- SergioAD Hello
- I loved OpenRC
- I am a Manjaro OpenRC user
- simplly awesome
- perfinion :)
- SergioAD I only got some minor but uggly issues
- cilly yes, and I hate >udev-2.08
- and I hate the predictable network names
- SergioAD like the fact that I have needed to downgrade xfce4-power-manager to it's 1.2-05 version because the newer one does not supports upower
- and also I can not be autentificated
- GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: An authentication agent already exists for the given subject
- I only have enabled lxpolkit and polkitd
- what I need to do? I am new on OpenRC
- well it does not supports upower-pm-utils
- why do you not make another power management utils compatible with the newer upower and the newer xfce power manager?
- perfinion ive never really understood what powre management has to do with RC stuff
- i think you need the newer xfce-power-manager which supports the new udev thing
- or something like that
- SergioAD I see
- but the newer Upower does not supports pm now
- systemd focussed -_-
- as Udev replacement I am using eudev

- perfinion oh right yeah the stuff that used to be in upower is now directly in xfce-power-manager
- so you need the latest one
- SergioAD as I said you upower is not compatible anymore with pm, this is so sad
- perfinion yeah im confused i dont know what upower is for if its not for power management
- but i think basically the functionality was put directly into xfce-power-manager
- SergioAD since the lastest upower release they droped all the pm compatibility to trash; If I open xfce power manager on it's lastest version with the lastest upower it will not work
- perfinion check in Manjaro for the absolute latest version
- the version in gentoo is working for me
- SergioAD I see
- perfinion xfce-power-manager can suspend and stuff wit hopenrc
- SergioAD this is your actual power management system? I will ask for it on Manjaro
- perfinion i have xfce-extra/xfce4-power-manager-1.3.0 and sys-power/upower-pm-utils-0.9.23-r2
- they are the stable ones in gentoo
- i think just check what the differences are between manjaro and gentoo
- SergioAD yes
- I will paste our conversation on a pastebin to show it on the Manjaro OpenRC forums
- do you have a problem with that?
- I can do it?
- wich upower version do you use?
- wolf] ahora se llama Corvus`
- perfinion SergioAD: hangon
- SergioAD: there was a news item posted in gentoo a while ago exlaining it
- let me see if i can find it, that will be better for you
- SergioAD Ok?
- Ok I will wait
- nfk ha entrado
