  6.
  7. Barnaby had a bad day, he was excited about some new vault related clue. But instead of Anon Ymous asking him to join for the adventure, he was scorned and left behind. He was eating his regular sized Hogwarts sandwiches and imagining how much fun everyone else was having, while he all alone.
  8.
  9. "Hey, Barnaby." He heard a girl call out for him.
  10. "Oh, Hello." Barnaby said sourly, but couldn't take out his frustration at the girl, so instead he decided he'd smile instead.
  11. "Why are you sitting here alone?" The girl asked sitting down in front of the boy.
  12. "Everyone's on an adventure without me..." Barnaby said sadly.
  13. "O-oh, well, not me." The girl said.
  14. "Ah, they didn't ask you either?" Barnaby asked surprised.
  15. "No, no one has ever asked me to join on an adventure anyway." The girl admitted.
  16. "Oh, why is that?"
  17. "I think it has something to do with how everything ends disastrously when I am involved in something." The girl smiled bravely. "It's alright, I'm used to it though."
  18. "Well, that's not really fair either way." Barnaby said emphatically.
  19. "Anyway, I was going to ask you if you had seen Anon, but I guess he's out on an adventure then." The girl said and got up, immediately knocking down the chair she was sitting on.
  20. "Hey, Olivia." Barnaby said suddenly, having gotten an idea.
  21. "Hmm?" The girl said lifting the chair from the floor.
  22. "How about we go on an adventure instead?" Barnaby said excited.
  23. "Oh, I don't know if that is a good idea, you know my reputation..." The girl said smiling a bit sadly.
  24. "Well, everyone thinks I'm simple." Barnaby said. "But I'm strong, with your brains and my brawn. I'm sure we can solve a mystery or two in no time!"
  25. The girl laughed a bit awkwardly, she wasn't known for her intelligence either, in fact she was so utterly mediocre that no one ever glanced at her twice. But seeing how enthusiastic Barnaby got was contagious.
  26. "Well, do you have an idea for an adventure then, Barnaby?" The girl asked.
  27. "Sure do, I overheard Anon discuss some clue with Rowan, apparently there is a hidden cavern in the outskirts of Hogsmeade that might be tied to some treasure or something... I don't know."
  28. "Anon's looking for treasure in Hogsmeade?" The girl asked surprised.
  29. "I don't know, all I heard was they were talking about it. Do you want to go investigate?" Barnaby asked.
  30. "O-oh... Hum... Okay?" The girl said a bit unsure. "What about Anon then, wont he be upset that we tag along uninvited?"
  31. "How could we be uninvited if we never know about any invitations, it's not like we got an uninvitation from him." Barnaby said smiling knowingly.
  32. The girl's head spun at Barnaby's reasoning, but she decided to just roll with it.
  33. "Alright, let's go then!" The girl said pumping her fist excited and knocking the chair back on the floor. "Ow!"
  34.
  35. The unlikely duo left for the Hogsmeade village and immediately went for the three broomsticks. And sat down for butterbeers.
  36. "Ah, this hit the spot." Barnaby said drinking the warmed beverage.
  37. The girl was also carefully drinking butterbeer.
  38. "...So" The girl started.
  39. "Hmm?" Barnaby said chugging his drink.
  40. "Where is the cave?"
  41. Barnaby just finished his drink and carefully put down the tankard down.
  42. "OH RIGH!" He bellowed suddenly, startling the girl, who nearly spilled her drink.
  43. "I forgot, I don't know where the cave is." the boy laughed.
  44. The girl was a bit surprised they had left for an adventure without a clear destination.
  45. "Eh, how are we supposed to find the cave then?" The girl asked.
  46. "OH, I don't know, we could ask for clues. It wouldn't be much of an adventure if we just know where we were going, now would it?" Barnaby reasoned.
  47. "I guess not... Would be a lot easier though." The girl said putting down her glass as gently as possible.
