  1. >...
  2. >And then it was midnight.
  3. >Sunset slowly wakes up from her sleeping bag upon hearing rustling in the kitchen.
  4. >She sits up and peers into the darkness.
  5. >There's nothing at first.
  6. >Until her eyes adjust.
  7. >The darkness slowly fades away to reveal a faint glow emitting from the kitchen.
  8. >Someone's clearly in there.
  9. >She gets up to her feet.
  10. >The silence re-takes over the environment as she draws near the kitchen.
  11. >She wearily steps through the doorway to find Twilight sitting at the table.
  12. >She has a reclusive look on her face.
  13. >Sunset looks over to her.
  14. >"Twilight? What are you doing up at this time?" She asks.
  15. >Twilight looks up at her, as though she's been startled.
  16. >"Oh... um... I didn't know you were there." Twilight responds.
  17. >"It''s fine."
  18. >"I just, I couldn't sleep. That's all."
  19. >"Why not? Is something wrong?" Sunset asks, concerned.
  20. >"Oh, no. I just felt a little lonely since I was the only one awake."
  21. >Sunset smiles a little bit.
  22. >"Well it's alright, now. I'm here, right?"
  23. >"Yeah..." Twilight says with a sigh.
  24. >Sunset raises her eyebrow.
  25. >"Are you sure there's not something on your mind?"
  26. >Twilight doesn't answer.
  27. >"Twilight?"
  28. >"I don't know..." Twilight finally says back. "Could you kinda... sit here with me for a while?"
  29. >"Okay." Sunset agrees, pulling up a chair.
  30. >The two girls sit together, letting the silence take the room once again.
  31. >They start out looking down at their hands and the table.
  32. >Twiddling their thumbs.
  33.
  34. >Sunset looks up for a split second at Twilight.
  35. >She doesn't notice her looking.
  36. >Sunset looks at Twilight's hair.
  37. >It's impressively smooth and sleek.
  38. >Yet it's not even wet.
  39. >Sunset contemplates what her hair would look like if she styled it like that.
  40. >Twilight can subtly feel eyes being directed towards her.
  41. >She looks up across the table at her companion.
  42. >Sunset looks back down, hoping Twilight didn't notice her.
  43. >There was direct eye contact for a split second.
  44. >Twilight doesn't say anything in response.
  45. >She just looks back down.
  46. >That was a close one for Sunset.
  47. >Perhaps a little too close.
  48. >Perhaps even, a little too late.
  49. >Too late to look the other way and pretend that didn't just happen.
  50. >But her bravery dictates her following decision.
  51. >She looks back up at Twilight.
  52. >Maybe she can pull her eyes away a lot quicker this time.
  53. >Apparently not.
  54. >Twilight knew she was going to do it again.
  55. >Her eyes shoot up as well and they make eye contact for an even longer time than the last.
  56. >Sunset looks back down, blushing.
  57. >Twilight smiles at her.
  58. >She caught her this time.
  59.
  60. >"Sunset?" Twilight asks her.
  61. >Sunset's face reddens even further upon hearing Twilight's voice.
  62. >Well, she has to answer her.
  63. >"Y-... yeah, Twilight?"
  64. >"Is there a reason you came in here?"
  65. >"Not really. Just kinda felt like it..."
  66. >She just felt like it.
  67. >"Well is there anything you want to talk about?" Twilight asks her.
  68. >"I... I guess."
  69. >Twilight suddenly realizes that there is nothing she can think of to start a conversation.
  70. >"Tonight's been a little uneventful..." Sunset brings up.
  71. >"Yeah. Nothing too interesting happened. It would be nice if we all could have a little fun."
  72. >"Well most of us are in the other room sleeping. So I don't really think they really care at this point in time."
  73. >"Yeah." Twilight agrees. "Guess it's just you and me."
  74. >Neither of them speak for a few seconds.
  75. >Let the situation sink in a little bit.
  76. >One of them has to break the silence.
  77. >"You, um, want something to drink?" Twilight asks.
  78. >"Yes, yes. I do feel a little thirsty." Sunset replies.
  79. >Sunset stands up.
  80. >Walks over to the fridge.
  81. >Opens the door, only to find that there's not really much someone can particularly drink.
  82. >Instead, there's nothing but dozens of containers of whipped cream.
  83. >Filling the entire fridge.
  84.
  85. >She bends forward to try to find something behind the whipped cream.
  86. >There doesn't seem to be anything.
  87. >Sunset hears Twilight let out a shudder behind her.
  88. >She looks over her shoulder to just quickly catch a glance of Twilight moving her sight back away and down to the table.
