  4. scheme introduction
  5. `RBandits in the forests of Haven? It's more likely than you might think!`x
  6. For some time now, Wildling travelers visiting Earth or simply passing through the crossroads on their way to other worlds have been reporting darkly hooded figures among the trees. Recently a caravan traveling from the `cGodrealms`x to the `yWilds`x was even attacked, driven off the road by a hail of gunfire. Thankfully, while the merchants and their guards were wounded in the attack, the raiders left once they had what they came for, burning whatever they couldn't carry in the retreat.
  7. That small victory only seems to have encouraged them, however, and reports of highway robbery have begun to increase in frequency ever since.
  8. scheme description
  9. The raiders are of course working for Ymir's Host, and even a cursory conversation with their victims will reveal as much given that the group's symbol is proudly displayed on their shields. Strangely, despite the band of viking's tendency to raid anyone and anything that crosses their path, they've been rather discriminatory with their assaults: The majority of caravans struck have either been working directly for Whitewater Trading Company or otherwise closely involved with Ardan Raye's off world business.

  11. How exactly do they know which caravans to hit, and when? That's another matter entirely. While it's entirely possible that there's a mole within Whitewater Trading, the attacks are like clockwork. It's more likely that they've somehow acquired a copy of Rayes' ledger. While that ensures that, should nothing be done, their knowledge of the trade routes will eventually run out, it could also be their undoing in more ways than one.
  12. scheme method
  13. Everyone has their price, even viking raiders.
  14. Additionally, using the bandits' insider knowledge of Whitewater Trading's routes against them could work, as well as finding some way to uncover the mole.
