Episode 16: Meeting the kids

After scaring Severa unintentionally, Jalen spent about a good 15 mins walking around inspecting the ranch and home of Cynthia and Gerome with everyone watching with anticipation along with their monsters. Severa practically had to hide behind Lucina in abstract fear of him much to Alexis's sadistic glee. "(At least she's quiet now..)" She thinks to herself as Jalen continues to look over the ranch as if he is looking for something with an annoyed scowl.

"What's..." Cynthia speaks up with some fear in her tone.. "What's he doing?" "If I were to wager a guess..." Inigo rubs his chin with a possible answer.. "I would say that he's searching for-" "Treasure!" _Owain shouts loudly as everyone turns and give him a look that makes hm feel embarrassment. "...Sorry.."  Lucina shakes her head and watch as Jalen turn and walk over to them with his hands in his pockets. "Well, we're gonna find out why he was doing what he was doing..."
Jalen stops before them with a frown with Marth standing next to them across from everyone and their monsters. He takes his hands out of his pockets and walk over to where the twins are, his footsteps making their hearts beat faster and faster before he stops before them.

"....You two look like kids of that Gautier guy..." "Ye-yeah! We are!" Soleil smiles widely with her brother nodding. "I'm Soleil Gautier and this is my younger brother, Inigo Gautier!"  He look between them both and raise an eyebrow. "No monster?" "Ah, no..." Inigo speaks up while rubbing his head. " We're more of the scientists of the group, for instance...we uhhhh.." Jalen crosses his arms as Inigo stammers feeling his glare.. "...co-come on man..don't st-stare at me like that..." Jalen turn his eyes to Soleil who also was sweating. Alexis sighs and speak up from the other side of the line. "Dad, they wanna know if they can use a Maximum Tomato to study on it's workings.."

"Come again?" He turn his face to her with a scowl as the twins stammers before Soleil shakes her head and begin speaking up. "It-It's nothing bad! But we were just curious on how the vegetable worked! If-If you let us, we could possibly find a way to make more in a faster manner!.."

Jalen stares at her and then Inigo before sighing and walking off. "...Fine, but I expect results from you guys however long it takes." The twins fistpumps and claps their hands against one another with Jalen stopping before Gerome and Kurth. He look them both up with a calm look before landing his eyes on Gerome's dark blue hair and then his red eyes.. "...You're a Fradarius..." "Correct." Gerome nods. "Gerome Fradarius...And this Ragnaroks is mines, Kurth."

Kurth growls at Marth, hoping to intimidates the smaller Garu, but Marth simply bare his fangs and make Kurth quiet down. Gerome coughs into his hand, somewhat embarrassed by this display from his monster. "....sorry, he tends to try and establish himself as the better to new monsters..." ".....Should tell him to stop lest he get his ass whooped by a far less nicer monster..." Jalen frowns as Gerome nods.. "Regardless, I hope to spar with you and see whether you lived up to the legend you are in our timeline."

Jalen breathes in and out, he's not happy with how he was in their timeline considering he and Marth were essentially a killing duo. Which made him sick to his stomach as he walk off.

"...Sure, I'll think about it..." He mutters and walk to Cynthia who smiles widely at him. "Hi! I'm Cynthia Willowbrooks! Daughter of Sumia and Gaius Willowbrooks!" "(I could had sworn that I met that guy during my youth..we were both bandits at that time..I wonder how's he doing..)" Jalen thought to himself . "My mom is a baker and I don't know what Dad's doing at the moment...but it's really nice to meet you! Oh, my girlfriend is Severa!" _She gestures to the black-haired girl behind Lucina who is still wearing an expression of fear and anger directed at him. "...so I see.." He mutters before looking at Cynthia up and down.. "No monster?"


"Nope, I'm not to particularly interested in monsters, I kinda think monster battling is boring..." Jalen had to use every single force in his body to not slap her like a Jill fueled with Fury. So  he just gave her a cold stare while shaking his head in a disapproving manner. Making Cynthia mutters sorry to Alexis who also gave her the same look, knowing how her father loves monster battle.
He approaches Owain who instantly grabs his hand and shake it profusely, garnering gasps from everyone except for Alexis who just mutters 'dumbass' while facepalming.

"It is a HONOR to meet you, sir! I too have heard so many stories about you growing up and needlessly to say that to see you in the flesh is a HUUUUUGE dream of mines come true!"

Jalen merely looks extremely annoyed as Owain continues to shake his hand with Gilgamesh trying to do the same to Marth who vehemently refuses. "...Let go of me..." Owain blinks and then widens his eyes as he let go. "Oh, I'm so sorry...I got too excited for seeing my hero..." "...right...you have a Hawkclaw, it seems." "CORRECT!" Owain crosses his arms with a wide smile as Gilgamesh does the same minus the mouth for the smiling, although his eyes turned to U's so clearly the apple doesn't fall far from the tree here. "....Ok then.." And Jalen and Marth walk off until they are before Kana who have his Armads behind him.

"....You are...?" He look down at the younger kid who's smiling at him.  "Yeah, I'm Kana Von Hresvelg! And this Centaurion is mines! His name is Armads. "The metal beetle hums in agreement.

