Lara’n her way against the day



Fenris was always a brutal place, its climate was horrifically cold, it would have occasional earthquakes and the wildlife was large and murderous. Most of the people who lived there avoided interacting with anything outside whatever settlement they lived in or if they could help it outside their homes, and the nicest thing they would ever say about the planet itself is that it can look nice.

The new master of Asaheim, Lara Russ, was invincible to the cold land and undefeated by anything creature that walked above it. Her territorial conquest had ended, and she ruled over everything, there was little to do then hunt beasts and engage in wanton revelry.

Russ kept her blond hair long with two small braids on each side of her head, wearing clothing made from the fur and leather of the native wolvers and bears she had slain. She hadn’t begun drinking yet and was growing frustrated with whatever was holding up the food. Discussion around her turned to the usual subjects, tales of hunts and sexual conquests, Lara had experienced the greatest of both however was frustrated by her own sheer size in the latter.

Stragglers continued to enter the great hall every couple of seconds, most of the people she recognised, a few she didn’t, including some idiot without a shirt on, one garish looking old man in a black coat and a woman who Lara believed to have been the child of one of her bards.

Finally, Lara thought as a horde of servants began carrying out tankards of ale, and endless roasted animals. The giant was not in any mood for a long speech but as the last of the food was sat upon the great long tables stood up drink in the air and yelled “I’LL BUILD A STATUE DEDICATED TO THE FIRST MAN WHO FALLS OVER DEAD” then sat back down and began drinking as the crowd cheered and began to feast.

Only a few minutes later Lara was beginning to feel better, and the room had finally livened up. Lara did not and hoped never to consider her drinking ‘controlled’ a word spat out by those who couldn’t hold their drink or were too poor to buy another, she didn’t suffer from either and was beginning to feel very warm. She gestured for another drink and began to retell the tale of when her ship had been attacked by a gigantic squid, the details were made up fortunately, in this state, she could hardly remember them anyway.

This tale was one of her better ones, and a crowd started to gather around her, shouting as she mimed wrestling with the creatures many arms and cheering as she hurled pieces of her own boat at the monster’s eye. The story was enrapturing and when it was over several nice-looking men walked up one by one to give their complements. The men within her circles generally agreed that if Lara got drunk she would be having sex with one of them and each would attempt to woo the woman where possible.

The last person to come up to her was the hunched old man wearing a dark cloak, surely, he could not be serious, the man was either insane or here to try and kill her for power, or perhaps he was the son of the squid and wanted vengeance.

“Well, what did you think of my tale old man?” The man’s back unhunched and he raised to his full height, two full heads taller than herself, his hand raised up and slid the hood from his head revealing a man made from marble with every feature chiselled into his being. He was the most beautiful man she had seen in her entire life.

“It was enjoyable, I am glad to have finally found you, Lara of Fenris, we have much to discuss.” The wolf wet her lips, this man, his body, his eyes and dear god his voice. Lara decided in that moment that the stranger would be hers even if it took all night and into tomorrow. “I” Lara coughed, trying to lower voice to something more sensual “Indeed, I am sure that we do, please take a seat and join me for a drink.”

The man sat down onto a wooden seat that was far too small for him that Lara had requisitioned from a passed-out bear hunter who took her speech too literally. The wolf queen grasped across the table towards a haunch of meat and began to violently stuff it into her mouth, greasy fingers making a mess of herself. The man didn’t see a fork, so he waited and watched fascinated as he watched this feral girl drink the remainder of her cup and wipe her hands off on the table.

“Now, strapping young man, I haven’t seen you before, do you have a name? I think I’ll want to know it for later, that is if you are fortunate.” Her hand then crawled towards his leg, the man put on a profoundly uncomfortable facial expression and batted away the advance with the back of his hand.

The hand recoiled, but Lara was not concerned, such a large man could still be quite shy, perhaps he was simply inexperienced with ladies. Perhaps she was even intimidating the man, it certainly was a common reaction as she was his queen, Lara could order him to do whatever she wanted and maybe he was waiting for her to take control.

