  1. "Ok, now try and get the X by itself"
  2. >"Uuuuuuhhhh...."
  3. "You gotta take the derivative of both sides"
  4. >"...What?"
  5. >Reeee
  6. "Here, let me show you."
  7. >You pick up your pencil and scribble down your own version of the problem.
  8. >While doing so, you can feel Sonata's eyes on you, watching you intently.
  9. >It's been three weeks since you first started hanging out with Sonata.
  10. >Aside from classes, the two of you have practically spend most of your free time together.
  11. >People still seem to dislike her, most just making an effort to avoid her completely at this point.
  12. >Dirty looks are still quite common, but if it still bothers her, Sonata sure hasn't shown it.
  13. "Alright, look-"
  14. >You point the tip of your pencil at your handiwork.
  15. "That's X squared, yeah?"
  16. >Sonata squints at your example, almost as if you wrote it for ants.
  17. >"Yeah!"
  18. "Right. And a derivative for this would be bringing this-"
  19. >You tap your pencil on the 2.
  20. "Down in front of the X."
  21. >"...Ok. Why?"
  22. "To get the X on it's own, like this."
  23. >While scribbling down the rest of the equation, you feel a weight press down on your shoulder.
  24. >You look down to see Sonata laying her head on you, her bright blue ponytail brushing softly against your neck.
  25. "You ok, Sonata?"
  26. >"Mhmm!"
  27. "Then, uh, why you laying on me?"
  28. >"Because you're comfy and smell nice."
  29. >Sonata rubs her head against you, letting out a content sigh.
  30. "Sonata."
  31. >"Hmm?"
  32. "Sonata, you need to finish your assignment."
  33. >"mmmmmmmmmno."
  34. >You shake your shoulder in an attempt to get her to sit up
  35. >The blue girl lets out a small groan before sitting back up.
  36. >"I wanna be done, Nonny~"
  37. >She stares up at you with sad eyes.
  38. "Then finish you're work-"
  39. >You place the pencil in her hand.
  40. "-Sonny~"
  41. >A frustrated pout forms on her lips.
  42. "Hey, you're the one who asked me to help. This is me helping."
  43. >Yet another sigh before she turns to look at you.
  44. >"Can you do it for me? Pllleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaasssseee?"
  45. "You know I can't do that. You won't learn anything."
  46. >She bats her eyelashes and leans into you.
  47. >"Just this one? It's super hard. I promise I'll do the rest!"
  48. "..."
  49. >"..."
  50. "...Fine. But just this question."
  51. >Sonata squeaks in excitement and wraps her arms around you.
  52. "So. Like I said, first you take..."
  53. >...
  54. >"Hey Anon?"
  55. "Hmm?"
  56. >You hold the door open for Sonata and wave goodbye to the librarian.
  57. >The hallways are practically empty, as everyone has already gone home.
  58. >Even the classrooms are dark, all the teachers having left for home.
  59. >"I don't wanna go home yet."
  60. >Knowing the state of where she lives, you wouldn't want to either.
  61. "Alright, what do you wanna do?"
  62. >She looks down at her feet as she hums thoughtfully.
  63. >Damn she's cute.
  64. >"Idunno."
  65. >She presses up against your side.
  66. >"I just want to do something with you."
  67. "We could always study some more."
  68. >The blue girl emits an exasperated groan and nudges your shoulder.
  69. >"If I have to look at one more equation I swear I will, like, literally die."
  70. >You can't help but let out a laugh at her statement
  71. "Fair enough. Well let's see...could go see a movie."
  72. >"Oooooooh Yeah! I've never seen one since..."
  73. >Her enthusiasm fades as quickly as the smile on her face.
  74. >"-since Adagio never let me..."
  75. >Shit
  76. >You wrap your arm around Sonata's shoulder and pull her closer towards you, elicting a small squeak from the girl.
