  1. >Twilight nudges you, and you curl into a tighter ball as a response.
  2. >A more firm nudge.
  3. >You spring to your feet with as much force as you can muster, and send her flying.
  4. "What?"
  5. >She digs herself out of the pile you knocked her into.
  6. >"The carriage is here. We're leaving."
  7. "You might be, but I'm not."
  8. >"Why?"
  9. "Because Canterlot is pretty alright, but with me 'pretty alright' just isn't going to cut it. I'm going to make Canterlot less boring."
  10. >She gives up, and slinks away.
  11. >A short while later, you hear the flapping of wings, and she's gone.
  12. >It's time to pay somepony a visit.
  13. >No longer compelled to be on your best behavior, You stop being in the suite
  14. >And start being in Canterlot Castle.
  15. >You carefully climb the nearest wall, and climb your way onto the ceiling.
  16. >Now none of the guards will be able to see you!
  17. >You climb through the castle at random, before finding a bedroom.
  18. >Inside the bedroom is the one and only Princess Celestia.
  19. >She's sitting at a table, drinking tea.
  20. >She isn't looking at you.
  21. >You lower yourself from the ceiling, and swim your way through the air towards her.
  22. >You stop behind her, and take a silent, deep breath.
  23. "Hi, Celestia!"
  24. >She doesn't freak out as much as you thought she would.
  25. >She still jumps a couple feet into the air and turns to face you, but she hasn't left the room yet, which is helpful.
  26. >"How did you get in here?"
  27. "With my intuition. But that isn't important, what is important is that Canterlot, despite being really fancy, is also incredibly dull."
  28. >You sit down and put on a serious face.
  29. "We both want things to be more interesting. I can do that."
  30. >She calms down a bit when she realises that you aren't some sort of assassin.
  31. >"What did you have in mind, Anonymous?"
  32. >You rub your hands together in mischievous delight.
  33.
  34. >You stab the drill into the mountain face.
  35. >While it turns out that the princesses don't have any giant mining drills just lying about, Celestia assured you that a regular cordless drill would work fine.
  36. >And it turns out that they didn't have any cordless drills, either, so you just cut the cord off a corded one.
  37. >You turn on the drill, and the mountain splits in twain.
  38. >You stick your fingernails into the crack, and lift the mountain up.
  39. >Once it gets a fair bit in the air, you stick your hands further in the gap to get a better grip.
  40. >Straining as hard as you can, you eventually lift the entire mountain above your head.
  41. >You place the mountain firmly in the air, and walk backwards to get a better look.
  42. >Yeah, compared to the height of the mountain, that's not very noticeable.
  43. >You go underneath the middle of the mountain, and push it up as hard as you can.
  44. >Then, once you can't push it any higher, you step up onto the air.
  45. >You continue like this for some time.
  46. >After about three quarters of an hour, you've gotten the mountain a decent height above the ground.
  47. >You walk back out from under the mountain, and decide that a floating island with a flat bottom just doesn't look right.
  48. >You grab your cordless drill and walk up the side of the mountain.
  49. >About a third of the way up you stick your drill in, angled down, and turn it on.
  50. >Again, the mountain is sundered.
  51. >You take the bit of mountain off the bottom and toss it into space.
  52. >Space is pretty big, so you doubt it's going to come back to haunt you later.
  53. >Now all that remains is to deal with the ugly plateau underneath your floating island.
  54. >Water erodes stone and stuff. Let's use that.
  55. >You stop being at the edge of the mountain Canterlot is on
  56. >And start being at the start of your waterslide.
  57. >It's still on fire, which is good to know.
  58. >Rainbow Dash's house is still raining on it, and doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon.
  59. >You grab the house and stop being in Ponyville
  60. >And start being directly underneath Canterlot.
  61. >The rain pours from the house, and you wait for it to erode the plateau into something more reasonable.
  62. >In short order, Rainbow Dash flies out of her house, presumably to give you a stern talking to.
  63. >"Why's it so dark all of a sudden!?"
  64. "I needed your house to erode this plateau. It's under a mountain, which is why it's so dark."
  65. >"Oh. I guess that makes sense."
  66. >And she goes back into her house.
  67. >You see a light turn on in one of the rooms, and that's that.
  68. >You wait.
  69. >Eroding things is meant to take place over a long time, so you give it a few hours.
  70. >When said few hours are up, you look over the ground.
