- "That sounds harsh Miss Flores, let's see if we can't get this started as quickly as possible. I know that this is hard, but I want you to take the adamantine with the metal tongues, and hold it over the fire for about an hour, you think you can manage that for me? The orichalcum will need to be melted down so that I can start making the wire frame of the hand first." Orichalcum was always the best metal to use for a skeletal frame. It was malleable enough to shape easily, and its high magical properties allowed for easy mana flow.
- The crucible was finished preheating, and the orichalcum was dropped into the pot, "The Mithril will be installed with the runic command, since mithril is moderately magical but also hard, it will serve as the casing for the orichalcum frame. Three layered metals. Some of the adamantine will be mixed into the mithril, but only after it has been heated. From the specs you gave me, you have very large hands for a woman, but then again, you were always so tall!!" She smiled, doing her best to cheer up the young swordsman as she continues her work in the forge.
- "Once the Adamantine is heated enough, we will need to spread out the purity content within the metal before we melt it down. When it's melted down, we will mix it with only a tiny bit of mithril to give it a bit more magical content. Once the hand is made, it we will need to break it in for a while, this will take some days, so we have to work hard, are you ready Miss Floures?" The flames shift to a bright gold, and with that, she moves to the runic circle and began to channel her mana into the command.
- (Akroma Rei)
- "Sure. You know my gauntlet?"
- Rosaline held up her right arm once the measurements were done, showing off the fine craftsmanship of the armguard she donned. Crimson scales of a chimera glimmered overtop of it.
- "I helped in making it. I'm sort of experienced, for someone who doesn't really hold an interest in smithing."
- With that, she rose up from her seat and retrieved the mithril from the bag. Her glove was procured again, and once slipped on with the help of her teeth, she placed the orichalcum in the tongs and began to heat it over the fire. Soon enough, the edges of the ore shimmered, but it would take a bit longer for it to be malleable enough for Akroma to work.
- (Rosaline Floures)
- The circle was set, and the mithril's command had been received. She watches the adamantine hit up in the kiln, smiling as her former Chief's demeanor was close to her old self. Flames crackles while the orichalcum turns into a slime of pink and gold, being purified of its blemishes a releasing a small pouch of smoke into the air. The chimney bursts with ash and soot, and the ladle turns continuously, shifting from clockwise to counter clockwise, ensuring even consistency within the metal. She walks over to the cooling tank and begins to fill the tub with icy cold water.
- While the water is running, the giant molding tray is placed under the crucible, the oricalum was nearly complete. So much to do, so many details to deal with, but this was for her hand, for her swordsmanship, and for her pride. The road to recovery was always one of struggle and effort, but the effort would always be there in the end of it all. She moves back to the drawing table, taking her chalk and drawing a second runic circle within the confines of the first. This one would take a while to prepare, but slowly she would channel the force of her holy fire into the circle.
- "The second circle is for the orichalcum, once I place it into the molding tray, I'm gonna dunk it in the cooling tank for it to harden a little bit. Then I'll get started with this mithril and adamantine, but first I got to draw a quick rune onto the molding tray. Orichalcum is really soft, and we need it to harden as quickly as possible without cracking when it hits the cold water. When your finished with the Adamantine, start pounding it out on the anvil and I'll come to help you ok?"
- (Akroma Rei)
- Rosaline continued the mindless job of holding the ore over the fire. Her attention wandered, plunged into the confines of her thoughts. However, when the metal's entirety glimmered and glowed like an ember, Rosaline knew it was done.
- With haste and purpose, Rosaline moved across the room and sat the glowing metal atop the anvil. The hammer was taken, and like she had seen her previous blacksmith do, she began to pound it out. The sound of metal against metal reverberated throughout the smithy, echoing and clattering in a manner that would be annoying to even the most patient person.
- Finally, she was finished. Rosaline's free elbow moved to wipe sweat from her brow, and with her other hand, she waved Akroma over.
- "I'm done."
- (Rosaline Floures)
- "Alright, thank you Rosaline!"