  89. >There is redness on Twilight's face.
  90. >"...What is it?" Sunset asks.
  91. >Twilight looks too nervous to speak.
  92. >"I... it's nothing."
  93. >Sunset slightly narrows her eyes.
  94. >"It looks like you were just looking at something..." She suspects.
  95. >"Um, yeah. Yeah, I was. I was wondering what that stuff in the fridge is."
  96. >"You don't know what it is?"
  97. >Twilight shakes her head.
  98. >"Okay. It's called whipped cream." Sunset explains.
  99. >"Alright. How do I use it?"
  100. >Sunset takes one of them out of the fridge and walks over to Twilight.
  101. >She stands next to her chair and squirts some onto her thumb.
  102. >The whipped cream slides out from the opening.
  103. >Twilight watches Sunset try to balance it so it doesn't fall off.
  104. >"That whipped cream stuff looks cool." Twilight gasps.
  105. >"It is. It's usually for parties and stuff."
  106.
  107. >"Well, that would explain why it's in Pinkie Pie's fridge."
  108. >"Yeah, that's true." Sunset says with a chuckle.
  109. >Twilight watches Sunset squeeze more of the whipped cream out of the container.
  110. >"Can I try?" She asks.
  111. >"You mean the whipped cream? Sure."
  112. >Sunset hands Twilight the can of whipped cream to Twilight.
  113. >Twilight presses her finger on the flexible lid, causing the whipped cream to emit out of the top.
  114. >"Wow!" Twilight quietly gasps in amazement. "This thing is so cool!"
  115. >"Yeah, I guess it is."
  116. >Twilight sprays it all over her hand.
  117. >"This stuff is so soft and creamy!" She says before licking it off her hand. "It tastes good, too."
  118. >"Can I have some? I know there's more, but I kinda want to use one can at a time."
  119. >"But... I really like it."
  120. >"I'll give it right back."
  121. >"I know, but I kind of want to use it for another minute or something."
  122. >Sunset stares at her.
  123. >"I'll give it right back. I promise. I just want to keep playing with it."
  124. >"Okay."
  125. >Twilight proceeds to squirt it directly into her mouth.
  126. >She lets her lips close around the opening.
  127. >After indulging some more of the condiment, Twilight hands it back over to Sunset.
  128. >"Um, thanks." Sunset replies as she takes the can.
  129. >"Oh wait, you didn't mind putting the whole thing in my mouth did you?" Twilight asks.
  130.
  131. >Sunset squirts more of the whipped cream into her mouth the exact same way Twilight did, closing her lips on the flexible opening.
  132. >"Of course, not." Sunset verifies.
  133. >Sunset then squirts some onto her hand and dabs it onto Twilight's nose.
  134. >"Hey!" Twilight quietly exclaims, careful not to wake the others.
  135. >"Got you!"
  136. >"Give me that!" Demands Twilight as she tries to snatch the can out of Sunset's hands.
  137. >They both playfully fight over the open whipped cream container.
  138. >During the struggle, there are various moments in which fingers are unintentionally pressed against the opening, causing more whipped cream to shoot out in random directions.
  139. >It starts spilling all over their hands and drips onto the floor.
  140. >"Careful!" Warns Sunset as she holds tightly to the can. "This stuff is slippery, you know."
  141. >Twilight pauses for a second upon hearing Sunset inform her this.
  142. >An implicit smile appears on her face.
  143. >"How slippery is it?" She asks.
  144. >"Like, banana peels in cartoons slippery." Sunset tells her.
  145. >Twilight starts to smile even wider, letting Sunset have the can back.
  146. >"There's a grassy field behind this house's backyard, right?" She asks Sunset.
  147. >"The one with the hill? Yes."
  148. >Twilight goes to the sink area and starts collecting shopping bags from under the sink.
  149. >"What are you doing?" Sunset asks.
  150. >"Collect as many cans of whipped cream as you can. We're going outside."
  151. >"Why?"
  152. >"The others won't be able hear us out there. I... want to see just how slippery this whipped cream really is." Twilight tells Sunset with a devious smile on her face.
  153. >"Wh-why don't you want anyone to hear us?" Sunset asks as she blushes slightly.
  154. >"Because I... kind of want this to just be you and me."
  155.
  156. >...
  157. >Twilight and Sunset pack their bags with all of their whipped cream.
  158. >The bags are almost breaking.
  159. >They leave Pinkie Pie's house with 34 cans of whipped cream.
  160. >Thirty.
  161. >Four.
  162. >They skip through the woods, giggling to eachother.
  163. >Sunlight in the Moonlight.
