  1. This guide is a WIP.

  4.
  5. What is it: Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns is the latest entry into the Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons / Bokujō Monogatari / Farm Story / Whatever the fuck you want to call it series of games. This game is different in that there are multiple villages (Westown, Lulukoko, and Tsuyukusa) each complete with its own villagers, reputation system, shops, holidays, etc.
  6.
  7. Nobody will judge you for playing these games casual and comfy, but for people who want to go balls-to-the-wall in efficiency, there's great resources out there to help you get started and prepare for what's to come; This guide is simply meant to condense the information provided by various websites and tips.
  8.
  9. The best website to gather information is, by far, Fogu, a Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons fansite that has given details on every game in the series. It can be found here:

  128. Tips from another poster:
  129.
  130. - Upgrade your house ASAP. Even if you have to blow all your money buying materials or something, just do it.
  131. - You're going to want to hold onto the various herbs and plants that you find on the ground. You might need them later.
  132. - Eventually you'll get the option to upgrade your farm tools. Hammer and watering can should be what you prioritize.
  133. - The trait you pick during character creation doesn't really matter.
  134. - Once summer starts you'll want to plant quite a few tomato plants. They can be used in simple recipes and let's you recover stamina easily. Sweet potatoes are the equivalent for the fall season.
  135. - Raising the stats if your animals is a slow process, so get on that early.
  136. - You can give Dessie gifts by both literally giving her gifts and throwing them into her pond. She likes wildflowers. Do both once a day, because she gives you stuff. Do not do it until she appears though, because otherwise it's littering. Her pond is the one she stands next to.
  137. - Do the farming tips ASAP. They unlock a bunch of good stuff.
  138. - For at least the earlier Town Link rank unlocks, it says you have to ship X things harvested from your fields/animals. You can just buy that shit from a store and shove it in the bin and the game doesn't care.
  139. - To quickly up Westown's town link, if you're on Seedling, once you've upgraded your house, buy as much milk as you can afford and turn it into hot milk and sell it. Soon enough it'll stop being a slight loss and start being a slight profit, AND you're buying a shitton of stuff from Westown. Try doing the same for the other towns once you get recipes you can make easily enough.
  140. - You want to make sure you plant sweet potatoes, adzuki beans, and chili peppers as soon as you can, and save a lot of all of them (though there's a good chance you'll know EXACTLY why before you can even get the first or the last)
  141.
  142. -----
  143.
  144. A fashion show calculator has been provided at the following Drive link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6GhHQ-wwA-veFNfSFVxQjI5QnM/view
  145.
  146. -----
  147.
  148. Do
  149. - Grow the shit mentioned in the "Raw Materials" section of this Pastebin as soon as possible.
  150. - Get animals ASAP, they're ridiculously lucrative in this game, give them Chewy Treats until they give you 20 products a day
  151. - Upgrade your tools as soon as possible, which is to say shortly after mid-Spring.
  152.
  153. Don't
  154. - Choose Fisherman as your personality unless you want a shit bonus.
  155. - Bring animals to "S" Product level (above A) until you no longer need their basic product for anything
  156. - Sell gems when possible, they're extremely profitable and can be a good income source early on but you need a shitload for upgrades
  157. - Marry Inari unless you understand the shortcomings of marrying a deity
  158. - Do NOT wait on upgrading your home.
  159.
  160. -----
  161. 2B - LINK RANKS:
  162. -----
  163.
  164. Link Ranks are the connection you have to each village, and the people within. You start out at rank E for every town, and gradually work your way up by completing jobs, interacting with villagers, or competing in events. At the end of each rank, you get a lock on your Link Rank, that will not allow you to progress until you complete set tasks. Any task you get will not count until you receive that lock as well, so any crops or chores you complete prior to it will not count.

