- Hello adam. My name is Travis M. can I have the phone number and email on the account.
- adam says:
- 484-###-####

- Travis M. says:
- And how may I be of assistance today?
- adam says:
- for some reason your DNS is spoofing google.com, and it isn't even doing it well...
- adam says:
- here is a screenshot of what I get when I visit https://google.com

- adam says:
- I have tried from several browsers
- adam says:
- when I tracert google.com it gives a penteldata IP address

- Travis M. says:
- Looing at the trace im sure what the issue is. Its going from your router to the modem to the gateway then google.com
- adam says:
- why would it send an Apple cert, though?
- adam says:
- I should note that this doesn't happen all the time... only once every few days
- Travis M. says:
- I can't really say. The SSL cert is issued from the host of the site creating a secure link between the site and your browers. It would be unrelated to our service.
- adam says:
- I thought you were sure what the issue was...
- adam says:
- is there anything that can be done on your end to rectify the issue?
- Travis M. says:
- Looking the trace it looks normal and the SSL cert is nothing to do with the service.
- adam says:
- maybe I'm confused... how is it normal that going to google.com would take me to a penteldata IP address?
- Travis M. says:
- If your refering to the 204.186.48.59 and the 204.186.59 IP those two are google's.
- adam says:
- um

- adam says:
- I don't see how you can claim those are google IP addresses
- adam says:
- it clearly belongs to penteldata
- adam says:

- Travis M. says:
- The reson why is shows has PenTeleData is that we use google global cache. We do host it but have nothing to do with the service is provides.
- adam says:
- I think I'm just going to take this up with Google, Apple, and the certificate authority. I'll also be changing my DNS settings because I don't really trust PenTelData as a result of this situation.
- adam says:
- it seems like on of the following things is happening: A) you guys cache common websites and the caching system is messed up... unlikely, B) you guys are spoofing common websites to mine data from them and a few of them have the wrong certs being served... possible, or C) your DNS is genuinely just messed up some how...
- Travis M. says:
- You may use what DNS sever you like but I can only give you the info provided.
- adam says:
- thanks... I feel like I got a lot of spin, but I know you're just doing your job. all I can hope is that you guys aren't allowed to "host" a google cache anymore
