- - Zapdos now runs HP Ice instead of HP Grass. This helps it defeat tricky Grass types like Sceptile, and it can take out Anabel 2's Latios in a pinch. This also allows it to have 31 IV Sp. Atk instead of 30, which increases its Sp. Atk stat from 193 to 194.
- - Zapdos also runs Aerial Ace instead of Extrasensory. This gives the team an answer to some Brightpowder and Double Team users. Extrasensory is no longer needed because most of its targets are hit super effectively by HP Ice.
- - Despite running a physical move, Zapdos still has a minus Attack nature, since it rarely comes in needing the extra physical damage, but it often comes in needing to survive some hits since Latios is usually dead and Medicham is frail.