  310.
  311. "You will need to grow Grape Trees to collect the fruit needed to make wine. Grape Tree Seedlings are sold at the Gulliver's in Westown once you reach Rank D with Westown. The tree will produce Grape during Fall season. In order to flat-out buy Grapes you'll need to reach Rank C with Lulukoko, Rank D with Westown, and ship at lest 30 Grape to any of the towns. The fruit will then be for sale at the Santo de Mango fruit stall in South Lulukoko for 620 G each during Fall.
  312.
  313. The Winery Farm Circle is at Ludus' shop for 20,000 G and 30 Lumber, 15 Coconut, 15 Vanilla, 15 Rosemary, and 3 Platinum. Lumber you can collect on your own, but Coconut is a little trickier.
  314.
  315. You can't buy the Coconut fruit from any shop, and the tree seedling doesn't unlock until you have reached Rank B with Lulukoko or you have shipped at least 200 tree fruit to Lulukoko. Another way to unlock the seedling is to participate in the Lulukoko Fruit Fiesta on Fall 26, where giving fruit to the villagers will result in you receiving fruit in return. If you happen to receive a Coconut from someone, place it in the Seed Maker Farm Circle to produce a seedling to plant on your farm. Coconut Trees produce fruit during Summer.
  316.
  317. Vanilla is a wild-grown item you can find in Lulukoko. Look for the two small trees just south of Ludus' stall. You can pick wild Vanilla pods every five days during Spring, Summer, and Fall.

  319. Rosemary is a wild-grown item found on the ground in South Lulukoko or North Lulukoko in any season.
  320.
  321. Platinum can be found while mining at the mining point next to the Postio in Westown.
  322.
  323. After you place the Farm Circle on your farm, you can produce Grape Wine by placing a Grape into the machine. Wine take 48 hours to process. You will want to place each Grape into the Winery one at a time instead of a stack, as the Winery takes less time to process each one rather than as a mass group."
  324.
  325. -----
  326. 3C - ANIMALS
  327. -----
  328.
  329. This game is different from most Harvest Moon games in that animal husbandry is actually VERY profitable. The amount and quality of materials directly scales for every half heart of friendship you have with an animal, and as a result, you can earn thousands of G per day by a single animal, if cared for properly.
  330.
  331. Remember to purchase animal treats ASAP, and feed them daily to your animals. It greatly raises affection for very little G, and pays for itself in no time.
  332.
  333. -----
  334. 3C1 - PRODUCTION
  335. -----
  336.
  337. Every animal produces more product over a set amount of time.
  338.
  339. Cows - Daily
  340. - Note: Failing to milk a cow will waste the milk
  341. Chickens - Daily
  342. - Note: Chicken eggs do not need to be collected daily. The eggs will pile up.
  343. Sheep and Suffolk Sheep - Every 3 days
  344. Angora Rabbit and Grey Angora Rabbit - Every 4 days
  345. Alpaca and Brown Alpaca - Every 5 days
  346. Llama - Every 6 days
  347.
  348. -----
  349. 3C2 - PERSONALITY
  350. -----
  351.
  352. Personality of animal effects what it can produce.
  353.
  354. - Timid
  355. - Affection: Harder to gain
  356. - Byproduct Amount: Easier to gain
  357. - Active
  358. - Stress: Easier to gain
  359. - Byproduct Level: Easier to gain
  360. - Gentle
  361. - No Negatives
  362. - Coat: Easier to gain
  363. - Cheerful
  364. - No Negatives
  365. - Affection: Easier to gain
  366. - Calm
  367. - No Negatives
  368. - Stress: Harder to gain

  370.
  371. -----
  372. 3C3 - UNLOCKING
  373. -----
  374.
  375. You can unlock animals through alternative routes than simply raising Town Links.
  376.
  377. - Buffalo
  378. - Ship 100 Milk and 100 Jersey Milk to any town
  379. - Suffolk Sheep
  380. - Ship 70 Wool to any town

  386. - Ship 70 Angora Rabbit Wool to any town
  387.
  388. -----
  389. 3C4 - BREEDING
  390. -----
  391.
