Background: sanghee’s life could be considered as a nightmare before she turned eighteen and got to live on her own. she was very unfortunately born in an abusive family, in which both of her parents were a drunken mess and her brother was too young to help her, as he was as well only one year older than her. she was five when her brother almost got killed by the parents’ abuse and frightened, she secretly called the police and of course, the parents were put behind bars. she was traumatized and till now, she refused to talk about it and even avoided to even think about her past. she didn’t keep anything that will make her remember about that accident anymore, completely hiding her past. none of her present friends knew about it as well, and she even lied about it when someone asked about her scars.
 her life became slightly better ( just very slightly) when another family adopted them, a middle aged couple. they provided food and everything and it was all good except for one thing-- the new parents were extremely strict, setting curfews, not allowing sanghee and her brother to go socialize and require them to attend an insane amount of tutorial classes, scolding is a must if they aren’t the top in the class. they banned them from dating and that was also one of the reasons why sanghee rejected taeyong ( her love interest) in high school. finally, when sanghee turned 18 she was accepted to a college far away from her house. she wasn’t very close to her new parents, so she decided to move out and lived on her own, meeting up with her brother, without contacting them even once. she despised her past so much, and decided to even change her birth name gowon to sanghee and threw away all her past toys, photographs and everything. she now got new friends, new life and she is all happy.

Personality: despite on all the things she went through, sanghee wasn’t that type of emo-girl-changes-to-ball-of-sunshine girl. she wasn’t as bright as now when she was before, but she was definitely energetic and positive since she was born. when she first entered college it was her first time to socialize freely and she became a party animal and learnt how to be hype within days with her new friends. she was so new to everything and thanks to her innocent face and baby nature, she learnt things very quickly. she was also aware of bad influences, of course, she lived under bad influences in her past as well.
 sanghee is really talkative, but she doesn’t annoy you, no, she grew up knowing what to do in different situations. she is the type you’d want in playdates because then she will be your source of happiness. she knows a lot of jokes and she has a very goofy sense of humor, her speeches can make any sad person break a smile within seconds. even her tone brightens up your day. she does know how to be serious in correct situations as well. she doesn’t want others to go through painful things like what she has experienced, so she oftens spoils others and is very protective of her loved ones. she spent her first 17 years frowning, crying and frightened every second, and she doesn’t want others to feel like that either. she is also good at being positive even in the worst situations, because she has already been through the worst, and she is here.
some flaws she has is that despite on everything, she doesn’t know how to comfort people personally, probably also because no one had ever comforted her before and she grew up well still. she is generally a likeable person who has a fine relationship with almost everyone, but because of her past, she is a little bit… scared to trust others ( her first parents seemed loving when she was a baby, but she soon knew it wasn’t true). she doesn’t have that one best friend whom she can share everything with and she is kinda just there to be everyone’s happy virus and to please everyone, but because she never talked about her past, no one knew her whole self and no one became true one and only best friends with her.
she likes people who are independent and because of her past tough living conditions, anything that seems bad was nothing compared to what she had experienced. deadlines? she likes it. six quizzes tomorrow? she’s fine with it. having party at midnight realising that the exams were tomorrow? oh, she doesn’t care. if she is still rushing to study when she is given freedom at last, she will regret it no matter what. youth doesn’t wait. she is actually rather intelligent ( due to all the tutorial classes and she pays attention in class as well ), but she is finally free from everything, she doesn’t care about schoolwork anymore. some people criticized her for not treating college work seriously, but she really, really, really doesn’t care.
  she is very sensitive about her past and if someone forces her to talk about it despite on how hard she tries to avoid the conversation, she lashes out and loses everything.any mention of her past, even saying her birth name gives you a free ticket to the medication room. her past is the only thing giving her nightmares almost every night, the thing that made her wake up with tear trails on her face.  swearing even the slightest words is a sin in korea, but she doesn’t care. cussing all the way isn’t new to her, and sometimes she even picks up a fight, privately of course,( like pulling one into a dark corner and beat the hell outta him) she isn’t that dumb to know that fighting in public draws attention and destroys her image. she is a taekwondo black belt and she is a pro at self defense, so fighting is no big deal to her.
