Backstory:
Ariana was born to a woman who had the misfortune of spending the night with a Knight of the Blackened Denarius.
As a result, she was basically born with the Shade of a Fallen in her head. Which had downsides for both of them.
For her, it was the fact that she had a sociopathic invisible friend telling her all sort of not-children appropriate things from young.
For the Shade, it was the fact that Ariana considered them exactly that. A invisible friend. Which meant that as Ariana grew older she got the crazy idea that it was *her* head and *she* was in charge.
Its abilities to manipulate were especially diminished by the fact that since her mother was not exactly around most of the time, it was the primary recipient of teenage rebellion.
Eventually, Ariana managed to get a way out of the ruins of her childhood by becoming a MMA fighter, aided by a begrudging Shade serving as an extra trainer, ending up as a nation-level bantamweight contender.
Eventually, she realized that this was not what she wanted to do the rest of her life and she began to look for another purpose.
She ended up a cop, of all things.
After her time as a uniformed beat cop, she spent the next few years in cybercrime and then, once again aided by her Shade, undercover infiltrating a criminal cartel, bringing her to New Orleans.

Whats the worst that could happen.


Powers:
She has the vast knowledge of a Shade at her disposal, including the 'hey be my camera' type of perfect memory. The Shade can also temporarily give her knowledge and skills, like teaching her how to use a Katana in a second, though this knowledge never stays for long
(Stunt: Pay a FP to be able to use Melee or Thrown Weapon X with Fists for the rest of the Scene)
The shade, being somewhat unwilling to let its host body fail given its own end of existence, gives her a minor healing factor (mainly by directing her own bodies healing to maximum effect) and some minor (stunt level) enhanced strength and speed.
(DFRP Terms: She heals all Consequences one Step Faster, She gets 1 more Stress for Endurance Track and physical damage done and +1 on Athletics. Also, Wizard's Constitution. Not that she noticed yet.)
She's only bantamweight but punches just as hard as the half-a-feet-taller and more muscly Jess (without Invocation) and can tank hits like a super-heavyweight fighter, mainly because the Shade has been guiding her body development to peak human performance since she was twelve. In short, Joey can micromanage Ariana's body to some extent.
Joey *hates* the effect of drugs on Ariana, claiming her Id is an asshole when high and since it resides in Ariana's brain instead of a coin it gets contact high, so she tends to purge its effects from her, allowing Ariana to take drugs for undercover work without issues.
(In turn, Ariana never drinks booze, not wanting to tempt Joey with trying to hijack her drunken body)
She's also a former national-level champion contender of MMA.

Truth is, Joey is less of a proper touch-the-coin Shade and more an...afterimage. An Imprint left by Jophiel's mere presence upon the fertilizing ova. A Shade of a Shade, so to speak.
On the plus side: Joey cannot do such spiffy things like Summon the Coin or paralyses her host because she's much more 'part of her' than, say, Lash was.
Lash was, in some ways, a stomach bacteria. Helpful but can make you sick in the wrong circumstance.
Joey is, more a...Mitochondria. A foreign body incorporated into the system itself.
On the negative side: No Hellfire. No Magic. No Intellectus. Joey would never admit it, but even her memories of anything before Jophiel got sealed into a Coin is...hazy. All broad strokes and no details.

Skills:
Physically: Ariana is a well trained and still honed mixed martial artist. She's not adhering to a specific fighting styles within the MMA sphere but comes at it with a 'Whatever works' approach, with a Shoot boxing base from. Very aggressive, very in your face she's preferring to get a clear take down over a submission. Part of that is that she started training to defend herself against gangmembers and such. If in a real fight, she's also known to use knifes and guns as force multipliers. And thats not counting Joey to help.
Mentally: Ariana is smart and a well trained cop. Before she went undercover she got trained in computer crime methodology and is a expert hacker. In fact, the combination of being a fighter and a hacker was the reason she was tagged for the UC work, as she infiltrated the gang as bodyguard and used that to access their systems to copy data.

Looks:
5'4", slim, B-cups at best. Latin-American. Very athletic but very much bantamweight class.
Shaved her head and wore contacts during her MMA time, but now has her natural brown eyes and a long one-eye-covering pixie cut with shaved sides. She stopped competing with 18.
Has a birthmark that looks like a tattoo of Jophiels angelic sigil on her left shoulderblade, at heart height.



Joey: The 'Shade' of Jophiel, her fathers Fallen. Is basically Jophiel after 20 years of children's care. Still kinda an asshole who thinks human are just useful monkeys. Still loves prying new secrets. But there is simply a level of...resignation in it. A not-spoken-acceptance that getting Ariana to seek out Jophiels current host and wrest the coin from them is...not an attainable short or even a mid-term goal. Maybe never.
And maybe, after 25 years as its own being, Joey isn't really that keen on being subsumed into Jophiel again.
She is certain Uriel finds this *hilarious*, the dick.
And for now to just stay in on the ride, keep its host alive and maybe wait for a better opportunity in the long term. Or at least that's what it tells itself.
Appearance wise, Joey generally just shapes itself like Ariana's twin, maybe with a little more Edgy.
Unlike Lash, Joey has little interest in goading Ariana's Id along. After all, making her more reckless will only endanger it along with Ariana and she'd really not find out if she's going to end up before Daddy Dearest if Ariana bites it.
That would be Awkward.
She's usually willing to help Ariana because if not it'd be stuck in her little room in her brain and get *bored*. That and her innate tendency to seek out knowledge is at the least stimulated by cop work.
Joey's response to Nicodemus going 'Shade, hold her' would be to basically go 'Yeah? Who died and made you Satan, buddy?'
