  1. -On Earth
  2.
  3. >It's been a long 3 months of work, rest and more work.
  4. >You're fucking tired from fixing the A-10 you found in a old aircraft hanger
  5. >The damn thing was torn apart and rusty as hell but you want to see it fly
  6. >You've heard stories about these things and there massive forward mounted cannons tearing targets apart from low strafing runs
  7. >You sit down in your chair surrounded in aircraft parts
  8. "What happened to this thing?"
  9. >You look over the collection of computer components that more or less make up the brain of the aircraft
  10. >It looks like it has taken years of abuse and mistreatment
  11. >Yet the fucker still works
  12. >Goddamn those vets knew what they were talking about when they said these things could take a hit
  13. >You put your tools down and head to bed for the night, Maybe tomorrow you can re install these electronic bits and get back to working on the engines
  14.
  15. -On Earth next day
  16.
  17. >You wake up with your heart racing and mind on the edge of snapping
  18. >What the fuck was that
  19. >You saw things that should be impossible
  20. >You climb out of bed and try to get your mind right through the massive headache
  21. >Pouring your cereal results in a table covered in corn puffs
  22. >You take a deep breath and try to calm down
  23. >A shower, that's what you need
  24. >The hot water quickly slows your heart back to a normal pace as the steam surrounds you
  25. "Ok... Deep breaths."
  26. >You get out of the shower feeling much better and proceed to get ready for work
  27. >Arriving on the job site you notice the lack of workers and other mechanics
  28. >Confused you check your watch
  29. >3:48AM
  30. >You facepalm
  31. >Of course no one is here, the shift starts at 5AM
  32. >Sighing you get out of your truck and walk into the hanger
  33. >There she is. The fruit of your labor.
  34. >The A-10 stands proud in the hanger with gleaming parts and fresh paint
  35. >Your mind drifts back to the day you opened this hanger and found the battered remains of this powerful machine
  36. >It's been a hell of a ride and she's almost ready to fly
  37. >You get to work re installing the electrical systems that keep the monster in the air when you see a flash out of the corner of your eye
  38. >You whip your head around to greet the person who walked in
  39. "Bout' time yo-"
  40. >No one is there
  41. "Is anyone th-"
  42. >A loud explosion rips through the hanger filling it with light
  43. >You grab on to the lip of the cockpit as the intense wind trys to pull you in
  44. >Your hand gives in time to see the entire aircraft fly after you...
  45.
  46.
  47.
  48.
  49. -Unknown Location
  50.
  51. >You burst through the other side of you now make out to be a portal and start tumbling across the grass
  52. >you come to a skidding halt and hear a scream before turning back to the blinding portal
  53. >Seconds behind you the massive A-10 comes flying through
  54. >You hear the crash of metal and glass getting closer as the aircraft tumbles towards you
  55. >It stops not four feet from you
  56. >You sigh and pass out
  57. ...
  58. >You wake up in a undersized hospital bed surrounded in what looks like colorful horses
  59. >Must be the drugs you think to yourself as you drift in and out of consciousness
  60. >You mind drifts back to the hanger and what happened
  61. >Thoughts of the A-10 you poured weeks into being smashed to pieces brings a tear to your eye
  62. >The pain killers make you pass back out
  63. ...
  64. >You shoot upright in your bed gasping for air and looking around
  65. "Where the fuc-"
  66. >You here a "Eeep!" beside you and turn to look
  67. >There's a Blue and white horse thing with a horn on it's head cowering in the corner
  68. >"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to-"
  69. "GAAHH! You can talk!?
  70. >"Y-yes we all can."
  71. "I-I got to get the fuck out of here."
  72. >You stand up on wobbly legs and make for the door only to be confronted by a white horse with a nurse hat
  73. "Sir please sit bac-MUPHH"
  74. >You shove her away by the face and try to find an exit
  75. >You feel a prick of pain on the back of your neck and grab at it
  76. >Your holding a empty syringe
  77. >why would....it... be........
  78. >Your vision goes dark and you fall over
  79. ...
  80. >You wake up again in a small bed
  81. >You try to get up but quickly find that your hands are bound
  82. >"Glad to see you're awake"
  83. >You turn to your left and see the white mare from earlier
  84. "What are you?"
  85. >"Me? I'm Nurse Redheart, I work here."
  86. "I mean WHAT are you?"
  87. >She looks at you confused then realizes what you mean
  88. >"Oh! I'm an earth pony!
  89. >She says with smile and a wag of her tail
  90. "Talking horses. Great. I think I finally snapped."
  91. >"No, You're sane according to the tests we ran on you."
  92. "You ran tests on me?"
  93. >"Nothing invasive, checked for head trauma and internal bleeding, that sort of thing."
  94. "And how does that tell you I'm sane?"
  95. >"Magic."
  96. "Magic?"
  97. >Magic."
  98. >You sigh, this is going to be more complex then you thought
  99. >Thinking back you do recall seeing a blue mare with a horn on her head
  100. "Who was that mare in my room when I first woke up?"
  101. >"Oh her? That was Colgate, one of our helpers and the one that reported you."
