The better aspects of /bant/ is that it is /b/ without a theme and feels separate from /v/-/r9k/-/pol/ common culture of 4chan at the moment. The bad aspects appear to be that people don;t know what to do most of the time, and they a tendency to reply to bait.

Generally /bant/ is a pretty good place. The people are nice and a lot of the stuff that get's posted is pretty funny or interesting. However one of my problems with /bant/ is that on a flip of a dime we enter long spells of repetitive entertaining shit. Of course we eventually come out of it, but it can get obnoxious and lead to me taking "vacations" from the board, which is a shame because it's the only board I visit regularly. I rate /bant/ 3.5/5.

For me, /bant/ has the potential to have nice memes, nice people and a community. I expected this to be a mash of /int/ and /s4s/, and I am quite right in a good way. It's a better /b/ with flags but also blue so it's not loaded down with furry porn like /trash/. These are both good and bad aspects.

"Positive: Great community, niceposting is encouraged, good OC (Simon, Polish Yuukaposter). The best thing about the board is how distinct its culture is. People love to say how the board is just a spinoff of boards X, Y, and Z, or it's X-lite, but really /bant/ is its own little place. It has slow enough traffic to avoid becoming a terrible board flooded by retards, but the traffic is fast enough where asking a question doesn't result in not getting a reply for an hour. It's at the perfect middle spot there, though maybe it could be a little bit faster without problems. I like that people are generally respectful of threads, too; the K-Pop thread is the best example here. People don't seem to mind that they stay in their own thread and I think that's wonderful. And the K-Pop guys stay in their own thread and don't start flooding other threads out of spite or anything like that.
Negative: Some of the banter that gets spammed is very boring. The mutt meme, for instance. It's one thing to bring it up once in a while, but when there are entire threads dedicated to the meme it just starts becoming tedious, like any forced meme. Obviously the imptrash is a big problem, but I think people have gotten used to ignoring it better and fortunately we haven't seen any bad fallout from them being moved here.  I really don't think there are too many negatives I can put here since /bant/ is a great board and my favorite ever since it was created."
