Getting the client from Discord to Skype

00:11     As we know. The greatest resource for finding new coins is bitcointalk.org.  However, the greatest resource for finding clients and making money is Discord. Combine them both and we have an almost infinite amount of potential clients.

00:29     So, this is where the numbers game comes into effect. We want to be connected to as many people as possible to maximize exposure to our advertising. We are going to join as many Discord servers as we can. And the way to do it is through bitcoin talk.

Let's begin.



00:50     We are going to be searching the new coin announcements. Our goal is to find links to discord channels. It doesn't matter how many people are on their server at this point.

The way we are going to do it simple. Rather than read each post individually, we will do a search. First, let's open each announcement in a new tab. You can do that by right clicking and choosing the option to open in a new tab. Or holding control and left click the mouse. Open as many as possible from page 1. Then navigate to one of them. It would take forever to read each post and look for the discord link. Some don't even have a discord channel. So we will do a search for the word Discord. We can do this by holding control and F. Then type the word Discord. It will highlight the mentioned word. Which will then be easier for you to find. Then click on the link. Let it open up discord, join the server, then close the page.

01:56     Rinse and repeat. There is nothing difficult about this. And the best thing, everyone is your target market. Everyone on the server is there because they are interested in crypto-currencies. So this is more like shotgun marketing, but at a higher rate of success.

02:15     Just continue going page by page until you feel you have enough to get started. By adding ourselves to 20 servers in the space of 5 minutes. We have just acquired an audience of between 20 and 30 thousand. And that's just page 1 of 936. There is an almost endless supply of potential customers here.

So how do we approach them and find clients for our service?

02:44     This is why it is called a numbers game. You will need to be very actively posting in every server at every opportunity. A lot of servers have spam channels for this purpose. And some allow you to post in other channels. This is what will take you the most amount of time. But it is worth it. You will need to allocate a set amount of hours per day on this. Yes, hours per day. Copy and paste your posts into different servers.

03:15     Be brutal with your posting. Don't worry if you get banned from the server. For posting in the wrong place or aggressive posting. It's going to happen often. Have thick skin and move on. After some time, you will start getting messages in your inbox from potential clients. You should be actively aiming to speak with 2 potential clients per day. And arranging appointments via Skype rather than continuing the conversation on Discord. Your sole aim is to get a video call appointment. Then you will have a greater chance of closing the sale.

03:54     So, how does it play out. As it happens, today I received a message as a good example of a potential client. Whilst making these videos, I have not been actively seeking new clients. Yet I am still getting responses from old postingS made weeks ago.

Here is my template that works. Its simple and to the point.

Payments via Paypal for security purposes. Face to face chat prior to agreement. Blockchains, Explorers, QT's and Mining Pools. Have your blockchain created and ready for launch in 3 weeks. 04:55     Now this works because of so many factors. Stating that you accept Paypal creates trust that you are not a scammer. Paypal allows buyer protection. Then, the face to face chat instills confidence. Being able to see each other will put the buyer at ease. Even if it's just through video call. As far as I can see, no other person does this on discord. So my success rate has been high.

05:24     Giving a timeline of 3 weeks for development is good. It shows the potential client that you what your capable of. But in reality it would probably take less time. I can make any blockchain in around 6 days. So the more experience you have, the faster you can earn. The benefit of saying 3 weeks, is that you can work on other coins at the same time. And the client thinks you are hard at work on his. Better to have a longer deadline. If they want it in 2 weeks, you can charge more.

06:00     Leaving a link to your LinkedIn account is the cherry on the cake. It allows them to visit your profile and see your photo. They can then look at who you are before contacting you. All of this alleviates the fear of being scammed. Being honest, open and transparent. Those 3 things will bring you all the clients you need. Feel free to copy this template and use it for your own business. I tried many before this. But this gives the best results.

06:32     On average, I would spend 3 hours per day posting on discord. I would receive around 5 messages per day. Of which 2 would agree to meet on Skype.  The law of the numbers game. Is the more you post, the more appointments you make. And not all of those appointments will end in sales. A lot are time wasters. so book as many as you can. Everyday, you should be having at least 2 Skype appointments to see any kind of results.

07:06     Now, this leads me on to the messaging. When you get a message in your inbox from a potential client. You need to respond as soon as possible. The longer you leave it, the less likely you will get the sale. In that very moment, the client is interested in your service. They want you to create a blockchain for them. They want to pay you money.  Jump on the opportunity. Leaving it 24 hours will destroy your chances of a sale. The client will never be as interested as they are when they first message. And it doesn't take much to respond to a message. Discord can be used on a mobile device, so being away from your computer is no excuse.

07:52     Okay, let's look at a typical message. This I received today. Their opening message is asking for more information. They are showing interest. Remember, they contacted me. Not the other way around. So, we can already say that they have a need for my service.

08:12     Next, I respond within a few minutes. I have my phone set to receive discord messages. You should do this too. My response is simple and too the point. I was actually out grocery shopping at the time, so I didn't want to type too much. But at the same time, I will never turn away a potential client. My question asking about their requirements, allows me to see their knowledge of blockchains. The client then admits that they do not know much. It is often the case.

08:47     What they are asking for is very simple to do. You have learned this in the program already. Except for the donation address. But that is easy to do. If you ever get a request for something like this and you don't know how to do it. Just find a coin that already does donation addresses. Then look in the main.cpp file to see how they code the nSubsidy. Use the same format in your source code and you are set.

09:17     Anyway, my main goal during this conversation, is to get the client to agree on a Skype meeting. Once he has agreed, I know I have a higher chance of closing the sale.

09:29     You can see the client asked about costs. Sometimes it is good to state an estimated cost for the service at this point. It weeds out the time wasters. Often you will find people agreeing to chat on Skype, and then reject the price. As this guy has not flinched at the price. I can assume he is serious.

09:52     After giving my Skype address, he replies with a time. To confirm the time, and also make sure he is not a time waster. I request his Skype address.

10:04     So, I now have a potential client meeting on Skype tomorrow at 2pm. He already knows that the price is around 0.5 Bitcoin for the service. At today's price, that's 4679 US dollars. For around a weeks work. Now, don't get your hopes up at this point. Most are tire kickers. Not every call will be a sale.
