  1. Quick rundown of how the aura system worked in TC2: Every chunk had two values that made up the "Aura", Vis and Taint. At any point, should taint value be higher then the vis value, the land starts becoming corrupted. Various things a thaumaturge did added or subtracted to the vis and taint values, normally using vis and making taint as a byproduct. They tend to balance out over time to natural values, some chunks having more or less then normal. If a chunk has more vis or taint then the chunks around it, it will slowly bleed out into other nearby chunks. Now then, this is where taint gets nasty: Because it can flow into other chunks, very little can stop it once it gets going. A small patch of taint spawns near your lab, it grows to the point a taint bulb spawns and start MAKING tainted aura. Entities start getting infected, then spreading taint. More taint bulbs spawn, speeding up rate of taint creation. Taint starts spreading into other chunks, and the worst case scenario has already started.
