BACKGROUND ; kang hyelin was born in daegu as the second child to a florist and a teacher. from the time she was born, she was extremely close with her older brother, hyunwoo, because he had a habit of babying her, and wanted to protect his baby sister from the horrors of the world. however, hyelin had always been a awkward child, even when she was a baby, often falling over twice as much as most toddlers would. her awkwardness continued into hr early childhood years, and despite what her family hoped, the awkwardness never entirely grew out. she had a perfectly normal childhood, until about the age of ten, when her powers began to show. being only ten years old, she was terrified, but was even more scared to tell her parents what was happening, which led to her isolating herself from them so they wouldn't find out. she thought that if she ignored it, it would eventually go away. however, that didn't happen, and she even had a breakdown at school once because it was too much, and she was scared something bad would happen and that she'd be taken away and experimented on. when she was fourteen, her brother sat her down and demanded she tell him what was going on, because he was worried for her. he was extremely understanding when he found out, and even tried to help her learn to control them (even though it didn't work very well at first, because she wasn't sure how she could just turn it all off). she joined the company at seventeen, after she was scouted on the way home from school. she originally didn't want to join, arguing that she couldn't dance at all, but agreed after her brother persuaded her to do so, reasoning that it would be a good experience to get her mind off her powers, since she was now able to control them (and by 'control them' he meant not break down from being completely overwhelmed by them). she agreed to join the company, and later went on to debut with the other girls, even though she was a horrible dancer.

ϟ WHAT IS LOVE

PERSONALITY ; if there is one word that describes hyelin, it is awkward. she is literally the walking definition of awkward. however, even she knows it, and has long since stopped being bothered by her lack of coordination, and her ability to always kill the mood. she is also extremely clumsy, and is often tripping over her own feet, and usually has bruised knees and elbows because of it. she is definitely the worst dancer in the group, because she is extremely clumsy, so she is often put at the back. however, this doesn't stop her from trying her best, as she is an extremely dedicated worker. she takes pride in the fact that she can always manage to humiliate herself, whether it be because she said something really weird, or she fell over in front a thousand fans. she is also known to ask a lot of weird and random questions, and really likes to talk, even though she usually embarrasses herself by letting things slip. she is however a good listener, and will always listen to your problems, and despite her eccentric personality, she is actually really good at coming up with solutions to problems. fans find her awkward nature relatable, and she often jokes that is is because she hasn't quite grown into her body yet, because she has really long limbs, which is what she blames for her lack of coordination.

HOW YOU MEET ; they met backstage at one of their showcases, and hyelin was chatting excitedly to one of her members as they walked to the dressing room. however, she was so absorbed in what she was chatting about that she didn't notice the door opening in front of her, and walked straight into it, and fell over. she kind of sat there for a minute, blinking, trying to figure out what had happened. when she looked up, she saw him standing there, looking both sorry and amused (but he was honestly on the brink of laughing hysterically at her)

HIS FIRST IMPRESSION ; well, he was too busy trying not to burst out laughing to really have a good look at her, since she was just sitting on the floor looking stunned. he did find her rather cute and funny at the same time. his first thoughts were probably something along the lines of "whoops i just hit her with a door. i probably shouldn't start laughing right now."

HER FIRST IMPRESSION ; she didn't realise who he was at first, because she was trying to comprehend the fact that she'd just walked into a door that was closed two seconds ago. when she looked up, she was kind of glaring at him, because it was his fault, and because he looked like he was about to laugh. it took her a few seconds before she realised who he was, but then she went back to glaring at him. her first thought was "he just hit me with a door. but he's famous. but he still hit me with a door."

HOW DOES HE ACT AROUND YOU ; he doesn't really change much from his happy and cheeky personality, and often teases her a lot. at the beginning he has a habit of bringing up how they first met, because it always makes her glare at him, and he finds her reaction both cute and hilarious. he doesn't act much different around her towards the end, but he does stop teasing her as much because he maybe sort of likes her, and has a bit of a soft spot for her.

HOW DOES SHE ACT AROUND HIM ; she was her normal extremely awkward self at first, who could barely talk too sentences to him in one go without saying something embarrassing (but she likes to say that it was because he hit her with a door). however, she does start to open up to him a bit more, and her awkwardness dies down (only slightly, because she is just naturally awkward). however, she is also completely oblivious to any feelings that either of them might or might not have.

RELATIONSHIP ; they get along quite well, because even though hyelin can be extremely awkward, he can always make her laugh and feel more comfortable around him. they're both really close friends, despite teasing each other a lot.
