- Separate Rankings -
- - At the end of the level, the player will receive different Ranks for the following categories
- - Time Bonus - Beating a level within a certain amount of time
- - Ring Bonus - Collecting a certain amount of Rings in total
- - Enemy Bonus - Destroying a certain amount of enemies
- - Cool Bonus - Avoiding damage for a certain amount of hits
- - Boost Bonus - Retaining a certain amount of Boost Energy
- - Instead of pairing all of these together for a single Rank, the player would set records for each individual category
- - Incentivizes changing oneβs playstyle when replaying a level to achieve a higher rank/record for certain categories
- - Example: Securing the fastest path to the Goal Ring, taking routes with more Rings, braving paths with more enemies, moving carefully around obstacles, being conservative with Boost Energy
- - Bonuses would still count towards a total Score, but it would only change when players attain higher bonuses in individual categories
- - Serves as an alternative to Sonic Adventure 2βs Mission Mode, which had different objectives with slight changes to the level design
- - This would not require drastic changes to the level design itself, but would have to be supported with more routes to take per level
