  1. Code: Red – Lab
  2.
  3. “So, you want to build a laboratory under our house, eh Dexter?” Red asked Yellow as they walked into the living room through the front door.
  4. “Yeah! I think it’d be really useful, I could get proper equipment for new gadgets, I could have a proper workshop and a real storage area for all of the cool stuff cluttering my room, and we could maybe even set up a little training area.” She replied as Orange flopped onto the pristine white couch to the right of the door and turned on the TV. The others walked over to the walk-in kitchen and dining area.
  5. “You say that like we need more training and gadgets, I’m all set with my Katana and Uzi, and there is literally nothing that could happen that would cause me to change, unless I somehow inherited an ability by touching a gem or something, but that’s not gonna happen.” Green said, putting his equipment and school bags down next to the large wooden table that sat in the middle of the kitchen and Orange let out a loud, single laugh at his remark.
  6. “Alright then Mister Cocky, you might not need anything but everyone else might, especially as dangerous Phantoms have been on the rise lately.” Yellow informed.
  7. There was a sudden yell from upstairs, as Sam (their mother) came down the stairs that sat between the kitchen and the TV.
  8. “Hello my children!” she cheerily called to them.
  9. “Hello Mother!” they all called back in unison.
  10. “Why are you yelling?” she inquired as she was stood in the same room as them. She wandered over to a seat and sat. “Do much at school?” she inquired again as Green began making a Big Boy Banana Milkshake Mix that he loved so dearly.
  11. “Yellow nearly blew everyone up again.” Orange said, entering the kitchen. Yellow turned around and, wildly gesticulating, attempted to defend herself
  12. “Well when the science teacher tells us not to put the caesium in the water I’m gonna put the caesium in the water!” she firmly stated. “So what if I nearly killed little Johnny and blew up half of the lab. It needed re-decorating anyway.” Sam stood up with a confused look on her face. They could tell Yellow was about to get an earful. Luckily, it was interrupted by a cry of distress as Orange was pushed off of the counter by Red, which drew the mother’s attention away from her possible arsonist child and toward her injured child. She quickly ran over to Orange to find him lying on the floor with his index finger and thumb touching, and his other finger sticking out above them. She quickly realised he was fine, and just an idiot.
  13.
  14. After a minute of Orange complaining and the news telling them about a young boy named Brad who had died because his father was unable to get him leg surgery due to his father dying while guarding a military base, Yellow suddenly pipped up, quickly swallowing her drink and putting her hand up to gain attention.
  15. “Mum.” She started “Can we build a laboratory under the house?” getting up, Yellow walked over to her bag, getting out some blueprints with some sketches drawn on them. Placing it flat on the table, she began talking about the design, and what would be needed for construction. “I think if we built an elevator just there,” she pointed at a small odd part of the wall that stuck out and stood between the TV and kitchen opposite the stairs, “then we dig a big hole under the house, we could begin construction fairly soon.”
  16. “I could do the digging!” Orange triumphantly said, standing up.
  17. “I thought you were injured?” Yellow retorted.
  18. “Um, oh yeah. Ugh, my head…” he clutched his head with top notch acting and quickly sat back down. Yellow was about to continue when she realised her mother was sat with a huge grin on her face, to which Yellow asked
  19. “Why are you smiling?”
  20.
  21. Swiftly and without warning, Sam stood up, and began running up the stairs, leaving her kids sat in confusion. She peeked her head back round the kitchen upon realising this, and beckoned them. They followed in wonder. The groups’ Mother ran directly up the stairs, going straight past Red and Green’s rooms on the left, and Yellow and Orange’s rooms on the right, going into her and Joe’s room at the top. She opened the door and ran for the bedside drawers that sat (funnily enough) beside her bed. After hastily rummaging through she pulled out a small key. Attached was no sort of key-chain or anything, simply a lone, ominous key.
  22. “Hey, are you gonna tell us what you’re doing?” Orange politely queried. There came no reply, except a silent smile as Sam ran past them. After they followed her back down to the main room, they found her stopped at the place Yellow had suggested they placed the elevator. She knocked on the white paint, and, alongside a quiet, electronic hissing sound a small keyhole appeared. She slowly inserted the key into slot, and after attempting to turn the key with no result, took it out, looked at it and went
  23. “Oh, hang on this is the wrong key.” She then returned to her room, and after a short rustling sound she was back at the keyhole.
  24.
  25. She inserted it into the hole and hopefully turned it, letting out a sigh of relief as it clicked and was swallowed by the slot. Then the sticky-outy-bit opened out like an automatic door into a small elevator. After entering, Sam pushed a small, silver button, and the doors closed, and they began their short descent.
  26.
  27. Finally, she spoke “So, you didn’t much know your grandparents. But, let’s just say not all of your intelligence is down to your ability, Yellow.” She flashed a small smile, only to be interrupted by the opening of the doors. Before them was a large, white room, an array of very scientific equipment was scattered across the room. It was a scientists dream, there were boxes full of different chemicals just waiting to be used, examination and workbenches a whole bunch of robot parts, realistically I’m surprised Yellow didn’t nu- alright no we are not doing that. Who wrote the script for this episode? Steve? It was Steve wasn’t it? Steve! Steve you goddamn-
  28. “So you’re telling me,” Red just about formed the words past his bewilderment “That Grandma was like, a super scientist? And you never told us?” The simple reply was
  29. “Yeah.” To which they all yelled “Why!?”
  30. “Dunno lol” Sam said with a smug smile. She then seemed to remember something, and let out an “ooh” sound as she ran over to a small red lever on the wall aside a large, red door. “You haven’t even seen the best bit!” she shouted with excitement as the large doors screeched in pain as it opened due to its age.
  31.
  32. Inside was yet another sizable room, adorned with a ton of shelves going all the way along the walls, each containing hundreds, maybe thousands of gadgets, gizmos, half built robots, fully built robots, some seemingly magical items. Basically a lot of new toys. They all ran to different items in bewilderment. Red found an orange that unfolded into a small robot, however it was missing a leg so sadly attempted to waddle around. Green found a small, floating green gem with a radiating glow. He poked it, and there was an odd noise before it became infused into his left hand. He looked at it a flailed his hand about in an attempt to get it off. He turns around with a high pitched
  33. “Um.” But got nobody’s attention, as they were all in wonder at everything had found. Orange was content with a small toy mimicked what he said to it. Yellow had found a glasses lens that fit perfectly into her glasses. She popped out her right lens and placed the new lens into it. After a few seconds a small interface appeared and she smiled giddily. It had all of the information she could need, with lifeform analysis and even a live newsfeed. There was too much for her to go through at one time.
  34.
  35. All of their attention was unexpectedly drawn to a noise coming from the corner of the room. They all huddled around it, to find that it was a walnut, however it had strange cartoon eyes on its face. It freaked the four out because it was like nothing they had ever seen. It then sprouted little peanut arms and legs, which startled them. It rolled over and stood up, yawning as it did so. It looked grumpy. The object saw the group and said
  36. “What do you want?” in a gravelly, old voice. Orange tried to poke it, to which it objected with large intensity. Red found the words to say
  37. “H-hi? Um, who are you?”
  38. “Who am I?” it replied cracking its joints. “I am Reginald. And I used to know your grandmother.”
  39.
  40. They were down there all day, playing with their new toys. Joe, their father, came home at one point. He was really confused because none of his family were home.