  77. "Hey, I'll let you pick out what we watch, and you can get some snacks too. Anything you want."
  78. >Sonata sniffs lightly and looks up to you with moistening eyes.
  79. >"A-anything?"
  80. "Anything."
  81. >You push through the exit and out into the school parking lot.
  82. "..."
  83. >"..."
  84. "You want Taco Bell."
  85. >"I want Taco Bell."
  86. "Fair Enough."
  87. >...
  88. >"I don't think it'll fit, Anon."
  89. "Nonsense, just got to get it past the widest part and we're good."
  90. >"There's so much, though!"
  91. "Only because you wanted it all. I don't understand how you can have so much and want more."
  92. >"I can't help it, I'm, like, always hungry for it."
  93. "I understand that, but two XXL burritos?"
  94. >Sonata just shrugs.
  95. >"I like their burritos."
  96. "And tacos. And Chalupas."
  97. >Her stomach emits a low rumble in response.
  98. >Sonata looks away sheepishly.
  99. >You finally manage to shift your jacket in a way that doesn't suggest you are looking to recreate Columbine
  100. "There. How do I look?"
  101. >"Fat."
  102. "H-hey!"
  103. >Sonata giggles before patting your jacket.
  104. >"I'm totally kidding, Anon."
  105. >She grabs your hand and tugs you in the direction of the theater.
  106. >"Now hurry up, Anon!"
  107. >You feel all the food shift around underneath your jacket.
  108. "Whoa careful! This will all fall out!"
  109. >...
  110. >You said you'd let her pick the movie.
  111. >You can't fault her
  112. >Still...
  113. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhgB5fHphxk [Embed]
  114. >Fuck, this movie is mind numbing.
  115. Doesn't help that Sonata wanted to be in the front row.
  116. >You've tuned it out for most of the time, absentmindedly chewing on your cheap mexican food.
  117. >Sonata seems to be enjoying, so there's that.
  118. >You turn to look at her.
  119. >She's absolutely glued to the screen, seemingly absorbing every detail
  120. >She brings a taco to her mouth, only to miss and hit her cheek before trying again and succeeding.
  121. >Must me the novelty of it.
  122. >Well, she did mention that her friends never let her see movies.
  123. >Her friends...
  124. >Sonata always gets really sad and distant whenever she's reminded of them.
  125. >Even though from what she's told you, that they didn't really treat her well.
  126. >After all they put her through, and she still misses them.
  127. >A pressure on your shoulder alerts you to the fact that Sonata is now leaning on your shoulder.
  128. >She wraps her arm around yours, settling further into you.
  129. >...
  130. >They were all she had in this world.
  131. >Pleasant or not, they were a consistent presence in her life.
  132. >Now that they were gone, she was left with no one.
  133. >No one but you.
  134. >Your train of thought comes to a worrying conclusion.
  135. >Is Sonata just using you to fill the void her friends left?
  136. >The thought never occurred to you, but now it's left you feeling...conflicted.
  137. >Sonata sits up and whispers into your ear.
  138. >"Anon, can you move this thingie here?"
  139. >You see her motioning towards the arm rest that separates the two of you.
  140. "Yea, you just do this."
  141. >You push it up, and immediately Sonata places her head on your chest, sighing happily.
  142. >"Did I tell you how comfy you are?"
  143. "Earlier today, yes."
  144. >"Ok, cuz you're totally comfy."
  145. >You wrap your arm behind her, pulling her closer to you, making her sigh again.
  146. "Good."
  147. >The feeling of Sonata pressed against you, the smell of her hair, the sound of her contentment...
  148. >It puts you at ease.
  149. >She wouldn't be the kind of person to use you like that.
  150. >And even if she was...
  151. >You're perfectly fine with that.
  152. >...
  153. >"Ohmigosh, Anon that movie was soooooooooo cute! Those babies and puppies were totes adorable!"
  154. "I'm glad you liked it."
