  1. Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness
  2. Marriage Testing
  3. [Updated 11 Jun 2023]
  4.
  5. Info from UnoT
  6.
  7. BACHELORETTES
  8. - Chelsea
  9. - Julia: Arrives when Mirabelle sets up shop
  10. - Sabrina:
  11. > Have Gannon build the bridge to access the mine
  12. > Ship 20 or more items from the mine
  13. - Natalie
  14. - Witch
  15. - Lanna
  16.
  17. MARRIAGE REQUIREMENTS
  18. - Upgrade the house twice
  19. - Buy the big bed
  20. - Have the church, Nathan, and Alisa on the island
  21. - Unlock the main 23 "portraited" characters: Taro, Elliot, Felicia, Natalie, Gannon, Eliza, Mirabelle, Vaughn, Julia, Chen, Charlie, Denny, Witch, Harvest Goddess, Nathan, Alisa, Regis, Sabrina, Pierre, Lanna, Shea, Wada, and Mark (if playing as a girl) or Chelsea (if playing as a boy)
  22. - View the purple, blue, and yellow heart events
  23. - Blue Feather becomes available for 1000G from Chen's shop when any girl reaches 50000AP (orange heart)
  24. - Test if you can skip unlocking the following villagers: Denny, Alisa, Regis, Sabrina, Pierre, Lanna, Shea, Wada, Chelsea/Mark
  25. > Chelsea is NOT required
  26. - Managed to marry with all main villagers except Chelsea, with 26 sub-villagers, plus Trent. Is it possible that Mineral Towners can count toward the total?
  27. - In this case, it may be a matter of at least 23 villagers. The MTers appear to arrive when the hotel is upgraded and all 7 sprites are unlocked, arriving early in a given season (maybe first few days).
  28. - Costliest villagers to unlock are probably Denny, Lanna, Pierre, and Chelsea
  29. - Upon testing, MTers do not seem to work. Chelsea is definitely not required, but Pierre seems to be.
  30. - Further testing seems to show that all villagers are required except Chelsea. The only reason the sub-villagers are required is probably just to upgrade the cafe in order to unlock Pierre.
  31.
  32. CHARACTER UNLOCK REQUIREMENTS
  33. - Gannon: Auto (Spring 11)
  34. - Eliza: Upgrade the house
  35. - Mirabelle: Auto (Spring 12)
  36. - Vaughn: Auto (Spring 16; possibly after talking to Julia)
  37. - Julia: Auto (Spring 12)
  38. - Chen+Charlie: Auto (Start)
  39. - Denny: Catch at least 50 things fishing and unlock E. Town
  40. - Witch: Have Gannon build the bridge from W. Town to the forest
  41. - Goddess: Have Gannon build the bridge to the forest and throw something in her pond
  42. - Nathan: Have Gannon build the bridge to the forest and give two(?) offerings to the Goddess. Alternatively, could require just one "liked" offering, or two sleeps after the first offerings.
  43. - Alisa: Unlock the Forest by asking Gannon to build the bridge from W.Town to the Forest. Once that is completed, toss a favorable gift into the Goddess' pond for a few days.
  44. - Regis: Have Gannon build the bridge to the Forest, and then ship 20 or more items found from the mine on the Mountain.
  45. - Sabrina: Ship 20 or more items from the mine
  46. - Pierre: Upgrade your house to medium size, have 20 to 25 sub-villagers, then give food items to the upgraded Diner and/or Cafe. Once you have learned 5 cooking recipes he should move in.
  47. > Cafe and Diner will only upgrade once you have fridge+kitchen and 20 and 25 sub-villagers, respectively. Only one recipe per day from each.
  48. > Does not appear to require 5 recipes (got him with 3). The Diner also was not upgraded.
  49. > Does require 5 recipes, but you start with 2, so you only need an additional 3.
  50. - Lanna: Unlock E.Town (around Spring 11) and catch 70 or more items while fishing (fish, Empty Cans, etc.)
  51. - Shea: Hire Gannon to build the bridge from E.Town to the Jungle
  52. - Wada: Hire Gannon to build the bridge that leads to the Jungle. You will meet Shea and Wada the first time you visit the area.
  53. - Chelsea: Have all of the bridges built, unlock all of the Main villagers (with the exception of the Mineral Town visitors), and have the Island Hotel in E.Town expanded by unlocking 30 or more sub villagers.
  54.

  106.
  107.
  108. MISCELLANEOUS
  109. - Stamina starts at 100
  110. - Basic tools cost 4 Stamina per use, except when used "mistakenly" (i.e., to no effect), which costs 3
  111. - Seeds cost 4 to use, but 2 when used "mistakenly"
  112. - Watering can costs 3 to refill
  113. - Villagers appear to all lose 200AP if you drop ANYTHING on the ground outside your farm
  114. - +300AP with the Witch for throwing away (littering?) 10 items
  115. - Sabrina and Regis lose 500AP each for littering in their house--perhaps this is universal
  116. - Taro gives the fishing rod when you exit the house in the morning after he reaches 2000AP
  117. - Lost 100AP with Taro, Natalie, Felicia, (Elliot?), Witch, and Regis when upgrading to the large house
  118. - "A Growing Island" cutscene appears to trigger at 20 sub-villagers
  119. - Not entirely clear what is required to upgrade the cafe. It seems to be some combination of 20+ villagers (possibly need Thelma and Rita to have moved in), having a kitchen, and possibly having entered the cafe at least once.
  120. - Forageable stamina gains:
  121. > Purple Grass: +13
  122. > Blue Grass: +18
  123. > Indigo Grass: +17
  124.
  125. TO TEST
  126. - Try skipping the third bridge. Sub-villager sequence would be:
  127. > Noe, Ben
  128. > Build bridge 1: Kalen, Brook, Sean, Robin
  129. > Build bridge 2: Neil, Earl, Rock, Moira
  130. > Reach 10: Lance, Madelynn, Nicole, Luke
  131. > Unlock Church: Marisa
  132. > Reach 15: Daria, Taka, Vanessa
  133. > Mine subfloor 25: Brent, Gail
  134.
  135. MONEY IDEAS
  136. - Fishing for Pirate Treasure in the ocean (30000G each according to UnoT; summer only)
  137. - Fishing for Fish Fossils in the ocean (12000G according to UnoT; fall only)
  138. - If weather manip is possible, could try an Android-esque strat:
  139. > On Spring 2, sell sickle and watering can to Chen (+1200G)
  140. > Buy 14 Turnip seeds
  141. > On the Spring 3 crop tutorial, till and plant 17 3x3 plots
  142. > Sleep through however many rainy days
  143. > Initial harvest would sell for ~45900G
  144. > Repeat as needed to acquire all the necessary money
  145.
  146. FESTIVAL NOTES
  147. - Spring Thanksgiving (Spring 14): Give chocolate to the girl (test if there is a threshold)
  148. - Winter Thanksgiving (Winter 14): Girl with at least a purple heart will give chocolate/chocolate cookies on your farm
  149. - Starry Night (Winter 24, invite on Winter 23): For affection
  150. - New Years (Winter 30): Could get Buckwheat Flour for a recipe
  151.
  152. JULIA
  153. - "Kind-Hearted Julia" event triggers past the west bridge. +3000AP for the right response (check AP threshold to trigger).
  154. - "Suspicious Behavior" triggers inside her house. +3000AP for first response both times.
  155. - "Gift for Mother" triggers in Chen's shop. +3000AP for the second response.
