  1. 2019-01-15 Dead Drop
  2. Hoxton, Sydney, Dallas
  3.
  4. [18:47:31] <Dallas> *Let's take a moment to set the scene as we last left it. Broken window? Check. Frigid wind pouring through the frame? Check. Dead body on the floor seeping blood? Check and check. In a numb confusion, Dallas helps clean up the place. First order of business, get rid of the blood once Hox has bagged the body. Then, after a tense wait for cops to come snooping, call and arrange an appointment to have someone come over and fix the damn thing before everyone freezes their balls off.*
  5. [18:47:35] <Dallas> *Bain calls a little while later. Says he isn't sure what's going on with this Jimmy character, but let's just observe for now and see what happens. He had the chance to shoot you, but didn't take it. Guy wants something. Let's see what he's willing to give us in return.*
  6. [18:47:40] <Dallas> *Gage makes contact as well. Says he's back in town and ready to meet when they are, and to let him know what sort of merch to bring to the meet. They can come pick up the goods at a riverside warehouse around 2 AM. They get to pick the date.*
  7. [18:50:35] <Dallas> *As for the bank job? Helluva lotta good angles from bystanders during the shootout, including shots traded between Hox and the sniper. Police were too harried to properly enforce the cordon. A number of hostages had to be treated for smoke inhalation, two of them remaining critical.*
  8. [18:54:02] <Dallas> *The news also makes mention of three injured officers and one dead. Two were critical, but are now in stable condition. The one Sydney shot will live.*
  9. [18:55:19] <Hoxton> *Once the guy is bagged and ready for disposal, Hox goes to assess the damage done by the shot. Doesnt take long for him to proclaim that it needs to be fixed asap. "I wont gonna die by freeezin my fucking balls off." The compromised house seems to bother the brit, muttering something about calling backup to sort this out. Hox himself doesnt mention the bank job much besides the occasional cough and hunched way he walks. The bruise is big and goddamn angry and he isnt even entire sure nothing is broken. But the meeting with Gage lifts his spirits somewhat. A vest it's gotta be. A light one and a bigger one. Besides he let's Gage know to show him some good handguns, maybe a sniper rifle and something with a little more stopping power. "Give me fun shite."*
  10. [18:56:17] <Dallas> *Gage's response comes in rather quickly. "I think you'll like what I set aside for you."*
  11. [18:58:04] <Sydney> *Sydney takes over sweeping up the glass, eventually deciding to hang onto the bulk of it for art purposes. Never know when you could use it!*
  12. [19:01:07] <Sydney> *Sydney sends along to Gage that she's not 100% sure what she's looking for, but will happily browse SMGs, LMGs, and rocket launchers. She admits to herself that she probably won't be able to reasonably afford or realistically use the latter two, but when else will she get the opportunity to even see one?*
  13. [19:01:57] <Hoxton> *Hox has moved his cot downstairs where it is a little more sheltered from the cold. And definitely looking forward to see what gage has cooked up for him.*
  14. [19:03:03] <Sydney> ((oh, and also Sydney's sent along her measurements for the custom vest))
  15. [19:04:07] <Hoxton> ((Hox has too! :D))
  16. [19:04:47] <Sydney> ((oh, and grenades))
  17. [19:06:07] <Dallas> *Gage has this to say about Sydney's request for big guns and big explosions: "Consider it done." It's gotten pretty chilly in the safehouse, some flurries blowing in. With the blood scrubbed and glass cleaned up, Dallas wastes no time nailing some boards over the empty frame. Temporary solution at best. He asks them to help carry some of their more suspicious boxes downstairs into the bunker before the windows guy comes over.*
  18. [19:06:22] <Dallas> *When are you guys ready to buy from Gage?*
  19. [19:06:50] <Sydney> ((Has Bain delivered their cuts yet?))
  20. [19:07:34] <Dallas> ((Not yet! Gonna wait for it?))
  21. [19:08:39] <Sydney> ((yeah! Sydney legitimately wants to blow almost her entire take for this job, the previous one, and the christmas bonus on guns))
  22. [19:08:53] <Hoxton> *Hox goes to try and help wit the boxes, but struggling visibly with the heavier ones. But he soldiers on with clenched teeth, trying his best to help them move the stuff. Asking with clenched teeth for a warmer blanket and maybe another pillows. "Not the ones from upstairs. Not keen on sharin em with lice."*
  23. [19:13:02] <Dallas> *Dallas goes off into the storage, rummaging around. He comes up with a tightly rolled sleeping bag. Camo, mummy-style. Chains' backup plan in case he needs to crash at the safehouse, but since he's away with his girlfriend, surely he won't mind Hox borrowing it.*
  24. [19:14:14] <Sydney> *Sydney helps out with the boxes as well, though she keeps her winter coat on at all times. She's still getting used to the winter here.*
  25. [19:19:03] <Hoxton> *Appreciate though Hox keeps on muttering to get those other Jimmy fellas for good measure. The laptop and evidence also gets moved downstairs, just to keep nosy neighbors away. Or the lonely cop checking.*
  26. [19:33:48] <Dallas> *No news from Bain that night. A cold gray morning dawns over the safehouse, and around noon, Bain sends them a message letting them know the gold is good, and their cut is ready for them at the usual drop point. Dallas seems at first a little wary of letting Sydney in on the place, but after what they've all been through together--he offers to take them both there, show them the spot in case anything ever happens and they need to make the trip themselves. Any takers?*
  27. [19:35:52] <Hoxton> *Hox will definitely come. And even speak up in favor for Sydney. She covered him at the shootout and that speaks for her, he says. And in general, getting their shares in good, solid money...yeah. That's the best part*
  28. [19:37:22] <Hoxton> *And after what is probably a little too long, Hox thanks both for helping with the safehouse.*
  29. [19:38:20] <Dallas> Hey, nothing to it. Can't let you freeze to death in here, huh?
