- <Argolics> the point is
- <Argolics> manga ARE NOT photos
- <Argolics> it's mostly shades of gray or pure b/w
- <Yakkul> The difference is probably minuscule enough that it doesn't matter to some people.
- <Argolics> and that's where png can do better
- <Argolics> well, some people does not care at all about quality and all that shit. they read from mangafox and are all a happy gents, ya know
- <Yakkul> Yeah...
- <Yakkul> That was a bit extreme.
- <Argolics> bet that's not how you scanlate things though
- <Argolics> but*
- <Yakkul> Nobody said anything about not caring about quality.
- <Yakkul> There are plenty of groups that use jpg
- <Argolics> they are all idiots :3
- <Yakkul> I see you're very opinionated.
- <Argolics> who cannot into png optimization and yadda yadda
- <Yakkul> Again
- <Argolics> of course i am, i studied the subject
- <Yakkul> When the res is that high, it probably doesn't matter to them because the difference isn't big enough to warrant it.
- <Yakkul> Might have studied the subject, but you don't clean the same way.
- <Argolics> and conclusions were pretty straightforward
- <Yakkul> See you
- <fckyeahpng> o/
- <Yakkul> I'll try
- <Yakkul> being called an idiot doesn't help
- <Yakkul> no worries
- <Yakkul> and well fck said it should be fine for this chapter so I'll just adjust the settings for future ones
- <Argolics> for results, colors: use jpeg, everything else: png. for scanning everything lossless is preferred because there's a rather simple rule - the less distortion you add the better.
- * AnonBlack has quit ()
- <Argolics> there's no reason to do high quality scans to only ruin them (for some varying degree) with jpeg artifacts
- <Yakkul> at 600dpi...?
- <Argolics> which are always there, even at 100% quality
- <Yakkul> Lol
- <Argolics> i am serious, lol
- <Yakkul> Yeah, I noticed.
