  1. On June 25, @Splatter_Shah caught word of a phishing scam going around with the link "discordgg.ga". They decided to make a set of tweets about it along with false claims and general fear mongering stuff (It's a scam, not a virus, you can just use common sense, etc)
  2.
  3. This somehow spread across multiple discord servers, including some popular ones. The URL later got taken down, not by Discord, but most likely by the original domain owners to fake a DMCA claim. (I don't exactly 100% know this, but it's very likely)
  4.
  5. About half a month later, on July 17, the site was brought back up after the person/people behind it decided to continue it. It claimed to bring something on July 27 (Which, honestly, I was looking foward to)
  6.
  7. These are all fake by the way. Do CTRL+F and look up "nicetry".
  8.
  9. And that's it so far. I'm still looking forward to July 27 by the way.
  10.
  11. Some other important things to note:
  12.
  13. * This was NOT a virus. It was a phishing scam. Something that I've repeated numerous times.
  14. * It's NOT likely that they'll be able to actually "hack" into Discord.
  15. * This was all most likely an attempt to see how this would play out. You have all been played. (lol)
  16. * The user who (supposedly) did this goes under the name of "R0Y4LTY" (could be fake)
  17. * @discordapp did a fucking awful job apparently.
  18. * They are most likely not done yet.
  19. * I knew about this the whole time, but also wanted to see how this goes down. I mean, come on, why would they need Discord accounts? They clearly didn't have money on them since they were out for people who needed Nitro. They clearly wouldn't search them either.