  155. >You throw the discarded wrappers of your dinner away as the two of you exit the theater.
  156. >"What about you Anon? Didya like it? Huh?"
  157. >No.
  158. "I-uuuhhhhhh-it wasn't one I would have picked...but sure."
  159. >"For Realzies?"
  160. >No.
  161. "Yup!"
  162. >Sonata pumps her fist into the air.
  163. >"Yes! I made a good choice!"
  164. >You chuckle as you hold open the exit for her.
  165. >"Next time I wanna see the one with those little blue things, they look cute too!"
  166. >Fuck No.
  167. "Sure thing."
  168. >Fuck.
  169. >"What do you wanna do now, Anon?"
  170. "Still don't want to go home?"
  171. >"Nuh-uh."
  172. >She wraps herself around your arm.
  173. >"Anon stay."
  174. >Sonata looks up at you with her deep purple eyes and burys her face in your arm
  175. "God you're cute."
  176. >Sonata giggles in response.
  177. >"I try."
  178. >You fish your phone out from your pocket and glance at the screen.
  179. >9:35
  180. >You look around the area for any possible ideas.
  181. >The sidewalks are populated with the nighttime crowd of the city.
  182. >Across the street, you catch a group of students from your school, most likely on their way to some party.
  183. >An older couple walk together, admiring the decorations that adorn the windows of many of the stores.
  184. "Well, I guess the night is still pretty young. We can walk around downtown for a bit."
  185. >"Ok!"
  186. >...
  187. >"Ooooooh Anon, look at this dress!"
  188. "And look at that price."
  189. >Sonata presses her face to the glass, as if trying to phase through the window.
  190. >"But it's so pretty! Look at the frills and the lace!"
  191. "It's very beautiful."
  192. >Sonata turns to look up to you.
  193. >"Do you think I'd look good in it?"
  194. >You shrug.
  195. "Ehhh."
  196. >Sonata recoils, a hurt look painted on her face.
  197. "I'm kidding, you'd look beautiful in it."
  198. >The blue girl squints at you and turns away from you with a curt "Hmph!".
  199. "Hey I was kidding!"
  200. >She just replies with another "Humph!"
  201. "Alright, I'm sorry."
  202. >"...For realzies?"
  203. "Yes."
  204. >"You have to say I'd look pretty in that dress."
  205. "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhh"
  206. >Sonata stamps her feet and crosses her arms, fixing her gaze down towards the sidewalk.
  207. >"Hmph!"
  208. >Her tantrum makes you chuckle.
  209. "Alright, alright. You'd look like the most beautiful girl in that dress."
  210. >Sonata continues to stare at the concrete, her cheeks puffed in a small pout.
  211. >"..."
  212. "No one could ever come close to how good you look"
  213. >"..."
  214. "Keep going?"
  215. >Your question is immediately followed by small nod.
  216. >Well shit.
  217. >That's about all you had.
  218. >Ever the charmer, aren't you?
  219. >"Tell me how pretty I am."
  220. "How...how pretty you are?"
  221. >"Yes. Meanie."
  222. >You shrug.
  223. "Ok. You're pretty"
  224. >Sonata stamps her foot again.
  225. >"No! Say it like you mean it!"
  226. "I didn't say it like that?"
  227. >Sonata turns her back to you.
  228. >"No. Now say it right."
  229. "How?"
  230. >"Idunno. Just..."
  231. >Sonata wraps her arms around herself.
  232. >"...Just tell me I'm pretty..."
  233. >You're not really known for your creativity.
  234. >Especially when it comes to romance.
  235. >But you know enough cheesy romance movies to know girls like one thing.
  236. >Deep and meaningful eye contact.
  237. "..."
  238. >You grab Sonata by the shoulders and spin her around.
  239. >She eeps in surprise, but her eyes are still cast downward.
  240. "Hey."
  241. >"..."
  242. "Look at me."
  243. >"..."
