  1. The New Year's post I made, and the response to it, was sort of a cap on a long list of things that have had an interesting effect on my standing in the community. I'd like to make this post an opportunity to discuss the reactions to me and what I've done in general, and sort of clarify any residual tensions. Consider this a sort of effort to clear the air.

  5. The big thing that's probably floating around is how I'm banned from Snoonet, and I'm sure there are a lot of theories as to why, the primary one involving iamawesom. To begin with, let me make it quite clear that the primary reason that I was banned was for doxxing - we were quite worried about iamawesom, and I went through chatlogs to find him mentioning anything about himself or where he lived. Unfortunately, posting that on the main chat constituted doxxing, which is effectively the worst rule you can break on Snoonet.
  6.
  7. Secondly, there was the banter that Snoonet interpreted pretty adversely, and I won't really go into this, because I'd prefer not to begin openly discussing the private business of another player. That being said, iamawesom had left the channel and deleted his first account. People were concerned, and there was seemingly no real way for anyone to do anything about it. He is still playing with us because of efforts I made via Steam chat. He returned in [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldpowers/comments/5kbxi4/modpost_uiamawesomtoo_is_uiamawesom2_in_case_you/) post, which was reported by someone who said something like "he only left because you faggots bullied him off of the IRC". Again, I don't really want to go into this more in depth for privacy reasons, and I'm sorry if anyone felt like that, but it was not the foremost issue in the overall iamawesom situation. Such that it was not the primary reason for my ban.

  9. To bring this into a larger context, I understand that there are a lot of people rather upset with my general conduct on the IRC - such that SL is continuously bombarded with both Reddit and IRC PMs about me and how he's doing nothing about me. If you have some sort of problem with me, I'd be glad to address it, but going through back channels is not a good way to deal with it. As I'm sure plenty of people know, if there's a problem, I'm always willing to discuss it.

  13. Next, I want to talk about the New Year's post. The reason so many people believed it was true was because I removed comments expressing doubt, and apparently there were no mods on the IRC to deny it. I thought I left enough clues it was fake with the following two statements:
  14.
  15. >We hope to see the people of WP grow, develop, and help to become some of the pre-eminent people in their local communities - that's the sort of thing we've always tried to foster.
  16.
  17. A rather inane statement.
  18.
  19. >Good luck to everyone, we've had a truly wonderful time, and we love you all deeply.
  20.
  21. The love you deeply bit I would have thought would have been a bit offputting.
  22.
  23. Realistically, I didn't expect it to get that far, ESPECIALLY after I made the whittling post. However, there were still people who thought that [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldpowers/comments/5lepgk/metaseason_5_prediction_thread/) was serious, and even some players who thought it was a genuine prank were were [planning](https://www.reddit.com/r/rangeraragorn/comments/5le8nd/i_am_calling_it_right_here_irk_is_memeing_us_and/). I don't know why it got as far as it did, but I'm sorry about that.

  26.
  27. I've done a lot for this community, and I don't really feel weird about saying that. The new Season 4 rules were something that I largely designed. Gonzno gave me help with the U.S. breakup storyline, and Ghostsnow did a fantastic job with military split-up, something we both despised doing, but was well-worth it. Other mods were instrumental in feedback. This sounds really braggy, which I don't mean it to, but I don't know how else to bring it up. Every other mod had school and work, so I had the time to look at [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldpowers/comments/53jrxv/modpost_looking_towards_season_4_your_thoughts/) post, write up all the new mechanics, and submit them for voting.
  28.
  29. There were a few other proposals for things that got shot down, like someone suggested a [PRODUCTION] flair, and there was another suggestion for the breakup of the United States, where one claimant had it, and then people could claim bits, and slowly break apart with mod events and crises. I'm glad we settled on what we did, that option would have been a nightmarish mod burden.
  30.
  31. I'm bringing this up because I have always cared about the community - the amount of work that I put into Season 4 was monstrous, every new rule, every removal of old rules, balancing of post-american states, it wasn't easy, but I enjoyed it, because I had that post to see exactly what people wanted. Season 4 has been received really positively so far, and that's great. Having free time has allowed me to remain the most active mod, and the time I've dumped into administration and general maintenance is all because I want the game to run as smoothly as possible for the players.
  32.
  33. That being said, I know there are people who dislike me as a mod and as a player very very very much. There are loads of [reports](http://imgur.com/a/7Sh5G) to corroborate this kind of thing, and again, I don't really know how to approach these. I want to talk to the people that have an issue with my playstyle, with my modding style, and with me in general. I feel I've done a huge amount for the community, but it seems that there is an overwhelming preference for me to not exist at all.
  34.
  35. I'm making this post because I want to set things straight, and I want people to address me directly when they have an issue. Spamming SL89 or reporting things passively aggressively isn't going to get us anywhere. I'm sorry if I've ever offended you, but if you want to make it any better, I want to talk to you directly. That will always be the best way to fix things.