  164. >"Over Here!!!" Twilight squeals as she points to an open field with a hill in it.
  165. >The massive hill towers over the rest of the field.
  166. >It's literally two stories high.
  167. >"But wait! What are we doing here?!" Sunset asks her.
  168. >"Isn't it obvious? Come to the top of the hill with me!"
  169. >Twilight leads Sunset to the top of the hill.
  170. >"Take the whipped cream out! ALL OF IT!!!" Twilight happily blares into the wind.
  171. >"Okay, okay." Sunset says as she takes out all 34 bottles of whipped cream. "What do you want me to do with it all?"
  172. >Twilight takes two of the cans and pops the lids off.
  173. >"Take the one you already had and empty it out on the grass all the way down the hill!" Twilight orders. "We're haeving fun tonight!"
  174. >Sunset immediately understands what's going on.
  175. >"Oh, my god! OH MY GAWD!!!" Sunset excitedly exclaims. "Oh, YES!!! YES, TWILIGHT! I love this!"
  176. >They ecstatically take the cans of whipped cream and spray it down the side of the hill.
  177. >34 cans of whipped cream on the hill!
  178. >34 cans of whipped cream!
  179. >Take three down, squirt them around!
  180. >31 CANS OF WHIPPED CREAM ON THE HILL!!!
  181.
  182. >And then the first three cans were empty.
  183. >Oh, no!!!!!!
  184. >But it's okay, THERE'S MORE!!
  185. >31 cans of whipped cream on the hill!
  186. >31 cans of whipped cream!
  187. >Take five down, squirt them around!
  188. >26 cans of whipped cream on the hill!
  189. >Now on the side of the hill, there's whipped cream EVERYWHERE!!!
  190. >Yesh.
  191. >Twilight slips off her slippers.
  192. >"You ready?" She asks Sunset.
  193. >"Totally!!!"
  194. >"Follow meeeeeee!!" Twilight yells as she slides down the hill on her feet, turning to the side.
  195. >She zooms down the hill as her momentum picks up.
  196. >The lines of whipped creak are squished and spread all over and down the hill.
  197. >Sunset follows Twilight, also sliding down the hill.
  198. >"WHOA!" She exclaims as she almost slips off of hher feet.
  199. >But she regains balance and joins Twilight at the bottom of the hill.
  200. >Whew!
  201. >"That was so fun! Let's do it again" Sunset exclaims.
  202. >And so they did.
  203. >They race eachother back up the hill.
  204. >Slipping and sliding on the whipped cream still there.
  205. >It's a close one.
  206. >There's no telling who made it back first.
  207. >It's a tie!
  208. >Twilight and Sunset then slide down again.
  209.
  210. >Just the simple feeling of rushing down the hill at night is exhiarating.
  211. >The sudden downward and forward motion as they go over the edge and start sliding.
  212. >The breeze blowing through their hair as they go down.
  213. >It's seriously almost better than sledding.
  214. >Each time they would reach the bottom, they would race eachother back up.
  215. >Some times, Twilight would win.
  216. >Other times, Sunset would win.
  217. >After about another 10 rounds of sliding down, Twilight comes up with an idea.
  218. >"Hey! How about one of us poses as a sled and the other rides on top!" She suggests.
  219. >"What?" Sunset questions her. "How's that going to work?"
  220. >"Simple, the one on the bottom gets on their hands and knees while the other gets onto their back."
  221. >"Wait... so you want me to get on your back?"
  222. >"Well maybe. Or it can be the other way around." Twilight explains.
  223. >Sunset internally evaluates the idea.
  224. >"Well, okay. I think I'd be safer on the bottom." Concludes Sunset.
  225. >"Alright, then."
  226. >Sunset gets down onto her elbows and her knees.
  227. >"Hop on, I guess." She says to Twilight.
  228. >Twilight sits down on Sunset's back.
  229. >Sunset scoots forward towards the slope.
  230. >Twilight looks down to the bottom of the hill.
  231. >"Wait! Wait, stop." She calls out.
  232. >"What? Why?"
  233.
  234. >"I'm... kinda nervous." Twilight admits. "You promise not to tip over, right?"
  235. >"It's okay. Just hold on tight. I'll stay up right, I swear."
  236. >"Okay."
  237. >Twilight holds on to Sunset's shoulders as she continues towards the slope.
  238. >"Hang on tight!" She warns.
  239. >Twilight can feel the momentum growing as Sunset begins to slide down without trying.
  240. >A shock travels up her spine as it dawns on her that she can now no longer control the forward motion.
  241. >"Here we gooo!" Says Sunset.
  242. >They go down the hill.
