As if that was not enough, they burned those images into his mind, making sure his last memories of them haunted him even in death as they threw him into an abyssal grave and buried him alive.

Well, they had one thing right. It did haunt him in death. It haunted him in death so much that his soul was simply unable to rest and pass on. His chaotic emotions were so strong that it devoured the will of other souls and used them to bring himself back from the dead! There was a problem though. By the time he had regained conciousness hundreds of years had past and so did the people who did this to him. He had become some sort of vampiric entity that fed on energy and was out for revenge! With the people who did this to him long dead, it was truly a misfortune to any being that dared stand against him.
