Hello [Representative],
When people speak of “Western Civilization” they often refer to its foundation known as the Enlightenment. The Enlightenment included tolerance for sufficiently compatible religions and cultures under one political system, the natural rights of man alongside the role of the state in their protection, the then radical idea that maybe just maybe people are capable of looking after themselves, the free marketplace of ideas where minority viewpoints need protection known as the freedom of speech (which a disturbing number of our countrymen wrongly conflate with the First Amendment when they are not exactly the same thing), the concepts of the consent of the governed and the social contract, and others. These ideas should sound familiar as they are the philosophical underpinnings of our great Republic.
Your job is to actively protect and ENFORCE these concepts as much as possible wherever you even THINK you might have the authority lest despotic forces slowly but surely subvert them as we are already witnessing. Be ruthless and unyielding for evil shows no quarter and must therefore be given none. This must be an intrinsic aspect of American culture for politics is downstream from culture.
As one of your constituents I have given you your orders. Carry them out to the best of your ability.
