  9. Credits for the newest (and fastest) application of this glitch goes to Myramong.

  12.
  13. 1. The new setup starts after you flute to 6 (before entering Mire).
  14. 2. When you flute to 6, pick up the rock from the bottom instead of left. (The down movement itself doesn't matter, but being more rightwards also scrolls the screen more rightwards, making the duck stay longer on the screen, which gives him a higher altitude when he exits the screen.)
  15. 3. In the first basement screen, you need to start to dash (kick up dust) before placing the Somaria block on the switch. (Tap A just before you press Y.)
  16. 4. Cane Dash room, Bombable Wall & Last Crystal Switch room can now be done with fire rod only.
  17. 5. See gif and clips below for how to do the last 3 rooms.

  26. btw, if you grab the rock like normal (from the left side) and move directly onto the warp (more or less center), you should be fine for the glitch

  29. why the other setup then
  30.
  31. jake57689 - Today at 3:40 AM
  32. Because it is a consistent way of making sure you don't mess up the movement
  33. by grabbing from below, by the time you are done lifting the stone, the value is set
  34. if you try to grab from the left side and fumble, you could get a bad value.
  35. also, if you walk slightly passed the warp after lifting the stone (from the left), you can get a bad value that way
  36. I guess the thought process behind the setup, was that it is the most consistent way to get a good altitude value set consistently. (and that seems to still hold)

  40. new setup is only kicking up dust before dropping block on floor switch (first room in mire basement)
  41. No dusted needed before or after that
  42. just good old fashioned fire rod shots

  46. btw, there's quite a big difference between picking up rock on the leftmost or the rightmost side. Here's pictures of the lowest pixel you can be at to get the Bombable Wall strat for both: https://puu.sh/AmKmG/58d495cd63.png (leftmost pickup) vs https://puu.sh/AmKqG/40544b573b.png (rightmost pickup)
  47.
  48. Picking up rightmost is bad, it makes the spike fire rod framerule based. But I think you should aim for the exact middle. A lot of coords around there that works the same or very similar.
  49.
  50. Maybe holding v> out of the 6 flute, and menu to medallion as you align with the center of the rock, might be good. At least try to make sure you do it the same in all your runs.
  51.
  52.
  53. Magic is tight. You could set up both slot 3 and 4 by doing the old setup as well. And if you happen to use an extra rod shot for torches or something, you could revert to old strat. Or just keep a bomb with you in case.

  95. Ice Entrance
  96. ------------
  97.
  98. After you flute to Link's House, dash up and jump off the ledge, repress Y to flute one more time, before transitioning to the next screen.
  99.
  100. Then the Ice Entrance freezor can be killed with the Fire Rod AoE damage, making it so that you can just hold <^ and hit the wall. You still want to move ~a tile up before pressing Y, so that you activate the freezor.

  107. Kholdstare
  108. ----------
  109.
  110. If you do the same setup with the flute as mentioned above, phase 2 Kholdstare will be easier with fire rod (if you have the extra magic), since the AoE effect will work as intended, hitting more puffs with each shot as long as they are clumped together.
