  1. Elster is a replika unit. Who has been replicated from a Gestalt(Im guessing humans) for 'x' amount of times. During a mission to find new unexplored worlds they enter cycles. Not sure what that translates to human equivalent. But in cycle 3000 she and her I'm assuming Gestalt officer got close with one another and became lovers? Fast forward a bit more and Elster awakens on the ship alone and must find her to keep their promise. Fast forward to the ending and it turns out All other Replika's we face got corrupted overtime with various issues. Hence why they no longer look like Replika units like us. We see normal ones as NPC's, face them as enemies. And even see some deteriorate before our eyes like Isa(Though I think she is a Gestalt tbh). Replika units suffer from constant duplication from the original template and thus each new iteration will slowly overtime corrode physically and mentally. Much like how a fake cannot surpass the original. Except Replika's can live longer than Gestalts due to their body being pretty much technorganic. Which is why Ariane who is a Gestalt has her hair turn white and Elster who's hair still doesn't turn white due to aging or more cycles. The fragments we see in the game are her distorted memories from which she had repeated cycles trying to fulfill her promise to Ariane. I think. I got the memory ending. So Ariane didn't recognize me. Promise had me kill her. And lily the secret ending seems like a better one to have for best closure. Leave is oof not being able to keep the promise. So I'd rank it Secret > Promise > Memory > Leave

  5. Seems each chapter of the game represents new cycles of Elster trying to reach Ariane; this is exemplified when we come back to seeing ourselves in the mirror and the state of the station changed each time becoming more sinister. Done by Bioresonance used by Ariane which tries to push Elster to her. Which can alter reality, and could be given form by Ariane’s nightmares given manifestation in reality. First person view scenes in the game are flashbacks of Ariane. Maybe. Hmm…
