  17. For Jyotish, Indian or "Vedic" astrology, the source text is the Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra. Most all other Indian texts (such as The Brihat Jataka and the Brihat Samhita both by Vahara Mihira) are abstracts from this. See the books of Freedom Cole for a modern, and easier to read, perspective.

As much as I dislike Joey Yap (he tends to change traditional naming conventions) he does have some of the most readily accessable books available, and has the only (that I know of) Ten Thousand Year Calendar available in English. Just be aware that he does change some things for marketing purposes.

  81. This originally started as a post on 4chan /OMG/ as a response to a poster who wanted recommendations for learning astrology, my response consisted of the first part. Some time later as the OP was being revised I made the suggestion that an astrology pastebin be added. Since I had made the suggestion it was only proper that I also provide the content. This is the result.