  102. >That explains the scream...
  103. >At least you didn't get hit by the pl-
  104. "MY PLANE!"
  105. >"Wha-"
  106. >You turn to her
  107. "PLANE! That thing I came through with! Do you know what happened to it!?"
  108. >"Ummm that other mare? she was surrounded by guards last time I saw her."
  109. "We have to get there an-. Wait what? Mare? A plane is a machine. Not a horse."
  110. >"You need to re-"
  111. >The door opens as a male unicorn walks in with his pegisi assistant
  112. >"Let's see here, unknown species, unknown origin with minor head wounds and moderate bruising."
  113. >He looks up from his clipboard
  114. >"And he's awake! Wonderful! Redheart, how's his communication skills?"
  115. >"Fine Doctor Trauma, He speaks the same language as us miraculously."
  116. >"Outstanding!"
  117. >He turns to you
  118. >"How are you?"
  119. >You look at your current situation
  120. "Tied up and sore."
  121. >"Very good!"
  122. "No, not good. I want to see my plane!"
  123. >"I assume you're talking about the one that was with you? Quite the interesting subject she is, Skin made of some kind of metallic substance."
  124. "Yes! Her...it...Whatever I want to see her."
  125. >"That's all fine and dandy but I need something from you first. Last time you were loose you damn near gave Redheart here a concussion. I need you to promise us you won't go doing that again."
  126. >You look at Nurse Redheart and notice the bandage wrapped around her head
  127. "Sorry about that, You've got yourself a deal Doc."
  128. >"Splendid! Right this way then."
  129. >Your restraints are surrounded by a blue glow and loosen
  130. >You look at Nurse Redheart confused
  131. >"Magic."
  132. >You shrug and get up
  133.
  134.
  135.
  136. >You follow the Doctor down the hallway to your plane's room
  137. >Because an aircraft needs a hospital room
  138. >Doc Trauma turns to you
  139. >"She's right this way Mr...?"
  140. "Anon."
  141. >"Alright, Right this way."
  142. >He shows you into a room with a bed surrounded in curtains
  143. >"Blitz dear, How are you holding up?"
  144. >"UNTIE ME AND LET ME GO DAMMIT!"
  145. >"You have a visitor!"
  146. >You hear struggling from behind the curtains
  147. "Why Blitz?"
  148. >"She called it her "Callsign" or something like that."
  149. "Huh..."
  150. >You pull back the curtains and see what looks like a metal pony with miniature A-10 parts bolted on and a very angry expression
  151. >As soon as she sees you she freezes
  152. >"You... I-I know you..."
  153. >You're at a loss for words
  154. >A half pony half aircraft is trying to talk to you
  155. >And it knows who you are
  156. "Uhhh...."
  157. >"Y-you fixed me when the air force left me to rot in that hole."
  158. >"You saved me."
  159. >You take a seat next to her and sigh
  160. "When I saw that A-10 in shambles I almost cried, To see something that served us so reliably in that condition. I put months of working fixing it... You up so I could see you fly like the old war Vets said."
  161. "They didn't make it easy though. I had to basically beg the higher ups to get the funding and equipment I needed to fix you. In the end they saw the upside of me being out of their hair for a few months so I got the go ahead."
  162. >You reach for her restraints and untie her
  163. >Once she's untied she starts testing her new limbs to see how they move
  164. >Noting how the other ponies are standing in the room she tried to get to her hooves...
  165. >And fails
  166. >Redheart helps her get to her hooves
  167. >"So uhh..... Where to?"
  168. >You turn and look at the Doctor
  169. >"What? OH! Yes, as I was about to say before you pulled the curtain open. You're not the first to come through one of those portals and neither is she!
  170. "Wait, there are other humans here?"
  171. >"Well... that's less true... You see you're the first one that didn't get flattened by the debris flying through after you."
  172. "So there are others like her?"
  173. >"Yeah. We've been getting them once and a while for the better part of 7 months now. Enough of them came through that they got together and talked to the princesses about getting a place to live."
  174. "Let me guess, they called it an Airport?"
  175. >"Nope, from what I heard it's call the Airbase. It's close by if you want to go see it.
  176. "I think I should focus on getting home first. I don't really think I should be here."
  177. >"We've been trying to get a portal to reopen for the last few months with no success. Besides that, none of the others like her want to go back to be machines. They're happier here."
  178. "Well I still have to try..."
  179. >"And a lot of them are having medical problems I cannot diagnose due to their mechanical nature."
  180. "But I...."
  181. >Everyone in the room is looking at you now
  182. >You're the only one who knows anything about aircraft that could help them
  183. >If you leave they would slowly rust away
  184. >The image of Blitz in her hanger comes to mind
  185. "I'll stay. Because if I don't no one else can help them."
  186. >You see Blitz smile out of the corner of your eye as the Doctor leads you to the front doors and into a carriage
  187. >"Thanks Anon..."
  188.
  189. >It takes about an hour to reach the "Airbase" as they call it
  190. >You hop out of the carriage and look around
  191. >It looks like an airport fucked that big city on the mountain and got its building style
