Lil' Buffalo

>“Mom!” Luna felt a small hand pushing her shoulder. She didn’t want to wake up, but her little nanny wasn’t having none of it. “Mom, wake up!”
>“Free bird, give me a minute. Momma had a late night jam session, and she needs to get her groove back.”
>“You mean get over your hangover.” Nothing like waking up to a guilt trip.
>“You got me.” Luna whipped the drool from her face. Sitting up on the couch she had crashed on. “But just so you know, your Aunt Sam brought the Jägermeister.”
>“Lemy needs a haircut.” Lyra held up her 3-year-old brother kicking his legs in the hair as she held him up by his arms. His hair a mess of brown curls wrapped around his head.
>“Aw yeah, my baby boy’s got a mane on him.” She loved it, but Lyra didn’t seem to share the feeling
>“Mom! He can’t see anything.” She did notice how he was reaching for anything he could hear.
>“Take it easy, angel. I got this.” Luna picked her little man up setting him on her Lap, Lyra sat next to them watching, always watching.
>“Hey little man, how’s the view?” Pushing back his hair to see his pure little blue eyes.
> “Momma!” Luna smiled at his happy little face glowing at the sight of her reaching out for her to pick him up.
>“Hey, chunk!” Her Loyal roadie popped out from the front seat of the Tour Bus.
> “Need some Advil Love?” He knew her too well. But it takes him a second to notice the hairball crawling on her chest.  “Cheese and crackers! That boi has more hair on his head then I do on me back.”
>“Eww,” Lyra shivered.
>“Aw, I’m just having a bit of fun lass.” He said patting her head as she mumbled again.
>“Hey Chunk, where’s that thing I got from that shop back in New Mexico?”
>“The one the creepy old lady sold yeah? Should be in the back.” Before he turned to get it, she grabbed his arm.
>“And something to kill this drill in the back of my head.” He gave her a reassuring nod only to leave alone with her daughter judgmental little eyes. “What?”

>“Are You going to cut his hair?” She said a slight tinge of concern in her voice.
>“And ruin the making of his rockin’ dew?” She rustled his hair making him giggle a little. “I’d sooner smash my own ax.”
>“You did. Two nights ago.” Aw yeah, that New Mexico gig was something else.
>“That was just the heat of the moment. But c’mon love, tell me he doesn’t look cute with his hair all fluffy like this.” Luna played with Lemy’s hair watching him giggle again.
>“It looks like a mullet,” Lyra mumbled.
>“This isn’t a mullet, it’s more like Buffalo hair. Throw up the horns baby!” Lemy raised his hands as high as his little body would let him stick his fingers out.
> “Yeah, that’s my rockin’ Lil’ buffalo soldier.” She laughed getting Lyra to roll her eyes but catching the inkling of a smile.
> “Found the bugger, and here’s something to drink.” He handed her glass and some pills to take care of the drumming in her head but more importantly her little gift.
> Chugging down the water, she set it aside and pulled out a small piece of red and blue cloth from a purple bag.
> “Hold still Lemy.” She said softly pushing the hair out of his eyes as he watched curiously tie the band around his head. His hair curling around the edges. “And boom saved us a trip to the Hair salon.”
> Presented her little boy to his sister. His eyes now slightly covered by a dim blue bandanna and red spikes patterned along the side, with a tanned cow skilled etched into the front of it.
> “Well what do you think Lyra.” Showing him to her little girl.
> “No offense mom, but it looks stupid.” Harsh as always but whatever. She thought it looked kickass.
> “Alrighty, so I guess you don’t wanna hold him?.” Luna teased. Noticing Lemy was reaching out for his sister.