  30. [19:38:38] <Sydney> Yeah, no problem mate. Wouldn't wanna live there meself like that.
  31. [19:39:46] <Hoxton> Cheers. Freezin without at least one bullet fired? Yeah, no thanks. Borin like that. Still, hope that window fella will be here quick. Colds bloody seepin into the basement.*
  32. [19:43:16] <Dallas> *Dallas checks his watch, says they got time to pick up the cash first, coaxing them both into the car. Quiet drive in the snow. Maybe ten, fifteen minutes, and then he stops outside a bizarrely familiar building. Bodhi's Dry Cleaning--only this one's open for business.*
  33. [19:43:55] <Sydney> Huh. Didn't realize it was a franchise.
  34. [19:48:03] <Hoxton> Oh wha? There are more of those places? *he steps out, looking around* Who is this bodhi even?
  35. [19:53:24] <Dallas> *Past the wrought iron secured door with the OPEN sign, it's warm in the laundromat, with that certain familiar dingy feel the safehouse is steeped in. But business here, while not booming, is steadily dragging itself along, and there's a grim looking woman at the counter. Dallas gives her a tight smile, leads the way to the storage lockers for rent by the wall. Top left in the corner, secured by a combination lock. He deftly spins the thing open, going slow so they can see the combination, lets them do the honors.*
  36. [19:53:28] <Dallas> *Inside, two chubby duffel bags with their cut of the take in bundles of crisp bills.*
  37. [19:57:29] <Sydney> *Sydney steps forward, eager to pick up one of the bags. She manages to restrain her celebrations for the time being, seeing as there's civilians around. There's an undeniable gleam in her eye, however.*
  38. [19:57:30] <Hoxton> Aw yeah look at that, fellas. *He strides in, limping but looking very much satisfied. He grabs one of the bags, grinning.* Now i am bloody ready to go shoppin.
  39. [19:57:49] <Hoxton> Cheers, big fella. Got your share already?
  40. [20:00:02] <Dallas> *Dallas just smiles. He might go on about being too old for this shit, but you can't say no to this kinda enthusiasm right here. It's contagious. He keeps quiet till they're safely back to the car, says* I'll let Gage know. How's tonight sound?
  41. [20:01:25] <Sydney> Aces! *Her grin grows wider and wider as they draw closer to the car, a spring in her step.*
  42. [20:08:09] <Hoxton> Yeah. Gage said I'll love what he's sorted out for me. *He leans back, pondering* Cant deny that fella eh?
  43. [20:09:14] <Sydney> He seems like a nice guy. Only met him the once, but I didn't have this kind of cash to spend then.
  44. [20:11:29] <Dallas> The man knows his weapons, that's for damn sure. He'll get you two sorted. *All that money safely tucked away in the bags, Dallas drives them back to the safehouse. Sadly, making it rain's gonna have to wait a little longer. The repairman turns up to deal with their window. Friendly guy, blissfully unaware of the dark criminal underbelly lurking downstairs. Still some hours to burn. Dallas offers to stay behind to keep an eye on things if you guys need to leave to do anything.*
  45. [20:13:42] <Hoxton> *Hox moves downstairs while the guy is working the windows. Not sure if that guy might recognize his face or something, he curls up on his cot for the time being. A little sour-looking maybe. And he needs the rest of his cut on a bank account. Might call Bain to set one up for him and get the cuts transferred there.*
  46. [20:14:08] <Dallas> ((Bain should probably have done that by now. Just an offshore?))
  47. [20:15:33] <Sydney> *Sydney sticks around at the safehouse, spending some time sorting through the bits of glass she'd collected earlier, playing around with arranging them.*
  48. [20:15:35] <Hoxton> ((Hmm. Or maybe just a little left in crisp bills. But most off to his account!))
  49. [20:16:10] <Dallas> ((He can talk to Bain, decide on a percentage that best suits him.))
  50. [20:16:17] <Sydney> ((Sydney might ask for an offshore once she actually has more money than she knows what to do with, but for now she's all dealing in cash))
  51. [20:16:31] <Hoxton> ((Sounds good! He'll let Bain know after heists!))
  52. [20:22:18] <Dallas> *Couple hours later, the dark deed is done. A new pane of glass stands in the frame, nice and clean--as Dallas would say, everything just as you left it, only better. Dallas slips the repairman a fat tip, and he leaves without any fuss.*
  53. [20:22:39] <Dallas> *Money--it's money. The tip is money.*
