KH mod

Over the past few days we have experienced a lot of changes to the KH moderation team, several of the moderators have left and I am very sad to see them go, their opinions were always valued and they did some good work while they were here.

With this in mind I set up a poll a few days ago seeing who would be interested in becoming a KH moderator. From this we received roughly twenty applicants and was pleasently surprised that not a single person triggered my "You didn't take this seriously / read the survey" honey-pot with Vcast.

From those twenty applicants we reduced the numbers down to 8 based on a variety of factors such as how active you were at the games and your over all reputation within the community. Once we had these 8 we combined them with the KH mods staying on and compiled a mod list for each game.

So what exactly changes for Kingdom Hearts Moderation?

First of all we will now have a total of 14 moderators split across all of the games the largest being KH2 and BBS both of which have 4 moderators. We believe that having people specialized in each game will prevent mistakes in verification and best help change the direction of each game within the franchise.

Secondly we will severely be reducing the amount of series moderators. At the time of writing the only person we unanimously agree upon is Sonic, however one or two more people may be added to this to cover ground.

Thirdly we will be more open when it comes to how we moderate, in the past the KH moderation team has worked behind closed doors through the use of a private discord server. I am proposing that we address our opinions in a more public setting such as within a read only channel in the general KH discord, that way people can at least see our rational behind decisions rather than believing their wishes are just falling on deaf ears.

Lastly I hope we will be improving our communication to the wider KH community. At the end of the day this is supposed to be about having fun and enjoying ourselves and as such I hope that people can come to any of the moderators with any problems they may have or just to talk in general.

In a group as large as this it is only natural for people to assume someone is a certain way as no one has time to properly meet or interact with everyone and these assumptions are a large part of what has caused hostility and friction between people in the past, I hope that people remember this and remember that the best way to deal with any problem is to talk to one another.

With all that said I would like to introduce the new members of the KH moderation team and what games each moderator will now be looking after.