  48. "Did Merula send you to go after Ymous?" a ravenclaw student asked, he had overheard the two conversing.
  49. "N-no, why would Merula send us?" The girl asked the Ravenclaw.
  50. "Not you, him." The ravenclaw pointed at Barnaby.
  51. "I am not Merula's lapdog anymore." Barnaby declared.
  52. "No, you're not." Another ravenclaw said joining the conversation. "You're Ymous'"
  53. "Shut up, Anon doesn't take advantage of his friends!" The girl shouted angrily and nearly knocked down the glass, but managed to get a hold of it, before it fell down.
  54. "Be that as it may." The ravenclaw said. "If you want to know where Anon Ymous went, he was spotted going north, into the mountains, despite numerous warnings."
  55. "Haha, that Anon, he has no sense of self-preservation." Barnaby laughed. "Hope he doesn't get himself killed."
  56. "Barnaby!" The girl said horrified.
  57. "Relax, Anon's a powerful duellist, I bet he can take out a few mountains." Barnaby assured the girl.
  58. "That is... Literally the dumbest thing I have ever heard..." One of the ravenclaws said.
  59. "Merlin's gray beard, I feel dumber being in his presence..." The other one said.
  60. After a few moments of silence, only broken by an unrelated fork falling on the ground, and the girl being startled that she had broken something again.
  61. "Just follow the main boulevard, when you reach the outskirts of the village walk towards the mountains, that's where Ymous went." One of the ravenclaws said and left with his friend.
  62. "See, we got our first clue, all's going well." Barnaby said cheerfully.
  63. "Uh... Yeah, right!" The girl said trying to sound excited. Well, she actually was a little excited, going on an adventure was starting to seem fun."
  64. "Let's go!" Barnaby said and got up."
  65. "Yeah!" The girl said and knocked the glass she drank from onto the floor.
  66. She looked at the shattered glass and at the crowd staring at her.
  67. "Sorry, Madam Rosmerta, I broke another one..." She said troubled.
  68. "I should get you an enchanted one, girl." the innkeeper said as she pointed her wand at the broken glass and fixed it with reparo.
  69. "I-i have been practicing reparo, I promise I will fix any glasses I break when I learn it." The girl said sadly.
  70. "It's fine, dearie, you can't help being a bit accident prone." Rosmerta said sympathetically
  71. The girl was a bit sad when the two of them left the Inn, she had moments ago been very excited. But she can't stop being ...Clumsy.
  72. "Cheer up, what is an adventure without a few setbacks?" Barnaby said.
  73. "Usually adventure setbacks are more involved to the adventure and not glassware..." The girl said sadly.
  74. "Oh, who's to say where the adventure begins and where it ends, I think we've been on the adventure the moment we met in the great hall, me taking the last bite of my sandwich was the beginning of this epic journey!" Barnaby said as the two were walking out of the village.
  75. The girl smiled a bit, she was starting to like this cheerful Barnaby. She had previously been wary of the boy, he seemed a bit mean when he walked around with Merula. Maybe it was Anon's good influence, or maybe the boy was determined to keep this adventure as fun as possible.
  76.
  77. The two adventurers were walking towards the mountains, looking out for any caves.
  78. "Ah, humm... The ravenclaw said north..." Barnaby said contemplatively.
  79. "Yes." The girl said.
  80. "Where is north?" Barnaby asked the girl.
  81. "O-oh! I know a spell that works here." The girl said cheerfully.
  82. "Oh?" Barnaby said watching the girl pull out her wand.
  83. The girl laid the wand on her palm, careful not to drop it.
  84. "Point me" she said.
  85. The wand spun a little and settled in a direction slightly to the right of the two.
  86. "Cool, what did it do?" Barnaby asked.
  87. "It shows where north is, my auntie taught me the spell when I kept getting lost."
  88. "Neat."
  89. The girl was happy that she knew an useful spell.
  90. "Alright, let's head out!" Barnaby said.
