  1. I will be switching back to Windows, and possibly taking a break for a while
  2.
  3. Why?
  4.
  5. Sadly, As much as I love Linux and (some) parts of the community. Major software companies still do not want to support Linux. Especially the music industry.
  6. As a musician myself, I've encountered countless issues setting up my Digital Audio Workstation to run properly on my machine. Some of you may simply say "Oh, Just use X instead then lolol", But this still doesn't address the issue. Sometimes you'll just have to deal with closed-source software because it's simply too unique.
  7.
  8. There's also the factor of my personal life. There are simply no one else to help around developing Ultramarine Linux as it seems to simply be just rebranded Fedora. (which it probably was). I've realized I've started something that I probably can't stop myself and I should've just gone back to a simple COPR repository. The responsibility here feels overwhelming. I've actually been considering stepping down from Ultramarine for a while now, but I'm too scared to admit it.
  9.
  10. You could also say we have repeated history again, Ultramarine has now suffered the same fate as the Korora Project.
  11.
  12. What will happen to Ultramarine?
  13.
  14. Best case scenario: someone else takes over, and I come back in a few months.
  15. Worst case scenario: this project is officially discontinued.
  16. Another possible scenario: Ultramarine gets downscaled as simply an extended Fedora repository, and maybe, just maybe, get merged into RPMFusion itself.
  17.
  18. I'm looking for a new maintainer to pass the torch to. I will be willing to give SSH credentials and admin access to all the Ultramarine servers, plus instructions on how to actually do the job. Please contact us if you would like to be the new maintainer.
  19.
  20. And with that, I will be stepping down from Ultramarine Linux.
  21.
  22. It's been a good run.
  23.
  24. Cappy Ishihara, signing out.
