  1. Failed to receive status information from Apache
  2. Sometimes when there is a small DDOS attack on my server, load server goes up (Around 30-40) and web server (Apache) gets down for exactly 30 minutes, and each time server gets back to service spontaneously. This happens several times in month, During down time i can't access to Apache status via WHM, I get following error:

  20. You should find a solution to mitigate the ddos attack by asking your provider to activate the ddos protection for your server. If it's out of your budget then you should check cloudflare services. Moreover, you can try tweaking your apache configuration to handle high traffic if it can.
  21. You can use ddos-deflate bash script from github , it will help you to migitate small ddos attacks like that

  26. Apache uses the same threads/procs, to process normal user requests, for mod_status (/server-status or /whm-server-status for cpanel). When all those threads are tied up with the DDoS there isn't one left to process your /server-status request. There used to be a module called mod_backdoor.c that would reserve a connection for /server-status but that's very old now I suppose.
  27.
  28. What we do during DDoS combat sessions to alleviate some of the burden is to identify worker threads that are in unusual states and kill those long-running ones. It frees up a few works and you can then go to /whm-server-status.