  244. >Slowly, she looks back up at you.
  245. >The second she makes eye contact, you feel your breath hitch.
  246. >Her eyes stare into yours, a torrent of sadness swirling in the color of her eyes.
  247. >Just staring into them makes your heart feel like it's going to jump out of your chest.
  248. >The streetlights illuminate her face perfectly, catching a glint off the moistness in the corner of her eyes.
  249. >It feels like you've been staring into her eyes for hours.
  250. >But you can't pull away from them.
  251. >You want to say something to her.
  252. >To say something that will make the pain in her eyes go away.
  253. >A lump in your throat starts to form, as if the words you want to say are getting stuck.
  254. >Finally, the words seem to just burst out.
  255. "You don't need that dress to look pretty."
  256. >Sonata continues to stare into your eyes, but you catch see a faint glint deep in her expression.
  257. >You need to tell her more.
  258. >You want to tell her more.
  259. "Look."
  260. >You turn Sonata back to face the dress in the window.
  261. "You see the dress?"
  262. >She remains silent, but nods again.
  263. "You are too perfect for that dress."
  264. >You stare into the window, and see the reflection of Sonata staring back at you.
  265. "You're beyond being pretty...Sonata, you're beautiful."
  266. >You fall silent, watching Sonata through the window, her hypnotic eyes staring back at you.
  267. >Her face is as unmoving as a weathered stone.
  268. >The world seems to have held it's breath, waiting for what happens next.
  269. >The only sound is the breeze gliding listlessly through the street, and the dull hum of the streetlights.
  270. >Did you go too far?
  271. >Did you make her feel uncomfortable?
  272. >Is she gong to hit you?
  273. >Sonata's not pulling away.
  274. >She's...
  275. >She's getting closer.
  276. >You look down and see that she's stepping back towards you.
  277. "What are you-"
  278. >"Tell me that I matter."
  279. >She's pressed her back up against you.
  280. "Son-"
  281. >"I want to hear you say it."
  282. >A faint sniffle can be heard from the shivering girl as her head hangs low, her bangs obstructing any view of her face.
  283. >"I want to feel...wanted."
  284. >Another sniffle, and her other hand comes up and across her face, a dark smear of makeup smudged on the back of her hand when it pulls away.
  285. >"Ev-ever since...since Aria a-and Adagio left, I-I-I feel l-like...bad ab-about being here...l-like I don't belong."
  286. >Her breathing becomes more ragged and broken by sobs
  287. >"I don't want to feel s-s-so bad ab-about be-being me. I want to f-feel l-like I mean...s-something..."
  288. "Sonata. why did you never tell me how you feel?"
  289. >"I *sniff* I-I-I dunno. I guess I I didn't want to annoy you...*sniff* l-like Aria always t-told me I do."
  290. "You never annoy me, Sonny! Believe me..."
  291. >You turn Sonata around to face you, trying to look at her through her hair.
  292. "It's always fun having you around, I enjoy being with you."
  293. >Sonata just stands there, hanging limp like a discarded puppet.
  294. >"B-but I f-feel so...so..."
  295. "Useless?"
  296. >Sonata shivers at the word, but nods.
  297. >"An-and all th-the people *sniff* a-at school do-don't make me feel any better. Ev-even I c-can tell that *sniff they d-don't like me. I can see it in th-their faces."
  298. "Sonata you shouldn't care about them."
  299. >Sonata's head shots up, revealing that her face is streaked with mascara, as fresh tears roll down her face and down her chin.
  300. >"BUT I WANT THEM TO LIKE ME!! I WANT TO HAVE NICE FRIENDS!! I-I-I-I-"
  301. >Sonata suddenly falls into your arms, bawling into your shoulder.
  302. >All you can do is wrap your arms around the girl as she cries into your jacket.
  303. >You stand there on the sidewalk for what seems like hours, listening to Sonata's muffled sobs.