"...You're the son of Rhiannon and Edelgard..." He surmises as Kana nods fast. "yeah! You know of them already?" "Yeah...They're ok." Severa widens her eyes..this went against everything she knew about him as her mom told her that Jalen was a vicious anti-social person..

"(This doesn't make any sense...The fact that he's here means nothing...he's still an monster..)" She grits her teeth as Jalen and Kana continues to talk. "So...You're a trainer?" Jalen questions Kana who look down with a frown. "Well..kinda..." He raise an eyebrow, allowing the younger boy to continue. "I got my monster when I was pretty young ...Uhhh..I..never met my parents...Alexis's mom raised me along with her."

"(Regina did that?") Jalen cast a curious look at Alexis who nods.. "Yeah..and when she passed away, Alexis took up the mantle of raising me, picking up Miss Branwen's work." "....She did, huh?" He glances at a Blushing Alexis "(She's nicer than she looks..)"


Jalen return his eyes to Kana before nodding... "Very well..."  He walk away from the little kid before stopping before the 2 princesses. Or rather, Lucina while Severa hides behind her, making Jalen ignore the younger one for now as he stands before the elder sibling at the moment. "Mr. Pruett...It's a honor to finally introduce myself." Lucina smiles and bow before him, prompting a shocked gasp from Severa and a raised eyebrow from Jalen. "I've heard many tales of your exploits from both the arena and the war grounds..."She rise up with a look of respect to him. "Never would I imagine I would meet the Platinum Star himself..."

"...mmm.." It would seem that Jalen's still not comfortable with the fact that he have killed over a thousand people in the future still judging from his scowl.. "You don't have to call me Mr. Pruett.." He turn his face to the rest.. "That goes for all of you.."

"I see..."Lucina muses over this, perhaps she was sorta wrong about how Jalen would feel regarding his war efforts. She thought that he was just annoyed by Owain's traits from earlier. But maybe she was wrong about him on that end. She certainly isn't wrong about his power thanks to Alex's boasts and what she've seen in the Togle Cave. "I shall respect your wishes...." She bite her lips with a pained look.. "....Jalen.."

Jalen nods as she turn to her sister with a smile. "You haven't met my sister, have you? She's Severa Lowell." She rustles her black hair that's dyed, making Severa roll her eyes at her sister's teasing act. "She's as brittle as a Pixie, but deep down, she's a nice gal."

"(Extremely deep down...)" Alexis scoffs to herself with Jalen staring at Severa who refuses to look at him, looking at the grass with the autumn leaves on it. "......" "(She doesn't wanna say anything...)" Lucina frowns as Jalen closes his eyes and walk off. "Well, no need to make her feel more nervous..."  As he walk off, Severa grits her teeth, but fail to find the courage to say the insults she wanted to yell at him.

"(DAMNIT, HOW CAN I BE SO WEAK!?!?)"

Meanwhile..Jalen finally stops at a smirking Alexis..
"......."
".....So you know the truth, pops..."

She crosses her arms as he scoffs. "Well now I do, and it should had been obvious.." She wags her finger at him, knowing that he's lying deep down. "And yet you didn't solved the case..." "Whatever..." He turn away and walk off to not see his daughter's giggling face as he soon turn back around to look at the teens with his haands in his pockets.

"....Let's get down to business....You all have me as your ally, but from henceworth, we are gonna put in a lot of effort to stop that shitty timeline from happening again." All the teens and their monsters listened very carefully as he continues to speak, Marth still behind him as he watches this from the back as Jalen begin to pace back and forth.. "From what Alexis told me, you guys been here for many months and haven't done much training..that ends from today now. I want all monster trainers to buy gadgets and begin entering tourneys..."

"Uhhh..What about our identities? " Owain raise a hand with his question as Jalen point to a started Gerome. "Follow his example and begin wearing masks. Make some fake names and register yourselves to train up and fight in battles."


The trainers all gleam up, finally able to get ready for some combat with other trainers besides themselves. "Furthermore, I believe in the next months, you all need to show yourselves to your parents and tell them what's going on...the more allies we get, the better we can be off in the future."

At this, they all pale a bit with Jalen rolling his eyes before Lucina clears her throat, she have a good idea with this... "Very well...we accept." She knows everyone is giving her looks of betrayal as she see Jalen about to speak up, so she put her hand up. "IF...You take up my deal..."

Jalen put his hands in his pockets and scowl... "Go on..." "I would need you to compete in the Liege Cup."
"WHAT!??!?!" Lucina seem not fazed by her sister's sudden yelling.. "LUCI, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE ASKING, RIGHT!!??" "I do..."

"THEN WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?!?"
Lucina shakes her head with Jalen and everyone else looking lost.. "It's simple really..Jalen's right in that we need to speak to our parents, and what's better way than for him to win the cup that would net him the chance to meet our father and introduce ourselves?"

"......" Severa hates when her sister use logic as Alexis have her own opinions on this. "(Well, when dad wins, he will go to Nohr..where we can meet mom..)" "Pops...." She call Jalen out to get his attention and nods at him. He groans and mutters "good grief...." And speak up with a frown. "Fine..I'll take that deal."

"Fascinating!" Lucina gives him a thumbs up, happy to hear his agreement as he shrugs and walk away..

"We got a deal...now excuse me as I go back home.."
Jalen call out as he get in his car and begin to drive off....leaving the teens to their thoughts for the time being until next time.
