ANALYSIS: The USA elections will end up badly regardless of the outcome

Just like every two years, America is hyping itself up towards the "deciding election", and the "most important event in the entire generation". The difference this time is that nobody really believes this news hysteria. And that it's actually partially true this time.

For democrats, who still can't swallow the fact they had to get out of the White House for someone like Donald Trump, the elections are a ray of hope in the darkness of hopelessness, the opportunity for a vendetta, and a chance to step on the throat of someone they hate.

It is supposed to be a satisfaction, revenge, and opening the gates for an impeachment all in one. But most importantly, it is supposed to be a confirmation that all has just been a bad dream, that America, in its core, is completely different than it seems to be. That it is as they want, because what they want, is the only correct thing.

Democrats see Trump as a dangerous force, maybe even an actual outside force planted by others, which transforms America into something principially different. Mostly because the correct America is the one they have dreamt in university classes, where a discordant voice cannot be heard.

The headers in American, mostly pro-democratic, medias therefore announce that Tuesday's vote will be against hatred, to prevent the establishment of Hateful States of America, and that the day of revenge is coming.

This has a problem: There's another America here. The one which voted for Trump two years ago, or maybe didn't even vote at all - but it definitely doesn't want someone to tell them, how the country, their life, private life, and say, the gender of their children is supposed to look like - because that someone thinks it's progressive for everyone - maybe even including those incoming in the Central American convoy.

The campaign before any American elections gives off an untrue feeling that the entire country lives with politics. Usually it isn't, so the goal of both parties is to get people off their couches and get them into the ballots. We'll see if the turnout will be confirmed, but it seems that something is changing in America. The country is being politicized as much as it's being polarized.

The more outrage democrats have against Trump, the more they become radical and are moved towards the left. Older people in the leadership of the party are now pressured by younger radicals, which should they be in Europe, would be classified as Greens or Pirates in an instant. The more outrage there is, the more republicans - who would usually stay hidden in the party's mainstream - break off into radicalism as well.

The American scissors are opening up with each party turning off to the side. It's a classic story known everywhere - the vocal minority is taking the politics for itself.

This has one more problem: Tuesday's elections will soon have results, but in long term, won't actually solve anything. There are three basic outcomes:

1) Democrats win the entire Congress, gain control over the House and Senate - this will be a confirmation of their truth. They'll try to "fix" the remaining two years and Trump's presidency will be down to a wheelchair. This will radicalize the republicans.

2) Democrats gain the House, Republicans keep the Senate. This would basically be a victory for Trump - he keeps a shield in the Congress. The result: more attrition fighting.

3) Republicans keep the House and the Senate, even though it doesn't seem to be likely. This would be a nuclear result - republicans would feel confirmed in their choices, and democrats would start and outright partisan war. Predictions and history don't seem to support this outcome. Although, two years ago, not a lot of people bet on Trump.

In the Congress elections it's usually the president's party who is punished. After two years from their election, many presidents have completely failed in the mid-elections: Roosevelt, Reagan, Clinton, Bush jr (despite being untouchable because of fighting aginst terrorism), even the revered Obama. Most of them were elected as the "saviours of the people".

The historic trend is obvious, and therefore a lot of media already present the elections as the "Referendum about Trump". If the elections end up like they usually do, they will be pictured as the American re-do of Stalingrad: A decisive turn-around, despite the fact that it happens almost every time.

The main result will stay hidden though - America will be even more divided, regardless of the result.
