  1. I wish for my middle sister to back-pay me $0.50/mile ($0.25 after first 100 miles) for wasting my time to drive her places when inconvenient for me, ESPECIALLY when old enough to have her own license and borrow my car.
  2.
  3. To include fuel costs may altogether amount to <$1/mile, so fuel costs AREN'T deducted. Besides, I wish for pay for my labor.
  4.
  5. If a taxi took her, she'd have spent $1.60/mile or $2/mile, depending on when trip was made, so I'm actually proposing a pretty generous deal.
  6.
  7. For more generosity, I don't account detours, diversions or side-trips that added miles on these trips. I am strictly using Google Maps's shortest suggested routes.
  8.
  9. August 2009:
  10. Failed high school boyfriend "rescue":
  11. 236 miles from Manhattan, KS to Highway UU, Collins, MO --> 6.5 miles From Highway UU to boyfriend's mother's office in Humansville --> 124 miles to a good friend's house in Kansas City, KS --> 119 miles from that friend's house back to Manhattan.
  12. $50 for first 100 miles. ~$96.50 for remaining 385.5 on round-trip. (Was originally $96.375; rounded up to account for long, rocky driveway from Highway UU to their decaying property.) Total owed: $146.50
  13.
  14. Various times:
  15. Friends drop her at parking lot near Exit 313 of I-70; taking her to apartment was "too far out of the way" for them:
  16. Repeated on at least 3 occasions.
  17. 10 miles from apartment to parking lot; ~60 miles for 3 occasions.
  18. Total owed: $30 for the estimated 60 miles driven.
  19.
  20. December 2011:
  21. Public Witness signatures at bank:
  22. Total trips were ~13 miles; To the student union (whose mini-branch closed too soon) --> to the bank on Claflin --> then back home (to pick up a birth certificate) --> to the bank again --> to the police station (to pick up her lost ID; needed another form of ID) --> then back to her boyfriend's apartment (to drop him off at his strong insistence) --> then back to the police station (to pick her up) --> back to the bank (to FINALLY get some witness signatures signed) --> then back home.
  23. Some public witnesses (bank employees) had to sign for a loan that my sister was giving to her boyfriend so he'd still be legally bound to pay her back in case he broke up with her and ran with it. Turns out, she needed some forms of ID that she didn't have on her when she first came. I had to waste extra time and gas to take her to fetch them.
  24. Total owed: $6.50 for the estimated 13 miles driven.
  25.
  26. March 2012:
  27. To take her to her court-date far from home:
  28. ~88.5 miles from Manhattan, KS to Lindsborg, KS; 177 miles total.
  29. She promised to find rides but somehow couldn't, so I was forced to take her. Again, she was old enough to have her own license. I'd have been fine to let her borrow my car.
  30. Mercifully enough, someone else took her back to Manhattan after bringing her to see court in Wichita.
  31. $50 for first 100 miles. $19.25 for the remaining 77. Total owed: $69.25
  32.
  33. December 2012:
  34. To drive her from Lawrence to our family's home for Christmas:
  35. ~86 miles from my apartment to Lawrence --> ~166 miles from Lawrence to Lindsborg (Drove on non-Interstate highways to avoid tolls); 252 miles total.
  36. Thankfully, Dad brought her back home for me sometime after Christmas.
  37. $50 for first 100 miles. $38 for the remaining 152. Total owed: $88
  38.
  39. TOTALS OWED:
  40. $146.50 from August 2009
  41. $30 from the various times I picked her up near the interstate
  42. $6.50 from December 2011
  43. $69.25 from March 2012
  44. $88 from December 2012
  45.
  46. GRAND TOTAL OWED:
  47. $340.25
  48.
  49. Note that I didn't include prior Christmas trips home; they weren't inconvenient; I had planned on seeing family for Christmas anyway, so we combined the same trip therefore she doesn't owe me for any of those. She only owes for trips that were actual inconveniences; that I hadn't planned on taking but a need or a want of hers compelled her to make me drive her places.
