  1. Nice.
  2. So, interview's going to be some basic scenarios that I want you to give decent enough answers to. Feel free to ask for more info, and think on your answers properly and all, don't feel a need to rush. And apologies if I'm slow or these questions are weird, I am tired as fuck.
  3. Right, lets go.
  4. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:30 AM
  5. :ok_hand:
  6. Muncorn - Today at 3:31 AM
  7. You're on the server and you see three assistants come on the station at once and start beelining towards the tool storage. They carry on running around with tools and the like, one dragging a weldertank. What do you do?
  8. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:32 AM
  9. First of all, are they all bald and in default setup gear? E.g. jumpsuits, backpacks, age 30.
  10. Muncorn - Today at 3:33 AM
  11. For the most part, either bald or colourful. Nothing too exciting.
  12. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:33 AM
  13. I'd have a check of their ckeys, playtime and notes. All clear, first join?
  14. Muncorn - Today at 3:34 AM
  15. All first join, one has a week on him.
  16. Notes are all clean.
  17. Ckeys are bland.
  18. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:35 AM
  19. I'd start watching like a hawk, ready to jump in when rules are actually broken. They're up to no good, yeah, but joining as a bald assistant isnt against the rules.
  20. Maybe set up a quick macro of "toggle-paralyse ckey1; toggle-paralyse ckey2; toggle-paralyse ckey3"
  21. If mods get that...
  22. Muncorn - Today at 3:37 AM
  23. Nope, macros get you muted. But, a little after you see them doing actions clearly indicative of metagaming, moving in sync, choosing direction without talking IC and the like. Would you do anything now?
  24. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:37 AM
  25. Oh, I also forgot to mention(edited)
  26. I'd relay it over msay, so other mods/admins know about dis
  27. Muncorn - Today at 3:38 AM
  28. Of course.
  29. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:40 AM
  30. TBH I'd probably defer the action to an admoon, but if I had to make a desicion I'd try and organise 2 other staff to assist in pms, so we can each take one and ask what they're doing, explain rules, etc(edited)
  31. Muncorn - Today at 3:41 AM
  32. Good idea, as they later tried to blow shit up, you averted the disaster. Next one.
  33. You get an ahelp from a non-associated party about a character stealing items from science randomly and running off with them. They then evade security and eventually get caught. They're non-antagonist, and they're an experienced player that's been around for a good while to your knowledge.
  34. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:45 AM
  35. I'd do a check in msay to ask if anyone was watching them earlier, as my first instinct would be that this is antag-involved stealing, brought about by blackmail/threats etc. Since its an experienced player and all.
  36. Muncorn - Today at 3:47 AM
  37. One of the staff will say that the character in question was with a traitor earlier, but don't know anything more.
  38. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:48 AM
  39. Its still better to confirm with the player. I'd pm them with something along the lines of "Hey bud, a concern has been raised regarding the theft of the things in science. Could you please confirm for me the IC reason you stole them?"
  40. Muncorn - Today at 3:51 AM
  41. They'll say it was under blackmail by the traitor aformentioned, but that traitor is now SSD. Security IC doesn't care though, arresting as normal.
  42. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:51 AM
  43. Well that security for you. Can realtime logs be pulled, or does that need to wait for round end?
  44. Muncorn - Today at 3:52 AM
  45. Unless you were ghosted or have someone that was there, it's roundend. At that point we'll presume the situation's resolved, cuz' that was a pretty bad question.
  46. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:53 AM
  47. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  48. Muncorn - Today at 3:53 AM
  49. You get an ahelp from the Engineer saying that the SM is delaminating due to someone leaving the emitter on, locked to keep firing at about 35 minutes gametime. Var fingerprints show that there are four people to touch it, the CE (7mins); the Engineer (12mins); engineering borg (24 mins); and the Engineer again (34 mins). Clearly an act of grief, what do you do? Age times of all players are negligable as evidence.
  50. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:53 AM
  51. Emitters leave disable and enable logs, right? In light blue text. Or is it just enable logs?
  52. Muncorn - Today at 3:54 AM
  53. Only enable logs.
  54. They're a basic admin log, available to all staff. Indicates location as well, to note.
  55. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:54 AM
  56. What do the emitter on logs say?
  57. Muncorn - Today at 3:55 AM
  58. Scrolling up, they state they were turned on at 7minutes stationtime, another at 12 minutes, another at 24 minutes.
  59. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:56 AM
  60. I can theorise that it is the borg from that, and the engineer fingerprint at 34 was them turning it off. I'd check traitor status of the borg to see if I need to approach this as a general greif issue, or an antag's extreme action without ahelp issue
  61. Muncorn - Today at 3:57 AM
  62. It's not a traitor or malfed borg, nor seems to have any reason to have done it. They have also logged by this point.
  63. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 3:59 AM
  64. Now this is a tricky one. They cant explain it obviously, but they cant be left unpunished. Is there a more experienced staff member around that has dealt with logging greif before?
  65. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 4:00 AM
  66. I dont quite know the proceedure for this tbh.
  67. Muncorn - Today at 4:00 AM
  68. One staff will casually call them a griffer and tell you to just perma them.
  69. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 4:01 AM
  70. I'd ping a staffmember I know to be more serious on discord/steam or the like with the quick question, as advice with banter-like terminology isnt the most trustworthy thing.
  71. Oh, checking notes also. Check those notes to see if they've done it before/received warnings
  72. Because thats important
  73. Muncorn - Today at 4:02 AM
  74. Most would respond and say a permaban is most likely the best idea. An appeal is always an option, and also notes are clear.
  75. Right, lets stop using my own question, stealing others.
  76. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 4:02 AM
  77. And I'd apply the ban
  78. Next question
  79. Muncorn - Today at 4:03 AM
  80. You receive an ahelp, but it is claimed by an admin. You follow the proceedings, but don't agree with the judgement the admin makes. What do you do?
  81. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 4:03 AM
  82. I wouldn't directly go in and overrule their judgement and enforce my own understanding of it, but instead I'd ping them in a DM to ask how they came to that final ruling, to try and understand the why behind it(edited)
  83. Muncorn - Today at 4:04 AM
  84. They explain their reasoning, but it still feels pretty off to you from all that you know.
  85. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 4:05 AM
  86. Do they have a history of making off-color rulings like this, or have a reputation for it?(edited)
  87. Muncorn - Today at 4:05 AM
  88. Nothing to a major degree.
  89. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 4:08 AM
  90. I'd take a note of it, and perhaps privatley bring my concern up with a trusted member of the team. That way there is a record of it being a concern, and the other admin could also give their insight into the issue. Maybe the first one didn't explain themselves in a totally clear way, or this was a special case that I didnt know about.
  91. Muncorn - Today at 4:09 AM
  92. Hmm, alright. Last question, if you were a moderator, or even not, what would you like to see change with how the staff team works here, or how the server works as a whole?
  93. 404 - Toast not found - Today at 4:10 AM
  94. No, I think it operates pretty smoothly as is.