  71. >Despite it being really dark, you can see that the flat stone has turned into normal dirt.
  72. >Nature in action.
  73. >You grab a hold of Rainbow Dash's house again.
  74. "It's going to be a little bright!"
  75. >You stop being under Canterlot
  76. >And start being over the start of the waterslide.
  77. >As the water begins to flow down the slide again, you feel as though all is right with the world.
  78. >You stop being in Ponyville
  79. >And start being back in Canterlot, on top of Celestia.
  80. "Done!"
  81. >She's quite surprised, and panics a bit.
  82. >She regains her composure though, and speaks.
  83. >"I'm sorry, Anon, but I don't believe you. I didn't feel anything."
  84. "That's fine, I'll show you!"
  85. >You hug the living daylights out of Celestia, stop being in Canterlot
  86. >And start being just outside of it.
  87. >Though you're firmly held in the air, Celestia still freaks out.
  88. >Screaming, flailing wildly, the usual.
  89. >Again, she calms down and looks at the floating island Canterlot is situated on.
  90. >She is struck dumb with awe.
  91. >You put her down in the air and start to wait, occasionally tapping your wrist.
  92. >She snaps out of it some time later. You weren't really paying attention to how much time passed.
  93. >"That's amazing!"
  94. >She seems much more energetic now.
  95. >"There's just a small problem."
  96. >Cocked eyebrow.
  97. >"How will anypony get up without wings?"
  98. >Ah.
  99. "Teleportation would probably work."
  100. >"Any idea how you would do that?"
  101. "One or two."
  102. >And so you set off in search of a doorframe.
  103. >After a few minutes you find one just lying around, attached to somepony's house.
  104. >You rip the door out of it's hole, and take it to the train station.
  105. >After surveying the walls for a good place to put it, you tear the entrance off one side of the door, and put that side on the wall.
  106. >You stop being in the train station
  107. >And start being underneath Canterlot.
  108. >You quickly drill out a slab of stone, and haul it to the edge of the floating island's shadow.
  109. >After stabbing it upright in the ground, you put the entrance of the door on it.
  110. >And just like you thought it would happen, the door leads to Canterlot Central Station.
  111. >You step through, and back again, just to see if anything bad was going to happen.
  112. >Evidently not!
  113. >You stop being outside Canterlot
  114. >And start being on top of Celestia.
  115. >She's slightly startled, but not as much as last time.
  116. "I made a way to get from Canterlot to the ground and back again!"
  117. >You hug Celestia, and stop being wherever
  118. >And start being outside your door.
  119. >Again, not much panic this time. She gets used to things easily, it seems.
  120. "Tada!"
  121. >She inspects the door, then steps through.
  122. >She's grinning from ear to ear.
  123. >"And this uses no magic whatsoever?"
  124. "Why would it?"
  125. >She's bouncing a bit. Her excitement is adorable.
  126. "Now what?"
  127. >"Lights! It's too expensive to keep all of Canterlot lit up with gas lamps or fireflies, so I've been looking for an alternative! I'm sure you can do it!"
  128. "How do you think I would go about doing that?"
  129. >She calms down somewhat, and starts to think.
  130. >"Knowing what you can do, you could probably catch sunlight with your hands and use that."
  131. >You hold up your hands and then close them.
  132. >The light now in your hands, you squeeze it as tightly as you can, then let it go.
  133. >A small orb of light floats there.
  134. >Another burst of excitement from the usually reserved monarch.
  135. >Guess you just have that effect on people.
  136. >You start bounding around Canterlot, princess in tow, and replace all the lights with your fancy sunlight orbs.
  137. >Canterlot is pretty big, so it takes you a couple hours to do it.
  138. >Celestia is giggling the whole time.
  139. >By the time you've finished the whole city, the sun has set.
  140. >You walk some distance away from Canterlot with Celestia, and survey your handiwork.
  141. >Canterlot, situated on a floating island and lit by thousands of pinpoints of light, looks pretty damn amazing.
  142. >You stretch and yawn.
  143. "Well, I'm gonna go to sleep now."
  144. >"What? But you've only just begun!"
  145. "Yeah, and I'm going to continue tomorrow. Got anywhere for me to sleep? Wait, don't answer that, I'll figure it out on my own."
  146. >You amble through the air towards Canterlot, leaving Celestia behind, enter somepony's house at random, and fall asleep in their hallway.
  147. >Well, that was fun.
