  1. In Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, there exist many ways of connecting with different Pokémon. One of those methods is talk connections. Once the epilogue is completed, players are able to get any talk connection possible, however, there is a system governing which Pokémon are available on a given day and which are not.
  2.
  3. Talk connections operate on a 10-day cycle, where at the beginning of the game, a random number between 0 and 9 is chosen. After each day, the number will increment (and return to 0 if it reaches 9) and this number determines which Pokémon are connectable on a given day.
  4.
  5. This cycle continues to until after the player hits 390 connections total (> 50% of the 779 connections), in which case, all Pokémon that can be connected with through talking will become connectable irrespective of the counter. Some Pokémon on extra cycles may not be connectable straight away, but will do so when their counter comes around.
  6.
  7. The goal of this is to completely clarify the cycles that persist within the game and allow players to be able to determine where they are in the cycle and plan accordingly to get the connections they need, as well as allow those near the end of a 100% playthrough to ensure that all loose ends are tied up.
  8.
  9. This is currently a work in progress as not every Pokémon connectable this way has been tested as of yet, and not all counterexamples have been found. It is currently unclear if each area has a separate cycle or if the cycle is consistent for all continents. What has been determined as Day 0 is arbitrary.
  10.
  11. If a Pokémon is listed in a specific town cycle, then either they are always connectable on that day or no counterexample has been found yet. If a Pokémon is listed as always connectable, then they will always be available irrespective of cycle once the conditions have been met. If a Pokémon is listed in Extra Cycles, then it means that they are not guaranteed to be connectable on the day they would be connectable.
