- [19:47] "Liar, monster, thief."
- The words were howled in response, an attempt to drown his voice.
- "Betrayer! I loved you!
- I hope you BURN!"
- And in truth she knew he would.
- Yet still she wailed. Still she shrieked. A cacophony of voices rang out from the confines of her cell, only one was even remotely human. The rest were sourceless, echoing all around, conveying just what agony that imprisoned beast felt in the face of such a creature as Him.
- Envy.
- Envy, who slipped from her grasp yet again. Who blasted her away to the back wall again. Who crack the wall yet further, who stained it black with his once-lover's blood. Her body trembled where she rested, for a time. Simply crying, wailing, screeching, sobbing, letting all those emotions within escape into the stale dungeon air..
- But she didn't stay there. He was leaving. He would try to get away again. Surely, he wasn't so ridiculously stupid as to stay. No, Envy was a smart creature. The moment she found her strength once more she was on her feet. She was at the bars. Rattling and raging and forcing the metal to groan beneath her strength.
- Despite the collar she still bent metal.
- She still sought to break this barrier between himself and her. To catch him as he spoke to her, to tear out that tongue so he could say no more to rip out his heart and take it back to consume his life- His memories. His everything. So she could have her Envy back. So she could be happy again. Because it was always, always for him.
- "Everything I ever was!
- Everything I ever did!
- It was always for YOU!
- I loved you!
- I loved you!"
- Despite the rolling thunder, despite the telekinetic power which blasted through the cells, she held on. She kept at the door even as he broke open that rift in the lifestream. Even as he made it bleed once more. Thin, weak tendrils of her sin reached after him. One arm reached through the bars to find purchase. Anything.
- But he was gone soon enough. For a third time now he left her behind. For a third time now she was left in her cell. A caged beast, a broken toy. Still he called her his Gluttony, and still there was part of her which so desperately wanted that back. To be his. To have him as her own.
- Once something is truly lost, there's no way to bring it back.
- He doesn't want you anymore.
- But WE are here for you..
- Ya hav' ta be somethin' other than Gluttony.
- Only a slave must do anything.
- He was gone from her sight. The chill slowly subsided, but the storm had done anything but. Blackened blood stained the bricks as the sin tore at the walls, at the bars of her cage, caring not for her own safety. Breaking her own bones as she punched and kicked and scratched at the inside of her cage. As she broke the bed over her knee.
- Splinters scattered, but they didn't lay there forever. Those shattered pieces, inedible as they were, were slowly gathered and consumed. As were the sheets. Bit by bit, as she tore herself to pieces. As she wore herself out. So too did everything in the cell disappear.
- Until, at last, she came to stand, facing the mural of blackened blood and broken bricks. She swayed, swathed in green, staring toward the 'art' she had made. Staring with sickly green eyes. In what might've constituted as a moment of calm, her quicksilver sin slowly stretched forward.
- Tendrils of light lapped up every last drop of her tar-like blood.
- Bones popped back into place with sickening squelching sounds. Her hand slowly lifted, once her fingers had returned to working order. Beneath her cloak she drew forth something small.. Comparatively so, at least.
- Everlasting ice, and sparkling amethyst.
- The many eyes she carried with her stared down into that single, glowering amethyst. The singular eye which stared back at her. She felt the hair raise upon the back of her neck. A presence. Someone watching her. And in her ear the gentle whispers. Like a siren's song, so alluring.
- He never really loved you.
- Look what he's done to you..
- Break your chains dear Famine...
- Her hands started to tremble.
- It rang out like the shattering of glass.
- That thing he'd used as their wedding ring.
- Now lie upon bloodied stone, a broken crown.
- (Gluttony)