  304. >Her weeping eventually dies down to soft hiccups and whimpers.
  305. >The night, as still as if itself has fallen asleep.
  306. >The breeze starts to pick up, and you can feel the girl shiver in your arms as she wraps her arms around you.
  307. "Here, Sonata."
  308. >You step back, only for Sonata to pull you back to her.
  309. "Sonata, I'm giving you my ja-"
  310. >"No."
  311. "But you're cold."
  312. >"I don't want it."
  313. "Sonata, don't be like this."
  314. >"I-I d-don't want it."
  315. >She grabs your arm and tries to wrap it around herself.
  316. >"K-k-keep me wa-warm."
  317. >You sigh as you do as she says, slowly running your hand up and down her back.
  318. >Another prolonged moment of silence grows between you two.
  319. >Her shivering does not subside, however.
  320. "Sonata."
  321. >She remains clung to you, unmoving.
  322. "Sonata, you're not useless. You matter."
  323. >She shifts in your arms.
  324. "Your smile helps me through the day. Just being around you makes everything worth it."
  325. >You raise her chin up
  326. >Sonata just stares into your eyes, her gaze unwavering
  327. "I'm glad you came up to me the day we met. I don't know what it is, but you make ME feel like I matter."
  328. >From meeting her, to your time in the park. To every little moment you've shared with her so far.
  329. "I enjoy helping you with homework because the spark I see in your eyes when you get something it just...it just makes my heart soar!"
  330. >Every moment you've spent with her, you've felt...
  331. "Whenever I've had a bad or lame day, I've always looked forward to being with you after school
  332. >Connected.
  333. >You run your palm down her cheek, admiring the smooth perfection of her azure skin.
  334. "So you do matter, Sonata. You matter to me."
  335. >Fresh tears start to roll down Sonata's cheeks, mixing in with the caked in makeup smeared on her face.
  336. >"Anon, I...I..."
  337. >Her response is cut short by a large gust of wind, forcing another shiver out of the girl.
  338. "Here."
  339. >You pull away from Sonata and pull your coat off you.
  340. >The wind rushes to greet your newly exposed skin, the icy tendrils biting against the flesh and forming goosebumps.
  341. >You whip your coat behind her and place it on her shoulders.
  342. "Don't ever think you're a burden to me, Sonata. I love being wi-?!?"
  343. >Your lips are suddenly met with a soft and sweet senation pressing against them.
  344. >Sonata wraps her arms behind your neck and pulls herself into you.
  345. >You can feel her tears cascade down her face and onto your cheeks.
  346. >Her eyes are shut tight, as if afraid of what might happen.
  347. >Her heartbeat pounds against your chest, almost matching the rhythm of your own.
  348. >The feeling her lips are giving you...
  349. >Happiness. Admiration...
  350. >Passion.
  351. >It feels so exhilarating.
  352. >As if a warmth is spreading through you from your lips
  353. >You place your hands on Sonata's hips and lean into the kiss.
  354. >Sonata sighs into the kiss, her hands reaching up to explore your hair and face.
  355. >You can feel her hands trembling at the touch, as they lightly graze across your skin, sending shivers up your spine
  356. >The two of you stand there locked for what seems like hours.
  357. >But you aren't complaining.
  358. >You'd stay here forever with her if she asked you too.
  359. >But the burning in your lungs reminds you of your rather mortal tendencies.
  360. >You pull away from Sonata, living a thin, glistening strand attached between the two of you and a vacant feeling on your lips.
  361. >Your eyes get pulled back into the hypnotic gaze of Sonata's eyes, as she stares back into yours.
  362. >Her chest heaves with every hastened breath she takes, every exhale visible in the chilling night air.
  363. >The mist wafts over you, the smell slightly reminiscent of the intoxicating taste of her lips.
  364. >She takes a deep breath before averting her gaze away.
  365. >"Th-thank you..."
