109. -- Aura shows everything, but is more spammy.
  110. -- Cooldown of ~5-8 seconds to prevent use every balance.
  111.
  112. Auras.
  113. - SARCOMANCY AURAS
  114. * List the Sarcomancy auras you currently have active.
  115. -- Auras affect the Confessor as well, multiple Confessors cannot stack auras.
  116.
  117. Absorption. (AURA)
  118. - SARCOMANCY ABSORPTION
  119. * Your flesh manipulation shows allies how to transfuse their own blood.
  120. -- Bleeding will be absorbed, and heal rather than damage.
  121. -- Target still counts as bleeding for the purpose of brokenstar/inflame etc.
  122. -- Alchemist CORRUPT negates the effects of this aura.
  123.
  124. Weaving. (AURA)
  125. - SARCOMANCY WEAVING
  126. * Bolster your aura to speed up the reflexes of your allies.
  127. -- Allies affected have a minor (10-15%) chance to avoid any form of entanglement/transfix. (not impale)

  162. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163. ---[ Bonecasting ]---
  164. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  165. -- A lot of these skills will be comboable with Sciomancy/Sarcomancy stuff, on its own separate 'rituals' balance.
  166. -- Ritual balance will be approximately the same speed as SOULWARP, and require balance to be used similarly to Zeal.
  167. -- Uses bonepowder reagent from various corpses. Not including the types in the skills 'cos lazy.
  168. -- Skills marked with a ## may be comboed with Sciomancy/Sarcomancy.
  169.
  170. Bones.
  171. - PULL BONE FROM <corpse>
  172. - CRUSH <bone>
  173. * Create powder from bones to be used in Bonecasting.
  174. -- Most non-humanoid corpses can be used for this.
  175. -- Different skills take different types, similar to inks for runelore.
  176. -- Birds, buffalo, horses, boars etc.
  177. -- Maybe undead, too.
  178.
  179. ## Dustcloud.
  180. - BONECAST DUSTCLOUD [target]

  182. -- Remove yourself or a mutual ally from battle briefly, preventing any harm from coming to them, but also preventing them from causing harm.

  194.
  195. ## Inhibit.
  196. - BONECAST INHIBIT <target> <SLOW|CURE>
  197. * Dull a target's ability to undo the warping of their soul.
  198. -- SLOW makes the next attempt to cure warpedsoul take double the time to recover.
  199. -- CURE makes the next attempt to cure warpedsoul fail.

  215. -- Balance taken is doubled if there is nothing to dissolve.
  216. -- If more than one are present, the skill does not consume balance (still uses ritual balance).
  217.
  218. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  219. ----- [ NOTES ] -----
  220. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  221. 1) FOCUS MIND changed simply to 'FOCUS'
  222. - Warpedsoul is cured alongside normal mental afflictions with this change.
  223. - Impatience still prevents focus in this manner, thus stops the cure of warpedsoul entirely.
  224. - Only one Confessor can build warpedsoul on a target.
  225.
  226. 2) Dissolve is mostly for bashing purposes since they're not going to be offensive much in groups. Though they can strip lyre if, for some reason, nobody else in your group can. It is very quick due it not being comboable with other abilities. It cannot be comboed with other Bonecasting abilities, because it uses ritual balance as well as normal balance. Also the only Bonecasting ability that has a modified ritual balance.
  227.
  228. 3) Extinguish is the Confessor's finisher, should they reach critical levels of warpedsoul. The ability bypasses any form of 'second life' effects such as starburst, soulcage, etc. It will also immediately force the target to 'Confess' (embrace death).
  229.
  230. 4) Kills made by the target the Confessor is tethered to will also credit the Confessor.
  231. --Both the Confessor and the tethered person 'gains' a kill, and the exp that goes with it.
  232. --Not sure how to change deathsight to reflect it. Maybe 'Empowered by <Confessor>, <Target> (and then the kill line).'
  233. -- eg for Dragon Bite: Empowered by Saonji, Thiev has made a snack out of Cooper's head.
