  19. The main goals of flossing are restoring joint mechanics through JOINT CENTRATION, OCCLUSION, and MOVEMENT. When the tension is high and evenly distributed joint centration and occlusion occur. Going through your range of motion forces tightly compressed muscle tissue (as well as fascia, obviously) to rub against one another due to the resistance of the band (including muscle fibres you don't normally use), which forces you to activate the correct muscles as the joint is now being held in the proper place, restoring joint mechanics. After around two minutes, if you're doing it right, the outwards portion of your joint will start going limp, a byproduct of occlusion, which will in turn signal your brain and trigger hyperemia (blood will rush to it), nourishing the joint.

  22. -You should use a latex rubber band that's 1.5mm/0.06" thick. Do not buy $30 overly expensive WOD ones, they're only 1.3mm thick (some are 1mm, even less tension), and they're extremely overpriced.
  23. -It's also VERY important to keep the tension EVEN throughout the band or else joint centration will obviously not work since it will literally be forced to shift in order to reach equilibrium. That's why you're advised to, after going around once, make it as tight as possible (150% stretch) and not go around the same EXACT spot twice and the only once the next time. The spot immediately before and after the joint should be the tightest, but don't go overboard. Remove when it starts tingling or after two minutes, whichever comes first.
  24. -It is very effective at maintaining the follow joints: knees, elbows, shoulders, wrists, ankles.
  25. -It can ALSO be used to stimulate bloodflow (through occlusion) to a given muscle (e.g.: quads).

  30. -The back of the knee is completely covered. Be sure to stretch your clothes out or it will feel painful and uncomfortable. Better yet, take your pants/shorts off.

  39. The reason why I shill for voodoo flossing so much is because after I fucked my knees up at the beach (twisted them BAD) I couldn't ride bikes and could barely run for a long time but the following FIXED them for me (in this order):
  40. 1. Voodoo flossing BEFORE
  41. 2. Cotton gauze soaked in HOT ricin oil wrapped around my knee, wrapped in cling film overnight,
  42. 3. Voodoo flossing AFTER
  43. Now whenever I feel any sort of patellar instability, I floss the knee and it's perfect. The above can be applied to ANY joint or even muscle, save for the voodoo flossing, which only applies to (most) synovial joints.