  366. "Huh? F-for what?"
  367. >"For, like, being here for me and stuff. You've been so nice to me with, like, everything. And, and I just feel like I don't, like, y'know, deserve you."
  368. >She pulls her newly acquired coat over her shoulders, as she returns her gaze to you, a bright blush on her face.
  369. >"You've made me feel all nice and liked and I-I think you're nice an-and cute and, if y-you don't think I'd be, y'know, like..."
  370. >Her voice trails off as she just stares at you.
  371. >Say it.
  372. >You know what she's going to say.
  373. >Your entire body is shaking
  374. >"Will you...will you, like...bemineforevers?"
  375. >You grab Sonata by the shoulders and pull her into another kiss.
  376. >The exhilarating feeling comes flowing back as you lock lips in a more passionate manner.
  377. >A muffled moan echos from the girl, and she wraps her arms around you once more.
  378. >They fit perfectly around you.
  379. >She fits perfectly in your arms.
  380. >her lips feel
  381. >She's perfect.
  382. >And you're hers.
  383. >You belong to Sonata.
  384. >Only Sonata.
  385. >*HOOOOOOONKKKKK*
  386. >The blaring sound of a car horn pulls you away from each other, jerking your attention to a car zooming past with a rather overweight man sticking his head out of a window.
  387. >"GET A ROOM YOU FUCKING NORmies...."
  388. >The mans voice echos into the night as the car quickly rounds a corner and disappears.
  389. >The two of you look in the direction ,before turning to each other.
  390. >After exchanging some sheepish laughter, you wrap your arm around Sonata's shoulder, and continue to walk with her down the sidewalk.
  391. >It must be pretty late, because even the streets are devoid of any activity.
  392. >The streetlights sway with the wind, their lights gently flickering.
  393. >You should feel cold with your skin this exposed.
  394. >But warmth seems to radiate off the small girl under your arm.
  395. >The two of you cross the empty intersection, paying no heed to the lonely stoplights flashing red and green in the night.
  396. "Did I answer your question?"
  397. >Sonata looks puzzled for a moment, then smiles and nods her head vigorously, before placing a light kiss on your cheek.
  398. >"Totes. I'm, like...so..."
  399. >Sonata lets out a long yawn and rubs her eyes.
  400. >"so happy."
  401. "Sounds like someone's tired. Should I take you home?"
  402. >"No! Anon stay."
  403. >She wraps her arms around you more tightly.
  404. >"Don't...leave..."
  405. >She lets out another yawn, one more drawn out this time.
  406. "Yeah you're tired. I should get you back to your place."
  407. >"Nuh-uh."
  408. >Sonata rubs her head against your chest, brushing her ponytail across your body.
  409. >The soft hairs pass over your skin, leaving goosebumps in their wake.
  410. "Sonata?"
  411. >"Hmm?"
  412. "School is tomorrow."
  413. >"No it's not."
  414. "Today's thursday."
  415. >"Nuh-uh~"
  416. "Sonata."
  417. >"Yeeeeaaaaahhhhhh~?"
  418. "We don't want to be tired at school tomorrow."
  419. >Sonata just looks up at you at pouts.
  420. >Fuck she's good.
  421. >"I want you to stay."
  422. "Yeah? And where are we gonna sleep?"
  423. >"We'll....uhhh...we'll..."
  424. >Don't overexert yourself there.
  425. >"We'll...we'll go to the park!"
  426. "The park?"
  427. >"Yeah! Pllleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaasssseee~?"
  428. >Sonata jumps in place, a youthful glint sparks in her eyes.
  429. >No.
  430. >Say no.
  431. >It's late.
  432. "I suppose."
  433. >Damnit.
  434. >Sonata squeezes you in glee, and runs across the street towards the tree lined entrance of the park.
  435. "Sonata, wait!"
  436. >...
  437. >...
  438. >The park is super dark.
  439. >Some of the lights aren't even on.