  91. "Yes!" The girl said and dropped her wand, she forgot it was in her palm.
  92. "Uh oh!" She went to look for it from the ground, but it was a bit difficult, due to everything being brown. "Oh, no..." The girl said sadly.
  93. Barnaby got down and helped the girl look for it.
  94. "I wish it was brightly coloured, would be easier to find it." The girl said troubled.
  95. After a few moments of looking, the girl found it right next to her foot. And the two moved on.
  96.
  97. The two adventurers were walking in the forest, stopping every now and then to carefully check their direction.
  98. "Wow, feels like we've walked for hours." The girl said to Barnaby.
  99. "Sure does. Let's see..." Barnaby looked at his watch. "we've been walking for 25 minutes."
  100. "O-oh, it felt much longer than that." The girl said surprised.
  101. "Time seems to fly when you're having fun." Barnaby said and shrugged.
  102. The girl was about to correct him about the passing of time, but she thought that she was actually having a lot of fun walking in the forest, looking for Anon.
  103. "Yeah!" The girl said cheerfully.
  104. "So, why were you looking for Anon earlier?" Barnaby asked and brushed off some branches and let th girl pass.
  105. "Oh, uh... I was going to thank him for helping me with charms classes..." The girl said going a bit red.
  106. "I finally managed to cast levitation charm, due to his tutoring. But í accidentally missed the feather and instead levitated the boy's robes. Professor Flitwick had to help me get him off the roof safely." The girl smiled. "He was a good sport about it, just laughing and cheering me on from the heights."
  107. "That's nice, Anon is a really nice guy, for a slytherin." Barnaby laughed.
  108. "Oh, but you're nice too."
  109. "I wasn't always, but following Anon made me realize that I don't have to live in this big shadow anymore..." Barnaby said sounding a bit troubled.
  110. "Oh..." The girl tried to think of something to say. "I think you're standing up on your own just fine."
  111. "I am glad to hear you say that." Barnaby said and cheered up. "I feel much better, I am sure Anon had a good reason not to invite us."
  112. "Well, I know a few good reasons why he didn't invite me." The girl said a bit sad.
  113. "You like him, don't you?" Barnaby asked suddenly.
  114. The girl went completely red.
  115. Barnaby just laughed.
  116. "Relax, I wont tell anyone." Barnaby smiled at the girl. "But between you and me, my money's on you. I mean, not literally... Uh..."
  117. "I know the figure of speech." the girl laughed.
  118. "Yes..." Barnaby said. "Figure of speech."
  119. "Anyway, I'm rooting for you." Barnaby said finally and climbed over a tree trunk.
  120. "Thanks, it's nice to have supporters, the competition is fierce..." The girl said a bit sadly.
  121. "Cheer up, I'm sure Anon notices you eventually." Barnaby said and looked at the girl following him.
  122. "I notice who, Barnaby?" Anon asked.
  123.
  124. The duo screamed out of terror, they saw Anon's decapitated head on the ground. Barnaby had almost stepped on him.
  125. "Oh no!" The girl kneeled in front of the boy and screamed in terror.
  126. "Olivia!" Anon shouted. "Calm down!"
  127. The girl hiccupped and tried to calm down.
  128. "What happened to you, Anon?" Barnaby asked.
  129. "I fell into a hole." Anon said embarrassed.
  130. "Where's Rowan?" The girl asked.
  131. "He's at the castle, he didn't come with me."
  132. "Why are you out here alone?" Barnaby asked.
  133. "I come here to practice duelling alone... I don't know, it's in my nordic blood to hang out in a forest."
  134. "Where did the hole come from?" Barnaby asked.
  135. "Uhh..." Anon started completely red. "I kinda... Practiced spells on the ground and dug it."
  136. "Huh... neat." Barnaby said.
  137. Anon just laughed and tried to turn towards the girl.
  138. "How's that for clumsy?" Anon asked smiling at the girl.
