I don't have a comprehensive answer, Swift.
And I'm not sure I feel up to writing an essay.
Surprising for someone who loves speeches.
I was still new to the job at the time.  My predecessors didn't give me much help.  I was figuring it all out.
We also had a legacy policy from Jack's days about not being allowed to punish on anything said outside of the forum or official chats.
And I trusted my team to tell me what was and wasn't important, believing they'd be unbiased.
I think in the end, I wasn't comprehensive enough in seeing everything.  I focused down on one problem at a time.
And never addressed everything as it should have been.
I wasn't perfect.

It is your right to judge me for how I handled things back then.  At the time, I thought we were doing things as it should have been addressed.
And perhaps we were all wrong back then.
I do agree with you that the URPG cannot handle these things being brought up time and time again.
And I don't think it will stop while I'm around.
I don't think it will have a chance to rest or recover.
Because they will always keep pressuring the community and people will be driven away.
I have always tried to act upon the will of the staff.  Both then and now.
And how we all try to serve this community together.
I still want to do so now, even if you don't believe me.  Even if the world doesn't believe me.
Because that's how stupid I am.
I'm going to resign, Swift.  Liam is right.  The URPG cannot move forward with me around.  That is the reality of it.
And if I can do one more good for this community by leaving, then I'll do it.
It's what I signed up for.
And perhaps it's the best I can do.
I want to name you Head of the URPG.
You're the best qualified of everyone left.

I greatly appreciate that, Harry. I appreciate that you are willing to go about this peacefully and I appreciate that you still want to do right by URPG. I do believe that your resignation, no matter anyone's current opinion, is what is best and I am relieved that you are able to unbiasedly say that as well.

As for being named the next Head. This is much more complicated than a yes or no from me. In the long run, I cannot possibly devote the time and attention URPG will ultimately need. I cannot in good conscience be in the position and inactive at the same time. However, I am willing to accept some of the responsibilties as an acting Head for the time being. For the most part, I believe that Staff should simply govern URPG as a unit for right now. I dont forsee myself enacting a final decision that may cause Staff divides for the immediate future. I intend to look into ways we can replace me, too. Fair and just ways.
But before we make this change, Harry, I have to make 100% certain it is what's best for URPG.
What will happen to our presences on PWN and PXR?

Ultimately, I know. But it was a question I had to ask either way. It's one of our greatest risks at the moment.

Also, Swift.
The ship needs a captain.
I don't think Acting Head will cut it.
The URPG needs to know there is some stability.
That things won't change at the drop of a hat.
You don't have to stay on as long as I did.
Some of my predecessors only did a year or two.
But you are the person that can guide the community through this storm.
Just like Jack chose me to do so many years ago.
I.... I will say it's a terrible job.
People will expect you to be perfect.
And will judge you for every wrong move.
Even ones you can't remember you made.
But.... it's a position that can move the community forward.
Just... just remember to retire during the good times and not the bad.
It's what I wish I'd done.

I cannot make the promise to you that I intend to keep to keep the position after these things are over

But I do not want to leave you like Jack and Flare left me.

There are very few of us who know what being Head is like.
Perhaps you won't need me and that's fine.  I understand.
And I will be pasing onto you my notes that I've taken on the URPG throughout the years.
Think of as a Leadership Chest.
One that I'm passing on to you.
Perhaps something that should be passed on to each subsequent Head.

I appreciate that, Harry, I really do. I want you to know that there is so much good. You are a good person, I dont doubt that for a second. There were a great many instances where you were, in fact, an impeccable leader. I dont want any of what is happening to make you doubt your self worth or yourself as a person in ANY way. Maybe that sounds patronizing especially since you are older than I, but I mean it sincerely.
I will of course accept any guidance and information you think it best to provide with open arms. I need all the help I can get right now lol.
From here, I'm going to be fully transparent. Both with you and with the community at large.