  440. >It's really scary.
  441. >The wind is making really loud noises in the trees.
  442. >The branches look like arms trying to grab you
  443. >Coming here was totally like, really scary.
  444. >It's like, someone is gonna come out and...
  445. >Something is totally grabbing your shoulder.
  446. >"Sonata?"
  447. "EEEEEEEEEEEEE! ANON!"
  448. >"Sonata it's me, calm down!"
  449. "Wha?"
  450. >You look back to see Anon standing behind you, looking kinda worried.
  451. "Oh hi Anon!"
  452. >"Sonata, come on. I need to take you home. It's late."
  453. >But...
  454. "I don't wanna."
  455. >"Don't be like that, Sonny. I promise we'll do something tomorrow.
  456. >C'mon, girl.
  457. >Make him stay.
  458. >Never leave.
  459. "Pleaaaaaaaaasssssseeeeeee??"
  460. >Focus.
  461. >Just like Dagi always told you.
  462. >Look into his eyes.
  463. >Try and feel the connoct...the cennnect...the connectoo...
  464. >The thing between him and you.
  465. >You see the green stuff sparkle in his eyes.
  466. >It's working!
  467. >It's really tiring though.
  468. >You can't do it too much.
  469. >But you're, like, almost as good as Dagi and Aria were.
  470. >...
  471. >You're not like them.
  472. >They did it to be strong.
  473. >You just want love.
  474. >They wanted everyone.
  475. >You just want one.
  476. >That makes it ok.
  477. >"Sonata!"
  478. "Eep!"
  479. >Anon snaps his fingers in front of you.
  480. >"You alright?"
  481. >His eyes...
  482. >They aren't doing the green swirly anymore...
  483. >Tartarus.
  484. >You didn't do it long enough.
  485. "I..I'm sorry..."
  486. >Anon pulls you into a big embrace.
  487. >"Look, Sonny. Tomorrow-Well, today-is a friday. I promise we can spend all weekend together at my place or your place or anywhere you want to go."
  488. >...
  489. "Ok..."
  490. >"Alright. Let's get you back to your apartment."
  491. "Y-yea...My apartment..."
  492. >...
  493. >...
  494. >You want to tell him.
  495. >He's driving you back to the building.
  496. >You want to tell him.
  497. >But what would he do?
  498. >Would he think you're useless and say really mean things, like the girls did?
  499. >His eyes aren't doing the green thingie.
  500. >Does that mean it doesn't work anymore?
  501. >Did you mess up again?
  502. >Maybe you aren't that strong...
  503. >They were so much better.
  504. >You can hear them in your head.
  505. >"Well, I can't say I'm surprised. But even for you..."
  506. >No.
  507. >"This is just what you get. You deserve this."
  508. >Stop...
  509. >"I suppose we should have expected her to do what she did."
  510. >"It's only fair."
  511. >Go away.
  512. >"You betrayed us, and you can rot in-"
  513. >"You betrayed us, and you can rot in-"
  514. "STOP!!!"
  515. >"Wha-huh?"
  516. >The car suddenly stops.
  517. >You keep going.
  518. >*Smack*
  519. >"Shit, Sonata are you ok?!?"
  520. >Anon pulls you back into your chair and you feel his hand on your head.
  521. >"You hit the dashboard pretty hard. Are you ok?"
  522. "I...yeah..."
  523. >It feels like when Dagi would...
  524. "I'm ok..."
  525. >"Good. Also, we're here."
  526. >You look out the window.
  527. >There's the gross building.
  528. >You're glad that...
  529. "..."
  530. >"Hey."
  531. "Hmm?"
  532. >"Everything ok?"
  533. >...
  534. "I just don't want you to go. I want to stay with you longer."
  535. >...
  536. >He's super quiet.
  537. >Is he waiting for you to get out?
  538. >You sigh and grab your backpack.
  539. >"Wait."
