  1. Four cannons were lined up and loaded in anticipation of the battle on a hill. Thomas was making the last
  2. calculations before the 36-pound canons bring hell to the battlefield. He still could not believe that
  3. his life end up like this, reincarnated by some mad god without a word in a world so strange and yet so
  4. familiar. Thanks to his luck, the Iron Harvest mercenary group found him before he starved and took
  5. him with them when they found out about his erudition in mathematics. He had kept most of his
  6. memories but some knowledge that was linked to this world was locked away. Every time he
  7. tried to remember them, they just slipped away. He had never spoken about his reincarnation and
  8. justify his ignorance by saying that he came from a land of farewell or by just staying quiet and
  9. listening. He became the apprentice of the gunner’s chief Gregory and fought a few battles. Gregory
  10. taught him how to use the sound of the cannon to bring fear to the heart of men or how to shatter a
  11. wall with precision strikes to force a surrender and avoid useless casualty. When judged
  12. ready, Thomas took the place of the chief in the canon’s crew and Gregory took his retirement.
  13. “The lucky bastard leave at the right moment” mumbled Thomas. Just after his departure, they got a
  14. contract from the Order to support them in a stupid battle in the middle of nowhere against a horde
  15. of monsters. The company’s Captain Charles had to take the job because the zealots would have
  16. declared all the mercenary group heretics otherwise. The enemy had taken a position on the other side
  17. of the plain. They were getting to launch the assault but something about their body was uncanny to
  18. Thomas. They are too sexy and have nothing to do with the tales of his old world. Yet he was sure
  19. that he had already seen them somewhere and that shooting at them would mean a horrible end. He
  20. was starting to think that maybe it is the result of an enemy’s spell when Pascal, one of the
  21. crewmembers, approached and put Thomas out of his daydreaming.
  22. “Thomas, all canons are loaded and ready to go”
  23. “Good, Messenger inform the Captain of this”
  24. “Yes sir”, He started to run around the spikes to reach the other parts of the company down the
  25. plain.
  26. Soon after, horns start to announce the debut of the battle. With a sign of the hand, Thomas ordered
  27. the first cannon volley. The cannonballs were stopped by a magical wall but slowed the advance of
  28. the monster horde.
  29. “Men, reload and reduce the angle by five-degree” Thomas could already tell that they had become a
  30. priority target but that will allow the rest of the troops to get more room to counter strike. Few
  31. projectiles, solid and magical ones already aimed to their fortified position.
  32. A new hand sign and a new volley was fired but this time half of the cannonballs got shattered before
  33. they could even reach the magical shield. This was not good at all, the enemy had a powerful mage
  34. and was smart enough to avoid most of the direct strikes. A glance in his telescope said to
  35. Thomas that the frontline was far from winning and one the hero of the order was f***ing…? He
  36. quickly stopped to look in the telescope to avoid any corruption and start to yelled new orders to
  37. forget his ever-stronger feel of dread.
  38. “Men, Reload and get ready for the canister shot. It looks like we will see the devil’s eye up close so let’s
  39. welcome him.” The crewmembers all answered but fear could be here in their voice. One more hand
  40. sign and the canons expelled their deadly gift. A few more volleys were shot and this time some of the
  41. cannonballs were not destroyed or stopped and land some hits on the most massive monsters. They
  42. were not killed but out of combat for this battle. This little victory was meaningless, everyone could
  43.
  44. see it, that was a slaughter, and it was painfully obvious that the battle was already lost in the first
  45. hour. Thomas had no time to lament, a part of the enemy’s shock troop had taken them for target
  46. and no one could stop them.
  47. “Load the canister shots and get ready to fire”. Before any of his men could finish his order, the
  48. crew of three canons was snatched away by a group of harpies. The archers that should have kept them
  49. away were all gone, running or getting caught by the enemy. Pascal who was still here caught
  50. Thomas by the arm.
  51. “We should retreat, we can’t hold this position.”
  52. “If you want to flee then do it and get lost.” He did not need to tell it twice Pascal and the last
  53. member of the crew left him alone. He had no idea why he wants to try a last stand, maybe for his
  54. dumb ego. Thomas slowly took one of the black powder barrels and put a short fuse in it. He would
  55. just have to ignite it and send him rolling in those fuckers. The shock troops were now at a few
  56. meters and spread apart to avoid the maws of the canons. What appeared to be their chief took a
  57. few steps.