  139. The girl went completely red and hit Anon in the top of his head.
  140. "Ouch. What was that for?" Anon asked the girl
  141. "You could've been hurt badly, what if we hadn't run into you by a freak accident?" The girl asked Anon frustrated.
  142. "Well, freak accidents are every day matter for you, Olivia" Anon smiled at the girl. "I wasn't worried." He laughed.
  143. "This isn't funny, I know I am clumsy, so I am careful. What if we really hadn't found you?" The girl asked terrified.
  144. "Rowan knows where I went, besides the trail is over there, it was only a matter of time before someone walked past me." Anon said trying to calm the girl down.
  145. Barnaby just looked at the easy to walk trail and turned to his adventuring companion.
  146. "Was that always there?" He asked.
  147. "I don't know, would've been a lot easier to take the trail, than to go trough the entire forest." The girl said scraching her neck and laughing.
  148. "Well, I'm glad you're here either way. My nose has been itching very badly and my pants are full of dirt." Anon said. "Though, I don't remember telling either of you about my sweet training grounds."
  149. "Oh, never mind that." Barnaby said. "How do we get you out of your hole?"
  150. "Ah... Hum..." Anon said. "Oh! Now's your time to shine, Olivia."
  151. "It is?" The girl asked surprised.
  152. "Just cast levitation on my robes and pull me out."
  153. "O-oh, right!" The girl said determined and pulled her wand out. She was ready to impress Anon a second time this week.
  154. "Wingardium Leviosa!" The girl said swishing and flicking her wand.
  155. The small rock she just levitated flew above the trapped boy's head, when she realized her mistake and lost her concentration.
  156. "Ouch" The boy yelped as the rock fell on his head.
  157. The girl looked at the boy terrified. But the boy started laughing loudly with Barnaby.
  158. "S-s-sorry!" The girl stammered and turned beet red.
  159. "Oh, you are so clumsy, Olivia" Anon said and smiled brigthly at the girl.
  160. The girl felt her heart skip a beat and was speechless.
  161. "You're good at Wingardium Leviosa, Olivia." The boy said smiling at the girl. "You just have to work on your aim, try holding the incantation a bit longer when you flick your wand, so you have more time to aim. That's how I can cast flipendo accurately while dodging."
  162. "R-right..." The girl said unsure about herself.
  163. "Relax." The boy said reassuring and smiled at the girl.
  164. Barnaby patted the girl on her shoulder and nodded.
  165. "I'm going to go to the little boy's room, in the forest."
  166. "Watch out for holes, I dug more of them around."
  167. Barnaby just waved the the boy and walked away.
  168. Clumsy concentrated on her spell. "Wingardium Leviosa~!" The girl said dragging out the incantation a bit while she swished and flicked. This time she hit the boy's robes and the boy started slowly levitating out of the hole, spreading dirt around. When the boy was free, the girl let go of him, and he landed gracefully in front of the girl.
  169. "Thanks, Olivia... I don't know what I would have done without you."
  170. The girl got red and looked at the boy angrily before she hugged the surprised boy tightly.
  171. "You need to be more careful, it should be a good warning for you if someone as undependable as me has to save you from the hole you dug yourself into!" The girl said frustrated.
  172. "H-haha" Anon laughed forcedly and stroked the girl's hair. "If you say so..."
  173. The girl jumped back embarrassed, she got lost in the moment.
  174. Anon just smiled at her. "I think you're a dependable person though. You always try so hard. It's your best quality."
  175. Olivia went red again and was glad Barnaby lumbered back to the two, breaking the awkward moment she was in.
  176. "Ah, I shouldn't have drank so many butterbeers." Barnaby said.
  177. The girl looked at her friend and laughed. "You only drank one Butterbeer, Barnaby."
  178. "One too many, as it were." Barnaby laughed.
  179. "No, Barnaby, you haven't drank enough butterbeers, let's go back to Hogsmeade and I'll treat you both for rescuing me." Anon said smiling at the duo.