  540. >His hand brushes yours.
  541. >He's looking at you with those eyes.
  542. >They're...
  543. >They're green.
  544. >Ohmigosh They're green!
  545. >"Sonata. I promise you, I won't ever need to leave you soon."
  546. >He holds onto your hand tightly.
  547. >"We'll be together as much as you want. As much as we want."
  548. >Wait.
  549. >It's going away again!
  550. >No, stay!
  551. >Focus, Sonata, focusfocusfoc-
  552. >Your lips touch something soft.
  553. >It's Anon.
  554. >You can smell his...musk...
  555. >He smells like soap and sweat.
  556. >It makes you want more.
  557. >Undoing your seatbelt, you grab hold of his shirt and pull him into you.
  558. >You hear a muffled grunt, followed by a soft click.
  559. >He leans out of his seat and more into you.
  560. >'That's it, come to momma.'
  561. >You can feel his hand going down your side.
  562. >'Let me mark you.'
  563. >You lick his lips.
  564. >Anon moans and you feel his tongue press against yours.
  565. >Good boy.
  566. "Mmmmm~"
  567. >He tastes exactly like you wanted him too.
  568. >Like he belongs to you.
  569. >He stops kissing you and looks at you with his green, shiny eyes.
  570. >His smile is making your heart feel light.
  571. >"What say we...take this to your room?"
  572. >Oh no.
  573. "M-my room? You mean th-the apartment?"
  574. >"Uh, yeah? Where else?"
  575. "Uhm Well, you see, I uh, was, like, uh...was, like, thinking we could, y'know, like...go to...your place?"
  576. >"My. Place?"
  577. >Wait.

  580. >Again!
  581. >"I-I-I'm sorry Sonny, I-I don't...my par-I mean,your si-they-I don't thi-"
  582. >He's stopped looking at you, he's looking outside now.

  585. "But what about I come home with y-
  586. >"NO!"

  597. >"I promise I'll pick you up tomorrow."
  598. "An-"
  599. >"Good. Night."
  600. "..."
  601. >...
  602. >You watch Anon drive away.
  603. "Damnit!"
  604. >You were really close.
  605. >You kick a dirty looking glass bottle off the steps.
  606. >And then step away from the front doors.
  607. >You can't get in anymore.
  608. >That fat, nasty man yelled at you and took your key.
  609. >Your stuff isn't in there anymore.
  610. >He threw it out into a gross dumpster.
  611. >You walk down to the side of the building.
  612. >The alley is really empty.
  613. >Just a big, stinky dumpster, with your stuff in it.
  614. >At least you got your blanket out of there.
  615. >The wind is still super strong.
  616. >You pull Anon's jacket closer to your body.
  617. >It's still warm from him.
  618. >It's nice and big and goes down to your knees.
  619. >As you go down the alley, the smells make your nose wrinkle.
  620. >You pull Anon's jacket over your face.
  621. >It still smells like him.
  622. >It makes your chest feel funny.
  623. >You grab your blanket and-
  624. "EEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!"
  625. >A big rat comes falling out of it and runs away.
  626. "Grossgrossgrossgross!"
  627. >You throw the blanket back in the dumpster.
  628. "So gross."
  629. >You don't need it anyway.
  630. >You have Anon's sweater.
  631. >You grab some cardboard and drag it to the other side of the alley, by some old looking boxes.
  632. >Its the only spot that isn't wet or stinky.
  633. >You let your backpack fall off your shoulders and sit on your...bed...
  634. >It's cold.
  635. >But Anon keeps you warm.
  636. >His jacket feels like his hug
  637. >He promised he'd keep you warm.
  638. >That he'd keep you safe.
  639. >You pull the strings on the hood.
  640. >It's warm.
  641. >It smells like him.
  642. >You like that.
  643. >It makes you imagine he's here.
  644. >Holding you. Protecting you.
  645. >You like that.