- With that, she began to pour the orichalcum out into the molding sheet, watching the liquid react with her tiny rune and begin to slowly harden while hot. She quickly closes the bottom of the crucible and places the Mithril inside, moving the tray over to the cooling tank, and taking a quick ten second breather. "Alright Miss Floures, I'm going to need you to stir the pot while I do the second round of pounding on the adamantine, when the flames shift to violet again, please let me know so I can add a piece of the adamantine."
- The time passed for the orichalcum to cool, and with haste she lifted the plate out, placing it onto the table. Without any hesitation she began to cut the orichalcum into small flakes, rolling them into tiny connective tubes and placing them onto the runic circle. Her attention soon shifts towards the adamantine. With the hammer, she begins to *fold, and pound* at the ingot non stop. The reverberations of the strikes shake the tools in the room, while she works, she looks over to Rosaline to see her progress with churning the Mithril for purity.
- "It's like making soup almost ha-ha, I know it's not fun, but I don't want to put too much stress on you with only one hand. Forgive me if you're getting a little bit bored." Her words are hard to hear over the bubbling of metal, the sound of crackling flames, and the pounding of even more metal, but she did her best to keep the conversation going. As the adamantine began to harden, she took the metal tongues and placed it back into the fire, she was going to need a small piece to melt into the mirthril once it was ready.

- With a nod, Rosaline was on the move. She worked diligently and with purpose -- each part of this process was crucial. This would be her new hand, after all! But for now, she had to work with her old one. She stirred away, staring down into the pot as if it held the mysteries of the world.
- "Don't worry, it's better than what I have been doing. I'm not allowed to leave Byson. It's too dangerous. I might get out soon, though."
- Minutes passed, and then something changed within the flames... they shimmered a radiant violet, lighting up the room in a pink light. Rosaline was entrapped in their hue for a moment, but then she snapped back to reality!
- "The fire is purple," she called to Akroma over the pounding of her hammer, "get over here."
- (Rosaline Floures)
- She snaps a small piece of soft adamantine with her anvil, using her mana to hold the piece with her hands. "Alright thank you very much Miss Floures, this part is going to be much, much easier for us both." She drops the piece of adamantine into the fire, moving back to the orichalcum and cutting it into more pieces. "Alright you'll need to churn that again, and once it's done, empty it into this molding tray. " She pushes the tray under the crucible and begins to fuse the pieces of rolled up orichalcum together.
- "I remember forging Chloe's hand, I always hated this part of the process, making the skeleton was always so tedious, have to be exact or else the hand won't function smoothly you know. Fingers were normally the hardest part but your hands are so large so this is actually not that bad. Once we finished here, it will be a breeze to coat the hand in the other metals. So tell me more about you and Cain, you are having a bit of struggle with him. I know that Auntie has been...less than moral, but Cain has a duty to his state, he is a man of one track conviction in the end. I just hope that it doesn't lead him to any trouble."

- Rosaline's stirring was disrupted once the question was prompted. She grew silent for a moment, and then her stirring resumed, wordlessly at first. What felt like an eternity passed as she formulated the correct words.
- "Alexandra has been manipulating him," she began, "and tried to kill me, and has commited various... other crimes that I cannot reveal to you because I am bound by secrecy. For a long time, he didn't get it. He refused to see."
- A pause grew pregnant between them, long and exaggerated, before finally, she spoke again.
- "But finally, he broke. He found out. He got what I was trying to tell him. He said he was going to go and tell her he was leaving. That he was going to leave her army and go elsewhere."
- "I haven't seen him sense."
- Her gaze grew weary as she stared into the fire she stirred so loyally -- more loyal than she had been to any cause she commited herself to over the past ten years. The Avis could only improve her so much, and the Unconquered could only last so long. The Wraith guard was growing dull, and Byson's use for help was running low. The only thing she had remained utterly loyal to over all these years was Cain, and even now, that was running thin.
- Hell, even her loyalty to the fire was beginning to dwindle until it became time to remove the metal. She was wordless as she moved for the tongs and retrieved the stuff from the fire. Like Akroma told her to, it was dropped into the molding tray.
