  16. You know, after a while, running around Europe, Africa, and Asia makes one yearn for something new. The major powers have set up colonies, and so I wandered about a while, visiting them, seeing what bits of developing magecraft I could learn and otherwise putting my nose in other peoples' business. When 1692 rolled around, I headed up to the Massachusetts Bay colony, expecting to see some crazy magecraft or something and the locals throwing a fit about it. Turns out it was remarkably disappointing; there wasn't even any magic involved so far as I could tell, simply a few girls trying to get someone else in trouble and the whole thing spinning out of control.

  18. Sometimes people are disgusting creatures.
  19.
  20. I think my interference in that kind of angered the church, though, and... well, that was a bit of a pain in my neck throughout my stay.
  21.
  22. But then 1776 rolls around, and with it, AMERICA! FUCK YEAH! The King has finally found his calling; a country that needs no king is the country that deserves the best of them all... although there's less gold than I'd prefer, and more red, white, and blue. Still, quite acceptable. Even after all this time, it's interesting to see larger-than-life figures in their natural settings. Sometimes they're exaggerated, sometimes not. And sometimes there are things that slip between the pages of history.
  23.
  24. Like for instance the various legends that wound through the Americas. I spent less time over the next couple centuries travelling overseas and more moving throughout the Americas, since there was so many interesting things, and of course a great many things to learn and people to teach. But I made a great deal of enemies, even if I rubbed elbows with all walks of society. And... honestly, the outlaw role that I was pushed into, between my enemies and the Church? I ended up embracing it. I may not have been Professor Moriarty, but at various times, being a master criminal of sorts was certainly doable. Though I had to throw a great many false leads around, not to mention rebuild many times over the years, in order to cover my tracks. And, you know, to conceal the fact that I'm not actually getting any older.
  25.
  26. Occasionally faking my death (or technically not FAKING my death) because someone's bullets refused to go anywhere but my heart, and they caught me flat footed, didn't help the irritation at the need to rebuild.
  27.
  28. Over the years I'd had my hand in a lot of various dealings, but the fun part of being in this era is getting to see the modern age come about. To be honest, while the industrial revolution is interesting, it's also rather sad. The Age of Gods was overrated, but seeing things progress to the modern era and seeing magic driven further underground... seeing mass production versus individual works... it is kind of sad in a way, but it can also give the lowest dog a chance to better themselves. Even mongrels can sometimes prove they have value. Yet turning such devices to our own desires is even more effective. Especially when I can create technology to manipulate or control any effect I can observe, not to mention improving any of the advancing technology that catches my eye.
  29.
  30. Also, and I have no idea how it happened, now I am huge.
  31.
  32. What.