  243. >Twilight shuts her eyes, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
  244. >The ground races by beneath their feet.
  245. >Twilight feels an excited hot-blooded feeling as Sunset glides smoothly down the hill.
  246. >There is no shaking at all.
  247. >They pick up speed.
  248. >Wow, that was a lot of T's.
  249. >Twilight opens her eyes to see the bottom approaching fast.
  250. >But she's having fun, now.
  251. >The two reach the bottom, and keep on sliding because of the momentum gained from their combined weight.
  252. >They shoot forward like a car.
  253. >But eventually slow down.
  254. >"That was amazing!" Twilight compliments.
  255. >"Let's do it again!" Sunset pleads.
  256. >They both go back up the hill for another go.
  257. >But it's easier for them to get to the top this time.
  258. >There's less friction, due to there being these less whipped cream left on the hill.
  259. >I't all starting to accumulate at the bottom and sink into the ground.
  260. >"We should probably use those other bottle now." Twilight suggests.
  261. >Sunset nods and goes for a couple of more cans that haven't been used yet.
  262.
  263. >26 cans of whipped cream on the hill!
  264. >26 cans of whipped cream!
  265. >Take four down, squirt them around!
  266. >22 cans of whipped cream on the hill!
  267. >"It's not enough!" Twilight cries, reaching for more cans.
  268. >This must be amended!
  269. >22 cans of whipped cream on the hill!
  270. >22 cans of whipped cream!
  271. >Take five down, squit them around!
  272. >17 cans of whipped cream on the hill!
  273. >"There we go! Now let's go again!" Sunset proclaims.
  274. >She gets down on her elbows and knees again.
  275. >Twilight hops on top and Sunset starts scooting forward.
  276. >She's cheering a little bit this time.
  277. >"Woohoo!" She cheers.
  278. >They go over the edge to the slope again.
  279. >Here we go again!
  280. >"Woohoo!"
  281. >"Woohoo!"
  282. >We're goin' down, y'all!
  283. >Twilight keeps her eyes open this time.
  284. >Sunset holds her position tightly.
  285. >They go down, sliding along the now matted grass.
  286. >Whipped cream is a lot more slippery than Twilight had imagined.
  287. >The surrounding world rushes by as the two slip dwon the hill.
  288. >The fear had been diminished this time!
  289. >And then they reach the bottom of the slope.
  290. >"Woohoo!"
  291.
  292. >They continue the pattern again and again on the hill.
  293. >They take turns being on top of the other one.
  294. >Sunset and Twilight keep sliding down the hill again and again.
  295. >And again and again.
  296. >The whipped cream gets eroded away again.
  297. >It keeps happening!
  298. >17 cans of whipped cream on the hill!
  299. >17 cans of whipped cream!
  300. >Take three down, squirt them around!
  301. >11 cans of whipped cream on the hill!
  302. >Woohoo!
  303. >After all of the phasers have been set, Twilight, Sunset and friends decide enough is enough for the night.
  304. >"Alrighty!" Sunset sighs. "That was so fun, but I'm tired. I don't think I can go on much longer."
  305. >"Your not the only one, Sunny!"
  306. >The two look back at the remaining cans of the cream.
  307.
  308. It appears that there are three bottles that remain.
  309. >Sunset and Twilight are quite confused as to what to do with them.
  310. >They look back at the field.
  311. >The matted and slippery grass has been pressed into the ground.
  312. >A perfect reflection of all the fun they just had.
  313. >There seriously better not be anyone else who comes into this field.
  314. >"I... think I'm tired enough to go to bed now..." Twilight suggests.
  315. >Sunset smiles over to her.
  316. >"That's great! I'm glad I was able to make your night fun before you went to bed."
  317. >"Thank, Sunset." Twilight says with a giggle. "So... what do we do with the last three?"
  318. >Sunset raises an eyebrow.
  319. >"Hm. I don't know... But if it's inside, then we would have to be quiet, right?"
  320. >"Yeah. I guess we would, huh? Let's go back and figure something out."
  321. >"Alright." Sunset agrees. "I'm too worn out to do much else anyway."
  322. >She steps forward and hugs Twilight.
  323. >The two then throw away the used cans into a nearby dumpster and pick up the remaining three to take back to Pinkie's house.
  324. >But the adventure doesn't end here.
  325. >Action is going to start up again.
  326. >Perhaps... not the same type of action.
  327. >Twilight and Sunset slowly and quietly creep back into the house.
  328. >They're freezing cold from being outside getting that whipped cream on their clothes.
  329. >They sit right next to eachother at the table to figure out what they're going to do with the last three cans of whipped cream.
  330. >...