“Alright, whatever your name is, I need some help moving something up some steps or maybe sharpen my axe collection and you are going to help me.” Lara stood up and beckoned towards a more ornate door that led to her study and bedchamber. Several of the men noticed this and gave up, fully committing themselves back to drinking.

The Emperor didn’t know what exactly he had done wrong that would cause him to deserve this, he assumed that as with Hera he wouldn’t have difficulty with recruiting Lara. He would show up, reveal himself dramatically at an appropriate time, and she would swear allegiance immediately or at the very least want to have a serious talk. Well, when it comes to wolves, the only thing that can be done is to show them that you are the alpha and assert dominance. The Emperor stood to his full height and proclaimed his provocation. “I, the Emperor of mankind and ruler of the imperium challenge you for your fealty, you may choose the method of contest.”

The bustling party was suddenly quiet. Lara stared at the man, the gears slowly turning within her head, her drunken mind didn’t understand what was happening, more accurately she did understand what was happening but not why. This bastard did want power, unfortunately Lara had never failed to defeat a competitor to her rule.
“Ha, the Emperor? How honoured we all feel to be in your audience.” Lara gave a deep bow and smiled “The winner will be whoever can stand outside naked for the longest.” She had already drunk quite a lot earlier, and although she was confident that the man stood no chance in the standard drinking competition. she wasn’t wanting to take a risk. “When I win, you are going to become my personal attendant, and I have a special job for you that I think you will enjoy.”

A cheering crowd escorted the two to the entrance, they expected this to be over quickly and went back to eating as soon as the two exited.
The temperature directly outside the great hall was miserably snowy and in the negative 50s, anyone but Lara would be dead within a few minutes without their warm woolly garments. The wolf queen was different, she was raised in the wild, and her exposure at such a young age had forced her body to adapt, the competition was impossible to lose, and she could stay out for as long as she wanted. As Lara removed her bra she looked to the man, he was looking out into this distance, there was a very impressive series of mountains that seemed to of grabbed his attention.
He wasn’t losing his pants yet, but that didn’t really matter at the moment.

The Emperor turned back to his daughter. “I didn’t believe that you were serious about this when you dragged me out here.” The man didn’t even move his eyes downward towards her wondrous breasts even for a moment, Lara was beginning to have suspicions as to what type of person this man actually wanted to fuck.  “What? Of course, I am serious! Either get naked or give up, if you do there may still be time for me to forget all about this.”
“I decided to challenge you like this in order to avoid this sort of thing.”
“You challenged my rule to AVOID having sex with me? You are a gay aren’t you!”
The Emperor frowned, “No, if you give this up and put back on your underpants I’ll explain why I’m here.”
Lara pouted, “I’m going to force you to explain when I win, you asked for this challenge and I’m not letting you weasel out of it.”

The Emperor sighed and removed his shirt, reached down and grabbed a handful of the blistering snow. He slowly spread the snow over his chest, not showing any sign of discomfort. “I know that you can do this as long as you want, as can I. There is no reason for the two of us to be wasting our time out here when we both have things to do. You want to go back indoors and drink until your head explodes and I want to talk. We can sort this out reasonably, I’ll talk then if you still want to you can do whatever you want.”

Lara saw great wisdom in this but was too drunk to allow this to happen peacefully. “Then there is only one way to resolve this.” The master of mankind found himself tackled by an angry nude ball of energy. The Emperor simply fell forwards into Lara and trapping her beneath him.

Lara was squashed under the giant of a man, she hadn’t been held like this before and she was beginning to feel warm despite still being out in the cold. She could feel every definition on his form, wait, that’s impossible. In horror the woman cried out, it was large but. “You aren’t even hard! Not even a bit!”
“I am here to collect you and show you your true destiny, you are my daughter.”
Lara shook her head and began to hit her fathers back with her fists, “That’s not a good enough excuse!”
