Kitty MewMew Chapter 3

Alphys and Susie walk up the steps to the door of Alphys' apartment
Alphys fumbles for her keys and unlocks the door with all the grace of a hippopotamus doing ballet, okay maybe that's a bit too insulting to the hippopotamus. She managed to drop the keys 3 times during the whole thing.

"Umm... You can dry yourself off in the bathroom, just leave your wet jacket in there as well."

Stepping over a pile of stray CD's, unwashed clothes and an assortment of other junk, Alphys hopped into her computer chair.
It was the place she felt most comfortable in this world other than her bed.

Absent minded she clicked through the dozen programs on her computer before remembering she wasn't alone and it was really late, so she did something she rarely did and shut down her PC.

Swivelling her chair around she looked at Susie.
She was sitting on the floor looking around the room curiously.

"Oh, are you interested in my posters and figurines?"

"Yeah, that and the mess. Every mess tells a story, you've just gotta piece it together."

"I never expected a girl like you to be interested in this "nerdy stuff" or say something weirdly poetic."

"Heh, I actually watched that show." Susie pointed to a poster for [clever monster themed anime pun]
Following the line of point Alphys saw the poster for her favourite anime.

"OH! MY! GOSH! That's my favourite anime!"
"What did you think of it? Please tell me you liked it!"

"I thought it was honestly the sweetest dang thing I've ever seen. I don't think I've smiled that hard my whole life."

"I know right? I always try to get people into it yet am always rejected cause they don't want to watch any of that "weird pervert shit" they're judging it without even watching it! but it's still weird... how come you've seen it?"

It's at the point Susie hesitated to answer the question.

"I actually watched it cause I heard it was your favourite anime..."

"Huh?" that was an unexpected reply, she would've never guessed she had anything to do with it in a million years.

"It might sound a bit silly but I was always kinda interested in talking to you, I thought watching some of the things you were into would help me get close but I was too socially inept to ever actually speak to you." Susie sounds a bit embarrassed to say this out loud.

"Eh I'm not sure why I even said that, guess the comfort of your home made me loosen up my mind and my mouth. Forget I said anything."

"..." Alphys just pauses at that, she'd just heard something outrageous and was unable to respond, in the end she missed the opportunity as Susie was feeling things get awkward and decided to end the conversation there.

"Well uhh, yeah, let's just go to sleep and I'll leave in the morning, or at least after it stops raining."

"Ha, yeah, we probably should." Alphys gives an awkward laugh and hops off her chair.

She slides under the covers of her Futon while Susie just sort of lies on the ground off to the side staring at the ceiling.

"Goodnight." Alphys quietly blurts out.

"Goodnight." Susie replies.

She figures that tomorrow will grant her another chance to say what she had been meaning too earlier, and slowly drifts off into the realm of dreams.
