Words are that shavs are coming up out of the river attempting to get into the city. However, by the time forces are scrambled down to the rivermouth they find that five local defenders have lain waste to a force of twenty four shavs. Princess Freja Redrain, Master Orathy Culer, Lady Brier Crovane, Marquis Ford Kennex, and Mistress Magden have been said to have stopped the small force of Shavs from entering the city with their weapons-- and in the case of Brier Crovane fists --alone. However... there are whispers that one or two shavs may have gotten past them and into the boroughs... Still, that five people managed to stop /twenty four/ men on their own?|/|/|h|!W|-----|/|/|h|!W|-The tales are coming up from the Lower Boroughs, over a hunt for the Bringers. An explosion rocked the tightly knit weave of houses along a narrow path south of the Visitors gate, imploding one building in a hale of fire and smoke.|/|/|h|!W|-----|/|/|h|!W|-The tales to come from it, speak of Lagoma's Blessed Lantern being held up by Iron Guard Sparte to banish away shadows to see where one could not and how he spat FIRE at the Bringers! It tells how one of the the faithful, Merek Black, rinsed his blade in Holy Water, enabling him to glorious courage to sheer a great rent into a Bringer's neck through walls of fire! It tells of how a Wyrmguard Marquessa by the name of Dominique leaped across a roof top as if she was born to fly, scrambling with perfect agility and lending this to the fight of shadows within the house! It tells of a small godsworn sister Umay, after trying in vain to heal a woman that had suffered at the hands of the enemy and how with righteous anger, she threw with all her might a chair that splintered against the Bringer!|/|/|-It tells of a Lord Valdemar Grimhall, so full of vengeance becrying foul against the Bringers for their use of decoys and slight against his House, that his sword arm was twice as powerful as ever before, carried by the wrath of Thrax to bring an end to the enemy! It tells of a Lady Tikva River, boundless across roof tops, with sharp cat like eyes to discovering the body of a slain Inquisitor tucked away, leading the group to find those responsible in the first place. The same Lady whom later sung a beautiful melody in battle to save her companions and call doom toward her, and her alone, for she turned the Bringer's eye! |/|/|-The tale of the well known bouncer Ferrando, as he stood ground, protected his companions, and boasted with confidence to the demands of the enemy to Join Brand, refuting them, and finding the strength to bathe the floor in Bringer blood when his mighty mace brought down the Bringer threat! |/|/|-The last tale, tells in more obscurity, the rope cutter Culler, the pseudo leader of this rag tag group, who rigged the house to explode, only at the last minute to recall he did and order all out! Of that leader's near mistake as the place went up in a ball of hot flame. The reality is, a group of eight from all different walks of life, came together to Hunt down and successfully Kill two Bringers. There are Two Less now, that the people of Arx must deal with.|/|/|h|!W|-----|/|/|h|!W|-The word goes out that there had been a coordinated surprise attack at the graveyard in the Lower Boroughs, in the dead of night. The Knights of the Solace who had been standing on duty, responded with efficiency in the thickest fog to have ever been seen in a graveyard. A fog so thick it snuffed out lanterns and left only one beacon of hope held by Duke Cassius Pravus. Although, Felix Meadson took severe injury, the valiant efforts of names like Lord Tobias Telmar, Costas Voducce, Mathias Coaldust, Ferrando, Sparte are also recognized for holding back the Silence.|/|/|h|!W|-----|/|/|h|!W|-Rumor spreads about an attempt on the life of Duchess Belladonna Pravus at the Ward of the Lyceum by a group of Bringers. Tales of archers on the rooftops raining arrows on civilians, and people turning on each other are sung by bards, along with the story of the survival of the Duchess thanks to the intervention of a group of brave heroes. |/|/|h|!W|-Among those named are Princess Reese Grayson, Alrec Magaldi, Mathias Coaldus, Lord Tobias Telmar, Lord Ywaine Telmar and Orathy Culler. Word at the Hundred Cities also is that the duchess valiantly managed to keep the crowd on the streets from a full panic, while ensuring the wounded received prompt aid. The attempt by the Bringers was a failure, but with such a blatant yet coordinate attack it's become obvious that truly, nobody is safe as long as the enemy hides within us.|/|/|h|!W|-----|/|/|h|!W|-A tale starts circulating around the city that late in the night of the 4th of the 3rd month in the 1006th year after the Reckoning ... a party of thirty shavs and one bringer attempted to rush the gate. The forces on the wall that time speak of the Guardsmen Calaudrin Estardes' capable leadership telling them how hard to hit and when, boosting their confidence. The speak of the excellent aim of Lady Dulcinea Telmar and that of Dame Esoka Greenblood-- firing onto the shavs and the Bringer. Rumor is that Guardsmen Estardes ordered the arches to set their arrows on fire the Bringer light up like a candle... Only to be felled by Lady Telmar and Dame Greenblood LEAPING down from the ramparts onto the Bringer. Lady Telmar shooting with her arrow on the way down and Dame Greenblood cutting the Bringer in half...|/|/|h|!W|-----|/|/|h|!W|-Late in the night a cry of 'Fire! Fire!' comes from the upper boroughs, and the city's people scramble to put the fire out. With the help of several people the fire is put out: The Royal Stable Master (Tristan) takes command of the situation along with Moira Grayhope, getting people organized and-- if the rumors are true-- preventing sabotage by buckets of cooking oil and lard that were left nearby. Rumors are, however, that after the fire is put out that a member of the Inquisition (Halsim Duskweave) and Asher Morrlin found the person responsible and it was a BRINGER! They say that Leta Broadbent and Tristan and Asher Morrlin fought the Bringer and felled it just before the Guards and members of the Inquisition arrived to investigate...|/|/|h|!W|-----|/|/|h|!W|-Another attack comes in the night. A large force of Shavs-- some say thirty to forty --took a push at the wall. Attempting to get up onto the walls with ropes and crude mining hooks. However, the Lord Commander of the Iron Guard Silas Mercier and many of his officers-- including First Officer Lord Michael Bisland, Guardsmen Sparte and Office Caluadrin Estardes and ... the Messenger Mae Culler? Were on the walls to repel the first. They say that Sparte took a blow so mighty that it would have felled stronger men, and that Mae Culler /pushed a Bringer/ off of the walls? While Michael took down at least ten Shavs on his own, and Silas and Calaudrin took out the rest. They say that the Lord Commander cut a swath of nearly twenty shavs down.|/|/{n