  58. “Get closer and I send you back to hell screaming.”
  59. “Human surrender yourself, you had fought well but it’s now pointless. We will not hurt you and you
  60. will be treated well” Her voice was rough and yet sincere.
  61. “Yeah sure and you will kiss me before sleep.”
  62. “I’m married but if it’s what you wish your future wife will do it with pleasure…”
  63. “…” Thomas did not know what kind of taunt was that but he had a strange feeling, this was so
  64. familiar like a unique story read so many times in different forms. He cleared his mind, ignited the
  65. fuse, and kicked the barrel. The barrel rolls down just to get stuck a few meters away, way too far
  66. away from the monsters and too close to him. He started to run but it was too late. The blow sent
  67. him flying and he could see his right arm going in the opposite direction. The last images in his mind
  68. were heavy boots running toward him and a woman's voice screaming for a medic. A monster wife,
  69. Mamomo, this word started to come back from his old memories, and then everything came back as the
  70. mental lock broke. They are monster girls, they just want love (and maybe can rape you) and he just
  71. literally blow himself up his chance to be happy in this world. He felt like he messes up badly.
  72.
  73. Thomas woke up in a medical bed, the place was mostly empty and only a few over patients were in
  74. some beds scattered around. Only his right eye was working and by the pain in the left side of his head,
  75. he could guess why. Most of his face, a big part of the torso and right arm, or what was left of it, were
  76. covered in bandages. A white centaur-like creature came to him.
  77. “Welcome, you’re in the medical tent of the extremist mamono army. We had taken care of you
  78. after your ‘incident’, you had sleep 6 days from now.” His brain was still overwhelmed by the
  79. memory of the battle and his revelation, they are high chances that it is in the MGE world. They
  80. called themselves mamonos and if he remembered well now she was a Unicorn. Her voice was
  81. relaxing but as soon as she finished talking a big purple catgirl popped out of thin air.
  82. “How are you sleepy head ?” Her grin widened with the surprised reaction of Thomas.
  83. “I feel in pain. Why did you save your enemy ?” He asked the question in the hope to confirm his
  84. intuition.
  85.
  86. “To torment you with se…” The Unicorn strike her with her scepter, the purple catgirl could not
  87. finished her phrase.
  88. “Because we want to make peace between human and monster. We only live in the hope to share our
  89. love with all humans. I am Sara, the chief medic and a Unicorn and this is my assistant for this time
  90. Laninia, a Cheshire cat. I’m surprised that You didn’t jump out of bed in search of a weapon at the
  91. sight of monsters ?”
  92. “I have no reason to do so and don’t think my body couldn’t allow it anyway”
  93. “Indeed, to tell the truth, you’re the heaviest injury of this battle. You lost an eye and arm and you
  94. will keep some scars on your head and torso.” She looked saddened by her diagnosis.
  95. “I like it, it feels like you’re a scratching post…” Her dumb joke made him jiggled.
  96. “Well it could be fare worse, thank you a lot to give me a second chance. I will try my best to include
  97. myself in this new world” They were looking happy with this answer but he could tell that they did
  98. not trust him. He could understand why…
  99. “Laninia takes care of him, I will inform his companions of his recovery.”
  100. “Understood, ma’am.” As soon as the unicorn left the tent, two saucers like eyes were staring at
  101. Thomas with a malicious glare.
  102. “Do you want anything, my dear little firecracker ?”
  103. “Do you have any strong liquor to numb the pain” He answered with a sight? She pretended to search
  104. in some imaginary shelf.
  105. “No, sorry. We only have a piece of my ass” He stared at her in disbelief for a moment. She had the
  106. the largest grin he ever saw.
  107. “I see.” He said while now trying to focus his gaze on the roof.
  108. “Oh so you want to see it” She then teleported her derriere at a few centimeters from his face
  109. “Ahah, really funny sewer cat.” He then caught her tail and pulled the whole thing on the side like
  110. some kind of air balloon. She immediately shrugged away and hid her face.
  111. “I’m not a sewer cat and You shouldn’t touch a lady’s tail like that” Her little game was starting to
  112. anger him, he just wants some peace
  113. “Then let me…” Before he could finish a massive
