  1. A day in the life on Pendulum:
  2. Last night I met a player named Sniper Duque. He told me of his ambitions on the server and how excited he was and enjoying the custom content here. I bought some of his loot and we parted ways. Today, he messaged me asking for help. He had been killed by Abba/Ahr/Eddie group. This is a rampant group of destructive war team players on their alts who systematically hunt and kill new, neutral, random players on a daily basis. He was very upset about dying, but I tried to explain to him that this is the way that life is on this server, that we live under their rule and if we defend ourselves against their alternate character killing sprees, we find ourselves hunted off the server by their main characters. He asked me to help him by going to Nordag to buy him an amulet of loss, but I also did not help him with this because this team of killers regularly have traps set up on that island to catch unsuspecting players. Sniper Duque logged off just now, very disillusioned, upset and disengaged, feeling that he has no support or possibility to play the game without being targeted daily by abusive players such as this group.

  4. I’ve seen this happen a number of times now, even to my friends Iatric and Magsuki. A number of times where a player has been randomly targeted by this group and in their naivety, they go to get an amulet of loss and end up dying again at the boat and losing everything. These players have been inconsolable, aggressive, even quit the game from the random and excessive acts of this group. I found myself having a read of the Medivia rules and wondering why rule 2h isn’t being enforced here. This is not a once a month killing rampage for a laugh. It happens daily. So many new players are being killed off by random power abuse.

  6. If GM’s intervene too much against the natural order, perhaps there may be backlash from some player groups in the community. That is why this is a complicated issue. But I do not believe that doing nothing is the answer. These players should be warned against their excessive killing of new, random players for no reason. I will reiterate. These are not players who are just killing on occasion. They are rampantly working through lists of players within their “kill range” indiscriminately. These players do not need to be instantly banned, but surely a warning or three strike policy might curb their excessive and destructive behavior. There is a difference between occasionally killing a player and randomly targeting a player and without a valid reason, systematically ruining them to the point that they almost lose their will to live.

  8. At what point is it time to enforce rule 2H for the sake of server population and health?
  9.
  10. It is time for action against this small, destructive group of players.

  12. Thanks for your time.
