  21. Once more into the breach, dear friends, once more. But it's the same universe I was in, simply at the end of that decade, where I've been using time shenanigans to clean up after myselves. Unfortunately, playing so loose has had repercussions and there are those who wish to impose their own order, of a sort, rather than the chaos I'd been unleashing.
  22.
  23. Truly, though, this should be a nightmare of a scenario that I find myself walking into. Thanos has effective control of the universe, if not absolute, thanks to his wielding of the Infinity Gauntlet. The universe itself wishes to undo the cycle its has undergone and restore itself to how it was in the first place. And then the annihilation wave just... wants to completely remove it.
  24.
  25. And all of them look at me, a singular existence that casts a shadow over their entire, and find that they have no direct power over me. And so their three-way war gains another player, with the aim of eliminating me so they can eliminate each other and have the universe (or lack thereof) that they prefer.
  26.
  27. The first to go, however, has to be Annihilus. Because, to be terribly honest, I am unimpressed by him. Oh, you enslaved Galactus after I got him to not get eaten by zombies again? Yeah, turns out he's just a speed bump to most folks anymore, and I was mainlining the Power Cosmic thousands of years ago. That's a very nice control rod you have there, it would be very impressive if it could actually touch me and if I couldn't just decide to be elsewhere when you throw planetoids at my face.
  28.
  29. Or when I decide to not play around anymore and just teleport in front of him and shoot him in the face with my weapon.
  30.
  31. No amount of fuckery with the Cosmic Control Rod will stop a bullet that not only will hit you instantly without the need to traverse the space in between, but that will actively enforce the idea that you can die and that it can and will absolutely kill anything it hits immediately. Thank you for playing, Annihilus.
  32.
  33. Thanos had a slightly brighter idea, in that he saw me coming and attempted to deport me, sending me to another universe. And it worked, but not before I was able to strike him with a single blow. Physical damage was not my goal, though - that, instead, was inflicting an infomorph copy of myself upon him. For what use is an Infinity Gauntlet when you can no longer snap your fingers? No longer even think to, until your mind thinks only what I want it to?
  34.
  35. With a quick snap, the hole to another universe was opened and I returned. And Thanos screamed internally as he witnessed his body kneel, witnessed his body remove the Infinity Gauntlet and gift it to me. Thanos continued screaming into his own mind even as his body dissolved into ash with another snap.
  36.
  37. It took more effort to deal with the First Firmament. Not the mere snap of fingers, but the actual expenditure of effort. Starting with the pawns that it moved around, the corruption it spread, because the Infinity Gems could simply separate what belonged in this universe and what didn't. That which did not belong was no longer able to affect that which did.
  38.
  39. Allow me to emphasize: the Infinity Gems could simply separate what belonged in this universe and what didn't.
  40.
  41. The First Firmament was unceremoniously compressed into something roughly the size and shape of a man (a hole in the universe the size and shape of a man, which filled itself with a decrepit and abruptly powerless universe), and bound. Naturally, it chose to have its villainous breakdown and rant, while it tried to find a way to get free of its bindings.
  42.
  43. It was probably halfway through its entire speech when I interrupted it with, "behold the field in which I grow my fucks and see that it is barren", and shot it in the face.
  44.
  45. Rather an anticlimax for such a grand threat to be taken out by what is in the end an overglorified a man with a gun, all considered. A deserved one.
