+nationalparksign __ It was certainly done with the appearances of being "live" with their (scripted) "back and forth" but I am sure if asked about it they'd say it was "cleverly staged" with "Chris Hadfield" prerecording his parts and the videographers at "NASA" then spliced it all together.

It's one of those videos where if children watch it they could easily believe it had been done "live" (and that is what they'd be encouraged to think unless it is questioned).
